I needed a quick haircut…read moreand was actually on my way to another barber shop this morning, but I saw the door open and Fred doing some work outside, so I decided to give it a shot. First off, the owner, Fred, is an incredibly nice guy. A little bit intense at first, but clearly very passionate about his work and his community, and charismatic as well. I can't speak for any other barbers who work here, but Fred's attention to detail was on point and resulted in one of the better haircuts I've gotten in a long time. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, and the haircut was top notch. I will definitely be back.

TBH, I was slightly shocked by haircut prices around here. I called Fresh Cuts, and was quoted $25! I walked in, no appointment, and Daniella, a lovely young woman, listened patiently as I explained what I wanted, and showed her a couple of pictures. She gave me a fabulous cut! She's also very pleasant. They don't shampoo your hair, or do blowouts. Both of these work for me, as I prefer to use my own products and air-dry my hair. If you want a shampoo and blow-dry, this is not the place for you. It is a barber shop, not a salon. Very no-frills. But I got a great haircut at a great price, so I'm happy. Let me say, to have the boldness to charge a WHOPPING $35 for a regular haircut in today's market and during these difficult times, is a bit of a risk. However, if the service is actually comprehensive and you feel awesome afterwards, I could MAYBE see that it could be "worth" the extra money you are paying as opposed to other shops. The younger gentleman that cut my hair was friendly enough, but I could tell that the experience level was definitely on the lower end. The haircut itself was just "OK", but some major takeaways are that the barber didn't wet down the hair before cutting with scissors (that's a first for me), he did not offer to show the back of my head with a mirror, no offer to trim eyebrows, no hot shave of back of neck with fresh razor, kept spinning my seat around over and over because he was too lazy to walk around, and no offer for gel or hairspray. These are pretty much industry standards for any decent barbershop. If barbershops that are at least $13 less than this place offer all of these services AND provide a better haircut, there is absolutely zero reason to ever come back here IMO. Very disappointed. Missed opportunity for this location that has residential townhouses within walking distance. So annoyed. Overall, thumbs way down. A generous 1 star.
