My family lives in Tiburon, and we visit Waypoint weekly. We always have great service and good food. There aren't any other options for which to compare this pizza. Sometimes, husband and I come up and sit at the bar and get a quick slice. It is something we do without telling our children, and it is all around awesome! Came in on a busy Sunday in Tiburon and even then got my slice quickly. Was greeted by two friendly girls at the register. The pizza was tasty, sauce a little on the sweeter side. I tried a slice of the pepperoni, they do the large slice thin crust style pizzas (plenty of Pepperoni on the slice). Great price for a slice of pie in Marin/Tiburon area. I suggest you Grab the slice to go and walk 30 seconds to the grassy area around the corner and have a view of the Bay and SF City. Next time I'm in town I'll be back. I'm not surprised to see a Yelp average of 3 for this place. This is one of the reasonably priced restaurants near the water in Tiburon. Unfortunately service was fair and food simply average. Noone noticed our arrival because the worker was on his phone. We moved to seat ourselves when the worker stopped us because the table had to be wiped... seemed odd that tables aren't all cleaned given the place was almost empty. He seemed distracted while we asked questions about the menu. Then we had to go to the bar to ask for our check because he was on his phone again. He didn't even notice K approach him and K had to speak to get his attention. Food was meh. read more

I really like this place. I have been going here for many years and the Pizza is solid. Is it the best? No, but its very good, especially if you get it by the slice (nice thin crust). I also really enjoy their salads as well and they have a decent Beer selection. My only complaint would be their music choice, as they tend to play alot of bands like Oasis, MCR, Smashing Pumpkins, Goo Goo Dolls etc. over and over. read more

My family and I went here because Guayamas was closed. This restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Tiburon - great location (note: no view of the bay like Guayamas or Sams). I'm sorry, but you did just about everything right except for the pizza. Why is your pizza so mediocre? The salad we had was excellent. Very good service too. The restaurant was clean and has a great sailing motif with cool sailing decor and even a decent menu. Very kid friendly. There's so much of this restaurant that I like. BUT The pizza was very bland. Fresh toppings and a good crust but the sauce is not very good. I can't remember the last time I had to put salt on the pizza to make it taste better or have any taste at all. They did have a good salad. If I am in downtown Tiburon with my family, the first place I would go to is Guayamas. I might return to this location again, but I'm not in any rush. read more

We stopped here after a day on Angel Island. The smell of the pizza down the street coaxed us in the door. Very chill atmosphere with a friendly, busy, but mellow staff. The walk the plank was interesting it was like a caesar salad with steak on pizza bread. It was ok, but could have used a little more dressing. It was on the dry side. The pizza was good. The crust was a little soggy, but I'll attribute that to being in the delivery box. My biggest gripe is the kid's pasta. It was penne with butter and parmesan. It was tasteless and horrible. I don't understand why they wouldn't do a kid's sized spaghetti. To add to the experience, no napkins, utensils or condiments (red pepper or grated parmesan). read more

The most amazing thing I've noticed in these reviews is that people refer to Waypoint as having the best pizza in Marin. Could be true, if all you know is the likes of Chuck E Cheese, Dominos, and Little Caesar's. There are amazing pizzas in Marin - just not here. It's a very average pie with an unimpressive crust and an impressive price tag. If their prices were, say, 20% less, it would be worth it. Weak crust, and though we ordered it crispy, it was soggy, limp, and slightly undercooked. The toppings seemed to be of good quality, but it was disappointing to order a pizza with two toppings and have one left off. The person who answered the phone couldn't even be bothered to apologize for the mistake, just gave a half-hearted, "We're real busy." To their credit, the cost of the item was removed from the check. Conclusion: Not at all worth it. Two excellent pizza choices only three miles away, and many others in the surrounding area. Saw this place walking by when we were visiting and looked delicious! We knew after a night swimming we wanted to fill up on some good pizza. We ordered a large BBQ chicken, small pepperoni and pineapple and a small gluten free prosciutto and fontina. The boys went to go pick up the pizza to bring back to the hotel. Pizza was delicious and I loved it didn't have too much sauce and just the right amount of toppings and cheese. The ranch they have is some sort of garlic ranch/ sauce and went good with the pizza. BBQ sauce on the chicken one was delicious! It was a bit sweet so one slice is about all I could handle but it was good. Gluten free crust was so good and wasn't burnt like most crusts are. Only issue I have is that they forgot the prosciutto on my pizza and my husband reminded him and they just placed it on top without putting it back in the oven so it fell all off and was cold, so that wasn't enjoyable. We recently went to Waypoint Pizza for the first time. We were a party of 9, half of that being kids. The waiter was quick, friendly, & attentive. The whole staff welcomed us kindly and handled our large order with ease. We stuffed our faces and loved every minute of it. Kids got cheese pizza and shrimp pasta, it was divine! The adults ordered pasta, salads and different specialty pizzas. Each equally delicious. This little gem in the heart of Tiburon was truly the highlight of our visit. Despite its' noteworthy crust, Waypoint Pizza is probably not a destination-pizza-place. However, it's worth a try if you want to try a different type of crust in a comfy atmosphere. It's hard to overlook the setting: Small and quaint main street next to the SF Bay; houses in hills, sailboats, lots of wealth. I thought the restaurant itself was relaxed and cool inside. They had a nice color scheme, deck chairs outside open windows, and boating stuff all around. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni (21.25$) and the half Transpac salad (6.00$). What drew me in about this place was maybe something no one else in these reviews seemed to notice: The dough for the pizza was made with honey and beer. This would likely produce a more "bready" crust rather than crispy one. So looking at some of the reviews on here complaining about the crust made me wonder if people actually read the menu. The pizza itself was probably 3.5 stars, I really liked the different take on the crust as it was chewy and somewhat sweet. Toppings and cheese were also tasty. The salad was pretty large for a smaller size and included these really delicious walnuts that were somewhat spicy. The only downside to the visit was the service as it was pretty damn slow. Based on some background reading, it turns out that the new owners bought this place in June of 2017 and maybe not everyone is happy with the new management. The pizza is really overpriced for something that tastes like they dumped a bucket of salt into the dough. Seriously, if you have high blood pressure this place could probably kill you. The ham tasted cheap and nasty. They do not use quality ingredients that's for sure. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed by the two tables they had to serve when we were there and when they messed up our order there was no attempt to make it right.
