    Mushroom, leek and kale quiche
    Kelly K.

My visits are hit or miss here. I ordered the mushroom, leek and kale quiche. I was served a slice or quiche that was still cold on one side and warm on the other side. It had a whole bunch of tomatoes. I do not eat tomatoes. I found no mushrooms in my slice. All of the tomatoes leaked their juices into the quiche so that the quiche did not set properly and was very runny. I was very disappointed. I would have returned it had I not had two dogs in tow. You can see in the photo that it is running and has all of these unexpected tomatoes on top. I love their outdoor seating area and that they provide doggy bowls and water. Service is always good. Unfortunately, quality varies per item ordered. The quiche was 12 dollars a slice. Pricey especially considering what I was served.

Stop by to try their almond croissant. They are really delicious and good! The croissant looks crusty but is actually light and crunchy on the bite. Generous, good ratio portion of almond filling to go with the croissant. I would love it even more if they make it stronger almond taste. Right now you can't quite taste the almond. The cranberry orange scone was good too.

Great little bakery. Got an almond danish, a coffee cake and they threw in a popover at no cost after I included a tip. All were delicious. Would come here again.

Bijou Bakery is a great spot for a casual meet-up with friends. I had the bacon quiche and it was really tasty, flaky crust and flavorful filling that hit the spot. They have plenty of outdoor seating, which made it perfect for our group to catch up over coffee and pastries without feeling cramped. The service was great and they brought all of our orders out quickly.

Best bakery!!! The ham and cheese croissant is the best I've ever had--crispy on the outside and perfectly filled on the inside. The strawberry scone is unbelievable, and the honey butter they pair with it makes it even better. Not to mention, they have excellent coffee and a cool outdoor seating area. Friendly staff, highly recommend.

This bakery is a must see . Arrive early as I've been told they sell out ,and I can see why . The bakery itself is cozy and inviting. The staff are so warm and friendly. The outdoor seating area is spacious. A great place to enjoy your sweet treats. I had the hardest times deciding between the coffee cake or the strawberry scone . I picked the scone and was even given honey butter to put on top . The scone was fresh, soft, and flavorful with chunks of real strawberry.Truly a mouthwatering experience. I highly recommend Bujou Bakery when visiting Cayucos beach.

Surprisingly small stall with a surprisingly large, and very quaint seating area.  The quiches were our favorite of the bunch of the breads here were fantastic as well. If you don't have time for a local restaurant or like eating something quick before starting your day instead, I would definitely recommend this place while staying in Cayucos/the surrounding area. Its a quick walk to the beach and antique stores.

I had to come in when I saw all the pictures of the popovers filled with pudding. Unfortunately, the popovers when I came did not have any filling in them but came with honey butter. The combo was good and I got some other baked items like a blueberry muffin, coffee cake, and crossiant. We ordered an americano and matcha tea latte to go. Overall, everything tasted okay, not great and not bad. If you're in the area, it's nice to get something but I wouldn't make the trip out here just for it. They have outdoor seating adjacent to the bakery that was very nice and accommodating to enjoy your items on the spot . We came with our 3 pups and the ladies were so sweet and gave them a treat. The service was great with prime location to the water.

We had seen this place before so today was the day to try it out. It's a small place with pastries. I ordered a croissant, my husband chose a blueberry muffin. My croissant was tasty and flaky, yum. There isn't a big selection and lots of things have nuts. My husband didn't have too many choices because he has a nut allergy and so his choices were limited. But its a cute spot to pick up something sweet.

We came back every day during our weekend trip to Cayucos because the baked goods and coffee were so good. The avocado toast was a hit too.

Felt like we were in a time warp that took us to the 1970's. Ok, if you are in the area highly recommend going. We were in Pismo for the weekend and the 30 minute drive was easy at 8:30am when we left. It opens at 9am so I thought it would be good to be there then. And so did about 80 people. The line was to the end of the block. Don't be deterred. We were striking up conversations with everyone around us. You order at the window, they give you a number for the table, and they bring out your food. Look for the sauces they keep above the sugar cream station. Onto the food! We got the San Luis Sunrise (free range eggs, Niman Ranch bacon ends, avocado, hk sauce) and the Mannix Machaca (scrambled eggs, slow cooked carnitas, hk green salsa, avocado, hk sauce). I thought by the look of it that the waffles would be the winner....nope! The blue corn flour tortilla Mannix Machaca won the day! Oh, and the ridiculous smoothly the Baywood Berry. One is enough for two and they'll split it for you. Put this place on your must try list!

This place is always top-notch, with friendly, attentive staff, delicious food, and a clean atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop in Cayucos! The food was quickly served, and delectable -- I had a vegetable omelet, with a generous side of delicious potatoes, which were crisp on the edges and well-seasoned. The overall atmosphere and food were great. Our first visit was so enjoyable, in fact, that we went back a second time soon after, perhaps only a week's time... and were disappointed. We simply ordered the same as we previously had, so no menu changes for us, yet the experience was a change for the worse. Our food took a surprisingly long time to arrive (there was no one else in the dining room), subjecting us to music that was not classic jazz, but pop radio. When the food finally arrived the side of potatoes was limited and soft. The serving of avocado that topped my omelet was also noticeably reduced. The tomatoes had changed from fresh to sun-roasted, and the spinach was barely there. The previously generous serving of fries on the side of my husband and son's burgers was also reduced. The servers were all very nice both times, but when the food is inconsistent at a restaurant, that is unsettling because you can never go with any confidence that you'll get what you expect.

They were really loud and basic. We found a table downstairs in the bar as far away from the band as possible. We couldn't even hear each other to talk- other groups were saying the same thing We ordered the calamari appetizer and then the fish and chips for my husband and the seared ahi with wasabi mashed potatoes for me. Everything came out all at once- and no one ever came to check on us. The fish and chips were good, my ahi was nice- but the potatoes were cold and it was covered in seaweed salad I had to pick off. Later I was trying to remember why I ordered the ahi over the halibut or the mahi mahi- looking at the menu it says the ahi has blue crab wasabi mashed potatoes- so that's why I ordered it. I had shared my meal with my hubby and so I asked him if he noticed/tasted any crab on the potatoes. Neither of us did- thinking they left it out. The calamari should have been the appetizer- but everything came all at once- I would rather have skipped them at that point. Hubby had to go up to the bar to get refills- he was gone a long time. When he came back he told me that they had him leave a credit card with them when he placed the order. We weren't drinking alcohol, so this didn't seem necessary. Had I known this, I would have suggested not even staying and finding a different restaurant. Well the bartender said he lost our credit card/ but would try to find it.... um, what!!!! They did finally find it about 20 minutes later. No apologies or anything other than dumping the check at the end of the table. So far, we haven't found any rando charges on our card from our dinner here... but watch your cards here We walked from our hotel- so we didn't have to deal with parking- but it would have been hard over the holiday weekend We did have a nice view of the beach- even better view from upstairs

All hard surfaces in a fairly small space meant that the any conversation anywhere added to a very high noise level even when the restaurant was only 2/3 full.
