Great place, really took us around the city and had a great time. Really a great way to see the entire city in two hours. Highly recommend it and you'll have memories for years

I took my 60 year old mother and 30 year old sister on a tour of San Diego with James from We Love Tourists. Despite the corny name, they were a really great outfit and had a humorous, pleasing tour. Here is what I like: 1. It's a small history tour! Always fun when you're in a new place. 2. Entertaining tour guide 3. You get to push these bad boys to their max speed a couple of times! WHEEEE!!! 4. Not too expensive! Sometimes they have deals, call and ask. I recommend doing this at the beginning of your stay- it's a great way to get a layout of the city and make mental notes of where you would like to return to and spend more time.

First off, I want to thank Bridgette for a great time. Going through beautiful La Jolla with my parents who were visiting while my stepdad not controlling his segway was a struggle but she handled it VERY well; with patience and skill. She made it a point to explain how to drive it and had great energy in helping us. I'm really glad we went even though he was out of control enough to make my Mom fall, she had her first aid kit ready to go and helped her out. It was such a beautiful day too! Gorgeous views, gorgeous houses and lots of great little facts about the city I never would have known without her knowledge. My only recommendation is not going with more than 3-4 people, if you get too far back, you can't really hear some of the tidbits while you're "driving" :) Which I didn't mind doing at all seeing as I was the only one who lived here in our group. Was a wonderful opportunity to show new people around, and even for those who want to learn a bit more about La Jolla or SD's history!

Segway Fun and Great way to see the city!

What a great a fun way to see a place and get around town! My family was visiting and we decided to try a Segway tour. You see them around town, even on vacation, and you always wonder what it's like. Let's be real, they're kind've dorky and we've all made that face- ugh, segways! Yet, they look fun...they are!! They zip around up to 12mph and are quite comfortable and easy to ride and maneuver once you get acclimated to it. Try as you might, they don't exceed 12mph so don't waste your time or energy to amp it up any faster because it's just not going to happen. We ended up booking the 2 site tour which included downtown, Gaslamp, Balboa Park and the Harbor. I called and spoke to Chris the day before who happened to have some openings on a Sunday afternoon. Chris was very professional, efficient and friendly. He was detailed and gave us all the instructions we needed along with email and confirmation. There are 2 locations so depending on which tour you book will determine which location you go to. Obviously, the tour we took lands us downtown as a starting point so you may need to get there earlier to find parking. Also note, parking downtown isn't always free so that may be an additional cost you will incur unless you go on Sunday, like we did and can find street parking. The other tour they off is the La Jolla/Beach tour which sounds really nice too. The guys at the business office were also very friendly and had a very laid back vibe that was easy-going and chill. Albert, one of the owners is also a big foodie so you can dish with him about favorite places to grub. Unfortunately, our tour started 15-20min late as the other part of our group was tardy but that's no fault of the tour. The tour guide was nice and had a good sense of humor which he incorporated at many stops along the way. The only downside was at times the areas we were at could be quite loud from street traffic and/or crowds and the guide spoke extremely fast and could be difficult to hear. Otherwise, he kept good track of everyone and made sure to give any specific instructions, if needed when we were traveling along certain roads/areas (eg. getting uphill/downhill, watching for speed bumps). My favorite stop was Balboa Park for sure. It was nice to get around to all the different parts of the park and also learn about some of the culture and area that I wasn't familiar with. I believe they limit the tour to 6 people max not including the tour guide which makes it nice that it's a smaller group. Lots of fun and great way to tour a city including your own!

What an awesome Segway tour. James went all around town and we saw a little bit of everything- the hills, historical sites, the beaches, seals and sea lions, LaJolla downtown, and more. His trivia knowledge was great and his jokes were pretty funny. I'd recommend doing the tour because you get a way better experience than just walking around on your own. Plus, you can cover more area on a Segway. Definitely a must do in San Diego!

    Segway tour of La Jolla

What a fantastic and unique way of exploring a city. We had a blast. The tour of La Jolla has very interesting facts and great views. Bridgette, our guide, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. She took the time to make sure we were comfortable prior to venturing out. I was surprised how easy it was to ride a Segway. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this for tourists or locals wanting to try something different.

We got the gaslamp segway tour deal on groupon for $50. If you want to add ppl to your party, they will add them for the same price. The tour guide was knowledgeable and even showed us things that were new to me (we're native SD). Great experience, would do it again in a heart beat. U wore flip flops but I'd feel more comfortable with shoes.

Had my sister visiting and thought a Segway tour of La Jolla would be a great way to show her my area.. wow I was right. We were both first timers to the Segway experience but Ryan was super sweet and helpful and made sure we were comfortable in the practice area before hitting the streets. It was a beautiful day and Ryan made sure we had waters, could take stops and bathroom breaks if needed and was really knowledgeable about La Jolla and made sure to provide us with really cool bits of information along the way. Cannot wait for my next visitor so I have another excuse to do this again! Definitely would recommend to anyone that wants to take the stress out of showing their area to family and friends. Thanks We Love Tourists!!

    Amazing Segway tour!

I did the We Love Tourists Segway tour roughly 5 years ago. It was that good I had to come back! James was a amazing tour guide! He has a great sense of humor. ALSO, We left our rental keys inside the Segway pouch and he came all the way back to get them for us! He was super nice about it. BEST WAY TO SEE LA JOLLA without a doubt!!!

Best way to see the SD sights!

I had never been on a Segway and was a little apprehensive about riding one in La Jolla with all the hills.

There is paid parking, but there's also plenty of free street parking around if you search for it…read moreand keep in mind for the signs that are posted around. It's a must stop if you're in San Diego and it's worth a visit too, even if you're not planning on paying for any of the tours or the tourist spots. Lots of historical architecture, including authentic adobe buildings, statues, signs, and themed shops and such. Each time I've gone here it's been lively, especially so during the holiday season with the decor and the live music playing in the main central square. Lots of photo opportunities and shops and such to peruse and look around. Easy to grab souvenirs here as well and depending on what you're looking for, there may be more than one shop offering it (cultural souvenirs and pieces). Great to shop for outdoor garden decor (little statues and wind chimes) too. There's also toy stores, a hot sauce store, a "Chinese" themed store which is quite funny to visit, and lots of spots to grab food too, sit down and dine in or casual take out. I personally like the churro and champurrado place when it's open. There's a couple restrooms here too, but can get crowded and a bit gross with the large volume of people visiting. Free house museums for self tours where you just walk through and read the little signs that they have, and sometimes there's historical actors as well, which is always a treat.

If you've grown up in Los Angeles, chances are you've been to Old Town in San Diego. It's a pretty…read moreeasy drive, but feels like you've entered another world. The building were settled to feel like stepping into San Diego at the turn of the 19th century. If you focus on the history of the landscape and the structures themselves, looking beyond the carts filled with modern day tchotchkes and souvenirs, you can definitely appreciate what it must have been like. We were in SD for a game at Petco. I wanted to stay in the Old Town area because I have only ever done day, or once an evening, trips to Fiesta plaza and the restaurants and scores of stores along San Diego Ave, to the east of the OTSDSHP, but never really explored this neighborhood beyond the usual tourist spots. What a treat it was to enjoy this beautiful park at night, long after tourists had departed, and while a few locals remained for a last call, or to close down their stalls and shops for the night. This park takes on a rather special feel, more personal and slightly spookier than I imagined. We felt very safe walking around the grounds at night. Saw a few SDPD patrolling the perimeters, making sure late night bar goers minded their Ps & Qs, as well a a few other couples just strolling around, enjoying the soft lighting and old world charm. Many people and reviews will tell you about the great shops, food and margaritas to be had in Old Town and I fully concur! There's just nothing like a fresh made, hot, buttery flour tortilla and a margarita larger than your head on a warm , sunny day. But, if you can, come check out the area around 9pm and stroll the grounds, reading the various building and history plaques. Crowds have departed and not much, if anything is still open, but the quiet beauty of the park at night is time well spent reflecting on what it must've been like to settle in this beautiful region over 200 years ago. Cheers! "CC"
