Our server made us an extra stout pot of coffee when I remarked so many obscure diners serve what could pass for hot boiled peanut shell water. Except for the dated carpet the place was clean and smoke free and the staff was pleasant. For the money, service and taste (in that order), this diner gets our hearty approval. read more

Once upon a time this was a decent truck-stop diner. Unfortunately it has gone progressively downhill. The final straw was the move from real burgers to prefab patties. This means the Parky Burger, a Mini-Cassia staple for decades has ceased to be. What was a great long-burger with onion and cheese mixed in the burger and cooked in is now a prefab patty. Blech. Not being able to get a Parky I ordered breakfast. Largely cold. Greasy hash browns. Nasty. No reason to go back. read more

The best place to stop and re-energize on a long haul road trip. I was a bit timid when we first walked in the locals picked us as out-of-towners at first glance! However, as soon as we seated ourselves our server was nothing short of amazing and on point! Coffee, cream, and water was brought to our table before we even had a chance to look at the menus (amazing mind-reading server!!) I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich (it was time to switch up driving duties) and the Hubs ordered the Club Sandwich. We ordered to-go needing to get some more miles under us quick and they were gracious enough to even get us some to-go cups for our coffees, which was much appreciated! Both of us ate our meals a bit later down the road on our journey and even though cold (our choice) our food was still great and hit the spot! Potatoes done well (browns for me and fries for the Hubs) both still had crispness, "Yes!!!" and the friendliness, camaraderie, and speediness of the staff (even though I don't think they're asked for "to-go" too often) kept us happy and satisfied till our next stop. Stop there on my way through, not much for looks on the outside but the food is amazing. I ordered after dinner menu at 10 PM at night and the food was great. Also have decent size parking lot for truck and trailer parking. Also I forgot to mention they sell beer here which is always a good thing. read more

Stopped at the Wayside Cafe for lunch en route to Twin Falls. The food was OK (dug the fry sauce) but the service was ABYSMAL....which is kind of funny since there are a bunch of local waiter awards hanging on the wall.....limited competition I guess. Felt like we were in a prison cafeteria with the security camera at our table. Then there was a 'joke' from our terrible waitress about us dining and dashing. I don't know what goes on in these parts, but I do know we won't be returning to the Wayside Cafe. read more

Loved that it was open 24 hours, breakfast all day, and right next to the motel where we stayed. If you're looking for all-natural, organic, homemade food - look elsewhere. The food was classic diner food, but lacking in any flavor or character. He had a burger that the waitress said was one of her favorite. When he got it, the patty was blackened there were no condiments. Instead of fries he got the potato salad which looked, and tasted, like it came right out of a can. Small town diner - food is home cooked and what you'd expect. It's a pretty good value considering most dinners come with soup or salad, choice of potato and a dessert. They did ring up my order wrong and then rather than fixing it they gave me 10% off (didn't equal the amount they mischarged), but I didn't have time to argue further (cost them 1 star). Oh my god go to any other restaurant but this place. I've been driving all day and decided to stop and eat somewhere and was glad to find a place that wasn't fast food. Wrong choice. This place is foul. I ordered the veal with brown gravy and they gave me white, the meet was unseasoned and slightly burnt, the baked potato (loaded) was just cheese and RAW CANNED MUSHROOMS! No seasoning, no butter, nothing on it. And the waitress had to come back multiple times because she doesn't know the menu, didn't give me silver ware or extra napkins. Edit: When I went to the "manager" about how foul the food was she tried to tell me it was a matter of opinion because I guess people like raw canned mushrooms on a bland bake potato. I never leave reviews and I'm not even a picky eater. She literally argued with me about it. Horrible horrible place and if she's not in charge, she deserves to be fired or forced to take a class. Ridiculous. I absolutely hate how negative this place made me feel. Go to the Carl's Jr. or A&W. You might regret it otherwise. read more

Typical small town cafe. Breakfast 24/7. Gigantic portions. Their biscuits are more like cake than a true biscuit.

Service was slow, and employees had attitude problems. Not one employee was wearing a smile. It took an hour and twenty minutes for us to get our food, and didn't get our coffees refilled while we were waiting. Mediocre food and even worse service. Never come here! read more

i am a truck driver {not a fat one} (clean and skinny) anyways i tried it here and the food was definately not something to write to home about. i was not impressed at all i had a burger and fries, fries were decent but the burger was boring and tasted like a frozen patty from the dollar store. but they do have decent truck parking. i think i would rather eat a cup of noodles or a military m.r.e. than eat here again. read more

We just stopped here for breakfast on our way through from Salt Lake City to our home in Washington. I totally followed Yelp reviewers in selecting where to stop, and here is a shout out to reviewers! This place was awesome; food was amazing, hash browns were excellent, not your standard packaged, ham steak was thick and juicy, but oh my, the scone!! It was delicious with butter, honey or jam but our server offered me maple frosting and while I didn't take her up on it, it sounds amazing and might next time. And there will be a next time as we travel this route a few times a year. Service was excellent as well. If you want classy elegance, this may not be the place for you but I am interested in casual and delicious for my traveling breakfast. My only reason for four stars rather than five is while coffee is constantly refilled, it is not the best, but then I had my cup of fresh brewed very robust coffee before starting out very early this morning. read more
