Strawberry & goat cheese danish, tomato danish, pb&j croiffin
    Laura C.

This was a recommendation from a friend of a friend who lives here and it very much feels like the "if you know, you know" type of local spot. We got there around 9am on a Sunday and there was a short line that moved quickly. Everything in the pastry case looked delicious. We got a tomato danish, a strawberry and goat cheese danish, and a peanut butter & jelly croiffin. The croiffin was the highlight of the show, the peanut butter cream wasn't dry at all and the pastry was crispy but not too flaky! There are a few seats inside and small tables outside, but I think it's mainly a takeaway spot.

Amazing pastries at this small bakery! They sell out fast, so make sure you come early. They have pastries that are staples and others that are seasonal. We loved the fresh fruit added to the pastries! The service was great! A customer accidentally dropped their pastry and they were nice enough to give them another one. Restrooms are sound back. Plenty of parking in the area.

Rhubarb tart, coffee cake, cinnamon bun, cheesecake

Delicious baked goods! Passing through on spring break and the reviews were right. Small, quaint place with outside seating. I wish I took a picture of the asparagus danish that were cooling down off to the side. Rhubarb tart - $11 a little steep and chewy Coffee cake - $4 Cinnamon bun - $4 Cheesecake - $6 light, not too sweet Latte with vanilla (extra $1) also yummy and sweet. Our fav breakfast place, wish it was open daily!

Could barely stop myself from buying everything in the display because they all looked so beautiful and tasty. Was hesitant about rhubarb flavor as I have never tried it before but their rhubarb cruffin and tart was so flavorful and surprisingly sweet. The lox toast was fresh and the bread was toasted perfectly. The apple and brie toast combination made for a unique yet delicious balance of flavor. Will definitely be coming back!

These were the flakiest croissants I've ever had! The almond croissant was my absolute favorite - perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and a delightfully crisp, golden exterior. The service was equally impressive - friendly and welcoming. After this experience, I completely understand why there's a line out the door.

This bakery is so cute and everything is so fresh. We came on a Sunday morning and there was a line, but that's how you know it's good. They have classic pastries/desserts but also some unique ones like basque cheesecake, yuzu & matcha pavlova, flan, and more. The store is small with a few indoor and outdoor seats. I would love to come back to try their pizzas on a Monday night! ig: @cravingswithcat

This is our absolute favorite bakery in SLO County and there are tons of good ones around here! We love everything we've had to date whether it's sweet or savory. Their pastries, chocolate, and other baked items are always balanced with the perfect amount of sweetness and hand made to impress from a visual standpoint as well. We've always had friendly service when we've dropped in. Smaller space that they do a good job of keeping the line moving at. Special shout out for their coffee offerings and pizza Monday's as well. The pizzas we had were superb with a phenomenal crust. Always worth the trip to Los Osos to head here for literally anything they make! Thanks Tim and team.

We had high hopes for this bakery and we weren't let down. Good flavor and lamination on the almond croissant. The chocolate eclair was good, but not mind blowing. The real stand out is the mushroom danish!

The best bakery in the county, if not the state. Period. The line out the door speaks for itself. The staff are happy and kind. Try literally anything seasonal, it'll blow your mind! And great pizza on Mondays. If only they were open 24/7...

A solid croissant, but my favorite by far was the canelé. I loved how much structure it had while still keeping a custardy interior! No crazy flavors or anything but a solid canelé that is the best by default. A bit out of the way but well worth the drive if you're passing through the area.

Would I sell my soul to the devil for one of Wayward's cookies? No...but I'd be open to a long term lease. They are that good.

Fantastic pastries and sandwiches. Line can be long on the weekend due to popularity, but the staff are sweet and efficient.

Devoured our croissants...and then had a few pieces of the Sicilian bread. Fantastic!!! Great ambiance, a legitimate bakery.

I purchased the pain au levain, in lieu of a baguette, for $12. The price is pretty steep for a loaf, but seems to be the going rate for these smaller boutique bake shops. The bread itself was warm when I purchased it, which was awesome. Enjoyed it with my coffee, but did find it to be a little doughy on the inside. Good flavor, but not something I would come back for. I'd rate it a solid 3.5. I also purchased the chocolate chip cookies. I think I completely went brain dead when I bought these, because I did read they were gluten-free and vegan, but still bought the pack of 6. Man, they looked like chocolate chip cookies, but didn't taste like chocolate to me, at all. For a regular chocolate chip cookie lover, it's a 1 star. For someone looking for a gluten-free and vegan cookie, this could be a winner. Maybe.

We were lucky enough to snag the last almond croissant, and what a treat it was. The exterior had a sweet, delicate crunch, and with each bite, rich almond filling oozed out for the perfect balance of texture and flavor. It wasn't overloaded with powdered sugar, and the sweetness was just right--indulgent without being overwhelming. I also tried a slice of the salmon and leek quiche. It was light and fluffy while still feeling substantial and satisfying. The combination of savory salmon and sweet leek worked beautifully together. Whether you're starting your morning or looking for a midday pick-me-up, the quiche is a must-try. I was excited to try the house made mango-infused black iced tea, but unfortunately, there was nothing mango flavored about it That said, this bakery is still well worth a visit. Between the pastries and quiche, it is an easy stop to recommend when you're in Morro Bay.
