I highly recommend this place. The staff are friendly and the drinks are great. My only minor issue is that they charge for tastes. I've never been to another wine bar that does this, but I still feel all the positives far outweigh this one negative. I asked for a sample of the aged dark balsamic and a sample of the olio nuovo (new olives) which is their premium limited batch first press olive oil. Their vinegars were not that great, didn't have much flavor and had too much vinegary kick. Good vinegar is supposed to be incredibly complex and smooth in flavor. Would give them a 2/5 on the vinegar alone. The olive oil is where I feel this place really shines. In particular, their Olio Nuovo is really punchy and flavorful. I would give this place a 4.5/5 based on the quality of the olive oils. So come here and give things a try -- make sure to skip the vinegar! read more

We popped in here while walking around Los Gatos. We were looking for some gifts to send home with family who were visiting. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have lots of lovely oils, vinegars, and olives. We were able to sample a few items and shows several things for gifts. I got the number 7 Sauvignon blanc. I have to say it was one of the tastiest Sauvignon blancs I've ever had. I also took advantage of the Yelp check in free bread plate. Lack of engagement by one of the servers. Did not make eye contact when spoken to. Did not respond to the suggestion made about an appetizer. Instead the server scrolled through his phone the entire time. I had kinder staff when I was there about a year ago. I typically would stay for another glass of wine. Doesn't look like I am going to return anytime soon. Did not feel valued. The hummus dish vegetables were left as they were large and chunky, difficult to chew. Hailey and Shay waited on me and my friend. It was my friend's first visit. I recommended Tempranillo and my friend loved it. I love that they have Taste between three and five dollars or a glass between $14-$17 or a bottle. I also recommended the Albarino if you're a white wine drinker. I liked it better than their Sauvignon Blanc. Lastly, I recommended we get two different dips with their crackers, bread and veggies, their prosciutto wrapped dates, and their flatbread pesto with chicken. My friend and I loved everything we ate, and my friend was glad that I knew what to order because she was done making decisions. Not only was a service excellent, but we actually saw a bug on the wall and they captured it and gave us a free drink for telling them about it. Normally the place is very clean and I'm sure the bug got in because the door got opened. They took care of us and I'm definitely going back! So glad we stumbled upon this place! Originally, we were just looking to purchase a few items at the store, but noticed a wine bar towards the back of the room, connected to an extremely cute (and dog-friendly) back patio. We were seated in a shady area on some very cushy couches, and immediately approached by a friendly server. All the wines were available by the taste, glass, or bottle, so we ended up just getting four tastes each to create a makeshift wine flight. The wines were excellent, so we then ordered a glass of our favorites. For snacks, we got the Artisan Cheese board (totally worth it, so good), and our server brought out an Olive Oil Tasting and some warm bread, without us even asking. The olive oils were extremely unique (Sriracha Lime, Meyer Lemon Peach, etc.) and soooo tasty. The vibes on the patio were immaculate and we had a great time. My first experience olive oil tasting was here and it was amazing! The waiter and staff were super friendly and gave great recommendations on food and olive oils. The best ones were the garlic olive oil and blackberry balsamic. A good tip would be to bring your own jars to fill up with whatever oils your heart desires, since you can pay per ounce here. Highly recommend As someone who is studying California wines, this place has been a saving grace for me. It has a well curated list of over 30 wines. All have tasting pour options, with the majority ranging from $2-5. This is an extremely reasonable price considering full bottle price of ~$30+. These aren't some cheap bottom shelf wines either. These are high quality wines from good producers. My favorite part of this place is the variety of single varietals and blends! While they have classics like Napa Cab, Paso Rhône's, and Santa Barbara Chard, they do an amazing job showcasing lesser known varietals and regions. For example, Picpoul from Arroyo Seco, Anderson Valley Rosé that blends Italian and Rhone varietals, and a delicious Merlot-Albariño sparkler Cute back patio is great for hanging out and casual conversations. Not pretentious at all. Good sized menu for snacks and light bites. I like to get the freshly toasted bread with the olive-balsamic dipping oil ($4). The oils are very high quality. There's a frequent buyers club and a discount if you bring the bottle back. If olive oil isn't your thing, there's a decent amount of specialty foodstuff. We're partial to their gf herb crackers and almond brittle. Fun to browse what's new. While I wouldn't call We Olive a full restaurant, it's a nice place to meet a friend for a bite of food: snacks, salads, or flatbreads. Chopped Salad: Our favorite menu item. Arugula and spinach, olives and mozzarella, and pepperoni. Yup sliced pepperoni. Yum. There's a veggie version too. Burrata and Honey Flatbread: Burrata and olive tapenade on house made (I think) flatbread. Also pepperoni. Are you sensing a pattern? [Major Gripe] The gf version of the flatbread used to be good. Definitely the highlight of my visit to Los Gatos. We were looking to kill a little time before meeting up with some other folks for drinks and dinner. In strolling along we saw the inside of an olive oil and wine shop. Glancing towards the back, we saw some people enjoingbsamples. So, that brought us to a screeching halt. We read the signage and walked around to the back and entered into a lovely wine garden area. The service we had on this visit was above reproach. The options on the menu were very enjoyable. And, all of this is obviously geared towards wine aficionados, but they actually had some interesting beer selections for those of us who were so inclined. The Marcona almonds, which we dipped in artisanal and flavored house olive oils, paired so beautifully with our drinks on this day. We came for an afternoon wine tasting on a whim on Christmas Eve, and ended up falling in love. We got a custom Wine Flight, a couple of cocktails, and an Olive Oil & Balsamic Tasting. Service was amazing (we love you Lane!), and the outside patio with heating was such a lovely environment! We didn't get any food because we had dinner plans, but I know we will next time we stop in! After our tasting we got 2 bottles: 1 of their blood orange olive oil and 1 of their pomegranate balsamic, both of which are STELLAR. And if you save the bottles, you can get refills at a major discount! Had a mostly good experience with this place recently. The selection was excellent, something for everyone, and I was happy to also be able to sample several different oils and vinegars. (Meyer lemon olive oil, and peach vinegar were the best combo). The guy inside was welcoming and the initial server was knowledgeable and fun (can't remember his name). Loved this place! I used to always walk by and pass this unassuming little gem. I'm a huge fan of olive oil and vinegar and I'm always looking for ways to spice up my dishes. We Olive gives me so many choices that perfectly incorporate into my dishes. I really enjoyed their olive oil and vinegar tasting and really appreciated that they paired some of the options together. I also happen to be very hungry the day I visited so I ordered their habanero hummus as well. My friend and I really enjoyed the hummus. It had a little bit of a kick to it but I actually would've preferred it a little bit more spicy. I enjoyed that they showcased their own olive oil by using it on the hummus to give it that additional kick. I really enjoy the wide selection of olive oil and vinegar's they offered for purchase- they definitely have something for everyone. My favorite thing about We Olive is that they have a variety of sizes you can choose from when purchasing bottles of your favorite olive oil and vinegar's. The best part of it is that you can bring your own clean reusable containers, bottles or jars to be refilled. This allows you to purchase only as much as you would like to use at a very reasonable price, helps prevent waste and saves time when you want to transfer your new olive oil's to your desired container of choice. I personally love the peach vinegar, blackberry vinegar, fresh garlic olive oil, basil olive oil and lemon olive oil. I have brought my own mason jars for refills and have sent multiple friends to do the same. A couple little things that I would improve, firstly I think as great as the olive oil tasting is, when I am trying a new olive oil and vinegar for the first time I don't want to take a shot of it. I like to be able to dip bread and properly try and enjoy the different olive oils I'm tasting and those minuscule cubes of bread don't cut it for me. Same with the habanero hummus, the vegetables are nice but the grilled bread was a great touch. I would've appreciated more of that. Finally I would have loved to have been walked through the tasting a bit more. Some of the things I would l have liked to learn about include different uses for the oils and vinegars in cooking, where they were all sourced, what kind of olives were used to make the oils, how long the vinegars were aged and just some more knowledge about what I was tasting overall. I understand that it's not a full tasting like what you would get in Napa but I would have be happy to have the options to pay a bit more for the full experience and I definitely think it would have sold me on purchasing even more. read more
