This is my usual preferred nail salon that is until one day they overcharged me for service and I notice they are sometimes racist. Whenever I go I get mani and pedicure and it's never over $100, this time I went showed her the picture of what I wanted she told me she couldn't do it, now mind you it was only hand painted artwork, no rhinestones or extra and if you have been a nail technician for more than 4 years I don't see why you couldn't do it, so I asked if someone else could, bc thats the style i wanted, they didn't do it but charged me $165 then im like no way, she went down to $135, I have not been back since. Also notice that if drinks/beverages are complimentary why is it not offered to EVERY paying client, I am African American and I always have to ask when I go in but other race get offered immediately upon service. Once I get there I told the guy I wanted pink French tip. He proceeded to do white French tip with clear pink, I never mentioned white. I But I was ok with it until they sat me on the UV light and realized it was a simple line and didn't even try to clear it up to make it look neat. I asked a lady to call him to fix it n he just went over it and didn't fix the part I told them about . I felt like he was in a hurry since it was packed but if you can't do your job right don't do it at all . Went on a Friday evening, very nice inside and pretty busy. I got the super deluxe pedicure for 45$ which includes a 10 minute massage. The pedicure was average and I asked for the water to be hotter but she said that it was already as hot as it can get and it was nearly warm. & as my boyfriend was paying for our pedicures I realized my second nail was not shaped straight. I went to Wayside Nails for a full set. I was impressed that the nail tech finished rather quickly. Then, the next week, Nails started popping off one by one. They charged me when I needed to get those nails replaced even though I had been there the previous week. I'm not going back to Wayside nails. I'll just go somewhere else. Instead of giving me a clear answer, they just kept brushing me off, saying "no, it's fine" without actually telling me the price. That already felt sketchy. Then after the service was done, they suddenly hit me with an \$80 charge--WAY more than I expected. On top of that, they waited until the very end to mention that they don't even accept cards. Seriously? Who doesn't say that upfront? I only had my card with me, so I had to call someone just to transfer me money because I don't have Zelle. It was embarrassing and completely avoidable if they had just been honest from the start. I chose Wayside nails because I saw positive online reviews. I was able to book online using the website waysidenailshouston.com and chose Cathy because of positive pedicure reviews. When I got there this morning they didn't know who Cathy was and didn't know anything about online appointments! So I chose a technician available, Gloria, who I thought did a great job. My $35 spa pedicure took 30 minutes. When I went to pay I asked the receptionist about the Monday 20% discount. She didn't know anything about that so I pulled up the website and showed her. So she called the owner who said they don't have a website! Although this website has the correct 900 Wayside address and some of the same technicians listed along with all the exact same services and prices they claim that it is not their website. Who would make up a fake website? And why Wasn't the owner aware of it? Well they are now and promise to take it down. They weren't friendly, cut me and didn't tell me until 5 minutes later when my toe would not stop bleeding and then told me she took out an ingrown which she didn't. Literally would not stop bleeding so she has to put yellow powder to soak up the blood. Did not time the poor 10 minute massage. When "massaging" me with the hot stone she hit my ankle with it and didn't say anything. And gave me the wrong color, the color i asked for was a darker shad. When paying i told her if i was going to receive some type of discount due to the severity of my cut and she said she can do $5 off. Which I didn't really care for the discount it was just the fact she did not even say sorry or seem apologetic at all. First time here since it's literally walking distance from my apartment. Came on Saturday and luckily Kevin was available. I called the day before for an appointment but they don't really do that so i got lucky not having to wait for him. Tried almond nails for the first time and he filed them a little too pointy towards the end. I liked the shape more before he put the powder on. He was really nice trying to find the right butterflies for me. A couple of nails do have bumps from the top coat going under the sticker but I'm not too bothered by it. Went with my mom at 7:40, online it said they close at 8:30 usually my pedicures take 30 minutes so I thought we were good, immediately the lady helping my mom had the biggest attitude and just seemed annoyed to be there. She was very rough with my mom having the water so hot, stretching her leg too high up, giving a half-a**ed massage, burning her with the hot towel she couldn't bother to shake out AND THEN SHE DIDN'T EVEN PAINT ONE OF HER TOES. She was on her phone for half of the time even while wearing dirty gloves! I was told her name is May. Whoever she was, she is the reason we will not be back.
