gilda - anchovy, guindilla, manzanilla olive

We've been to Madrid and Barcelona where we experienced Tapas in their homeland (or at least one of their homelands). It was great but we've never really had as good an experience in the US until now. In fact, we would rate PintxoPote higher than the places we went to in Spain in all respects except price This is a nice little restaurant in Los Gatos that has been around for a few years. It was the occasion of my wife's birthday and our daughter and fiancé were hosting us. The staff is friendly and accommodating; the interior is pleasant and not overdone. The food is excellent and all our questions well answered by our attendant, who I think is also one of the owners. We really went for a great selection of items which are well cataloged and annotated in the photos I uploaded. Prices are all included in the menu photo. My favorites were: 1. The rack of lamb (costillar de cordero) was awesome! The meat was very high grade with excellent texture and flavor. The stack of potatoes in the middle of the star of lamb chops was to die for. 2. The embutidos de bellota (100% acorn iberico, chorizo, salchichon) was great. Just check out the photo - it looks great too. The paper thin slices of sausage were excellent. I really liked the chorizo with its mild spice but heavy smoke. 3. The cani cabra a la planta (goat cheese, pistachio, passion fruit, sherry vinegar reduction) looks and tastes great. I love the caramel top and fruity elements. Everything else was great, too with the possible exception of the albondigas (wagyu meatballs) which I found to be pretty much good meatballs to me. I liked them but don't need to go get them again because they are kind of expensive to be ... meatballs. That said, service is on point and I would go again!

Great food and service. I ordered all my favorites: Indurain - bonito tuna belly, anchovy, guindilla, olive on a skewer Indurain blanco - bonito tuna belly, boqueron, guindilla, olive, onion bell pepper (next time I won't order both, just this one) costillar de cordero - rack of lamb (must order early as it takes 30 minutes) and it was cooked the way I like it - medium rare pulpo a la plantxa - griddled octopus on cauliflower purée albondigas 100% wagyu meatballs, piquillo pepper sauce, gluten-free cani cabra a la plantxa - goat cheese, pitachio, passion fruit, sherry vinegar reduction (I could have eaten the whole thing by myself) tabla quesos - selection of Spanish cheeses embutidos de bellota - 100% acorn iberico, chorizo, salchicho brocheta de gambas - shrimp on a stick postre - warm flourless chocolate cake, ice cream, raspberry coulis 1 glass of Embruix (Priorat) - paired VERY well with the food, a red wine blend (no wonder I liked it) 1 glass Marques de Murrieta (Rioja) - super mild in flavor. Everything I ordered was delicious and well prepared. Angie was friendly, informative, and made sure she explained everything before ordering.

Wagyu beef meatballs - one portion is not enough - I wanted to take a dozen home for later!!!

We are always looking for good, classic but fresh Spanish food in the South Bay - as I have spent time working in Spain. A colleague told me about PinxtoPote and the very same evening my wife and I were at a table at 7pm. The service was incredibly warm and so friendly and the ambience helped us relax from a long week. The menu was incredible - a combination of special dishes that we familiar with and a sprinkling of their own blend. We were blown away by dish after dish and had an absolutely amazing evening. If you want to experience true Spanish hospitality and very special food and wine then I would highly recommend PinxtoPote. This is the closest I've tasted to Spain in the US.

An amazing slice of Spain tucked away in the corner of a strip mall! We felt like we were on vacation with an incredibly warm and welcome staff patiently walking us through the tapas menu. We loved everything we got, with perfect execution served hot to the table, but the standouts were - skewers with poached tuna belly, anchovie, olive and pepper--a one bite wonder with an eye opening flavor combination - garlic shrimp, with a superb, subtle garlic sauce - bacon wrapped dates with sea salt - piping hot light potato chorizo pepper omelette - a unique combination of creamy goat cheese, passion fruit, pistachio - grilled garlic oyster mushrooms Prices were reasonable, service was fast and personal, clean ambience. Will definitely be back!

This is an absolute hidden gem in Los Gatos with service that makes you feel like you've entered into the home of the sweetest family. Come here when you want to have a slow meal to catch up with friends or a romantic evening. The food is exquisite, though there are fewer options for vegetarians. I was still able to have asparagus, olives, roasted carrots, a cheese plate, bread with olive oil, and an absolutely divine gazpacho that was off-menu. Plus the chocolate raspberry cake was the perfect way to top off the meal!

Hard to find restaurant tucked away in the Coldwell Banker plaza. Our friends found this place and set up a dinner for 3 couples. The place is quite cozy. There are only 3 tables that can seat 4 or more patrons. The rest are pub table for 2 and then the long bar seating. We were cozy with 6 people crammed into the 4 person booth as the large tables were already occupied. It's hard to say anything bad when there are two older entrepreneurs who take pride in the dishes that they serve. And to run a business in Los Gatos must be difficult due to the rents. So I commend them for doing what they love. The food was good. The service was good. But I'm not a tapas fan to begin with. The lamb though was fantastic, the shrimp was excellent and the octopus was cooked to perfection with a great sauce! I took pics of what I could as people dug in and it wasn't picture worth then. The presentation of the dishes are good. The menu is limited so for vegetarians, there is not too much to eat. Our guest at least age eggs, so she munched on the appetizers and had the egg omelette for dinner. The place is certainly worth going to to support the owners and try this out

This was a nice experience. First time having Spanish tapas in the Bay Area. Their selection is interesting. As another reviewer mentioned, definitely be informed about the menu as some items are priced per piece and some come with a few pieces. We didn't see paella on the menu, but would like to try it next time.

Came here about seven years ago and never went back. Friends and I dined here for a girl's night, but this time, it was me and the hubby. He was so proud of himself bc he found this place himself; usually I do all the research and make all the reservations, but not this time. We arrived at 6:45pm and this place was almost fully packed. We tried to ask if we could switch to the bar, but it was already filled for the night. Angie initially took our order and helped us with the menu (she is soooo thorough with her descriptions of each item). As it got busy, Hector also helped serve our table; both were awesome. We had some ideas of what to order, but Angie's descriptions of everything was soooo good we just kinda let her pick most of our stuff. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious. Note that this is Spanish tapas, so portions are small and meant to be shared and eaten in one or two bites. I did remember that when we first came some years ago, service was slow, and although it was not as bad this time, they can benefit from another server. The manager came by later to thank us for coming in and explained that they had not been this busy since the pandemic. I'm glad to hear they are doing better, and well. Some side notes: Corkage is $25 although they have an extensive list of offerings. Parking is easy; there is a stand-alone lot. Will definitely come back. This is as close as it gets to SPAIN!

Came by the other night for dinner and it was a tasty experience. Made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. Parking was plentiful in the strip mall. Our waitress, Angie, was super sweet, wearing a mask covering her mouth and nose the entire evening while carefully going over the menu giving us recommendations! She also took the time to check-in with us periodically throughout the evening! Started off the meal with the boquerones, white anchovies from the Cantabria sea cured in olive oil and they were tasty! The side of bread complemented this nicely! Moved on to the embutidos de bellota featuring 100% acorn, chorizo, salchichon and this was a phenomenal appetizer! Smaller portions and perfect for ordering more! The cani cabra a la plantxa featuring warm goat cheese, pistachio, passion fruit, and sherry vinegar reduction was also phenomenal! This also complemented the complimentary bread nicely! The tortilla española with potato and onions was like an omelet that was cooked perfect with eggs that were medium. The highlight of the meal was the costillar de cordero featuring moruno spiced rack of lamb that was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The side of fried potatoes were excellent too! The lamb was flavorful and juicy. The chef even came out personally to check in on how the lamb came out! The esparragos a la plantxa with organic asparagus, olive oil, pepper, maldon flake salt was also delicious! Clientele at the restaurant were definitely on the affluent side being in Los Gatos, judging by the volume of late-model high-end luxury vehicles in the lot although the attire was on the casual end. ~$90/head after tax and gratuity for dinner.

    huevos con jamon ..so good!
    Jerry Y.

Pros: - Local / Mom&pop shop with an excellent menu! Some of my favorites are the wagyu and the huevos con jamon that are to die for! Hector (head chef) does an excellent job and came to talk to us at the end of his shift. Super friendly and knowledgable guy! - Very intimate setting which makes it an idea place for a date or hanging with friends where you can hear each other talk and reminds you of being in Spain! - Service was excellent. Super friendly staff who is very attentive and working hard to meet the customer needs Cons: - Very tight space so might not be good for kids and a reservation is recommended - Prices are fair, but can be on the higher side - Portions are typically smaller since its a tapas joint, so don't going in expecting a huge meal then complain later that its not enough. it Tapas! that's how these places work :) Overall, Excellent food and environment while supporting the local community. Definitely will return!

I really really really enjoy tapas and was very excited to come to PintxoPote but left somewhat disappointed by the overall meal. For the cold pintxos, we ordered the Gilda (Anchovy), Huevo Gamba (Shrimp & Egg), Indurain (Anchovy+Tuna Belly) and the Boquerones (White Anchovies). The Huevo Gamba was my favorite as it had of the creaminess of a deviled egg + the acidity from the cornichon for a balanced bite. Each of the others were similar and overall I think they tended to be on the saltier/acidic side. They don't give you enough bread to help soak the acidity from the tapas which it so desperately needs. The Tabla Kursaal charcuterie board was good and I particularly enjoyed the chorizo sausage. I was disappointed by the Iberico Ham which is surprising since I always find it to be the best thing at most other places. Not so much here. It tasted a bit drier than usual and maybe would have been better with a dash of olive oil to bring it to life more. For the hot pintxos, we got the Pulpo (Octopus), Delicia (Dates), Setas Asadas (Cremini Mushrooms), and Huevos con Jamon (Eggs, Ham, potato chips). Pulpo - Undercooked and was a bit grimy/gritty in the middle. The cauliflower puree had very little flavor. Sadly very underwhelming. Delicia - Poor execution. The bacon was dry and not crispy/tender. I think the flavors are there but the bacon texture tasted like it was sitting out for a while under a heat lamp. Huevos con Jamon - A very good and delicious dish that reminds you of breakfast with the eggs over soft potato chips/fries. The added serrano ham doesn't bring much flavor to the dish. Overall it's good but these flavors I'm sure everyone has had before. Albondigas - Meatballs were cooked alright, a bit dry for my liking. But I wasn't a fan of the sauce it came with. It had a very turmeric-indian flavor profile that was fine but not great. We could only get reservations for the bar seating and really wish we had table. Even in these pandemic-times, they sit you right next to another party with very little space in between. You are practically touching elbows. This was very uncomfortable and made for an unpleasant seating arrangement. I've had better tapas place elsewhere and recommend checking out some other ones. PintxoPote is fine, but for the price you pay, I'm expecting great.

The server's recommendations for wine food pairing was on point!

PintxoPote is definitely my top spot for Spanish Tapas. The servers, chef, and food runners are all great. They are passionate, knowledgeable, personable, and really take the time to make you feel like you are their most important guest. I love how intimate it feels. It's as if I am having a dinner party with my bestie and new friends from Spain. The food is great, it is nice they offer a menu but to be honest almost unnecessary. The server walks you through a very personalized set of recommendations with sincere and thoughtful descriptions. My friend and I were on our bestie date and ordered: 2 plates of boquerones (white anchovies), jamon (thinly sliced acorn fed serrano ham), wagyu ribeye, brocheta de gambas (shrimp on a skewer). The boquerones, jamon, and steak & potatoes are a must have! The boquerones and jamon were paired with a refreshing glass of white wine. One of my fave ways to start a Spanish dinner. We wanted our wagyu ribeye rare. The chef kindly asked us if we would like the caps trimmed and grilled into crispy bites to avoid chewy chunks of fat. It was such a pleasant suprise. The bites were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside... the perfect pairing for the bottle of rioja El Puntido recommended to us. Can't wait to come back!

I am a big advocate for trying new things every time I go to a restaurant, but it was so good I ordered the same thing the second time I went. Arancini is flavored with Japanese curry with creamy fontina in the center topped off with kimchi mayo. Holy f. These quite literally put the traditional Italian ones to shame (sorry not sorry). Next was the bucatini. It had tom yum butter, lime, basil- all the fix ins of what you want from tom yum flavors with the luxuriousness added from the butter. It was sinful. Last and certainly not least, is the pork katsu. I cannot even remember the last time I ordered a pork katsu, but something told me to order it. Thank God I did, as it quite literally changed my life. If they ever take it off the menu I am not sure I would be OK. It is crispy and is swimming in this koji butter, but the key is that it is NOT greasy. I quite literally think about it all the time. To the point where I had it twice in a week. Service was great, bartenders are so friendly. The place is cute and vibrant. Keep in mind it is small- limited seating inside and a small patio outside. But so worth the wait. For food, we shared everything: tuna wonton tacos, prawn cigars, duck with risotto, scallops, and brussel sprouts. This was the perfect amount of food, as we left full and satisfied but not stuffed. The tuna wonton tacos had a good amount of tuna, and had a such a punch of (well-balanced) flavors; I loved the touch of heat. The duck was also incredibly tender with a crispy outside, and I think the natural fattiness / oiliness of the duck paired well with the relatively sharp, Parmesan flavor of the risotto. I also enjoyed the flavors and sauces with the other dishes but those two aforementioned were my favorite. Lastly, the bread pudding for dessert was excellent! It was the perfect size to share, and I loved the various crunchy "garnishes", from the graham cracker crumbs to the caramelized sugar piece and the little chocolate balls. Will definitely come back again to try more of the menu!

The restaurant is very calm and is great for many occasions, such as date night or girls night. I was impressed at how picturesque the restaurant was and the addition of the flowers on our table. The background looked great in our photos. We ordered the prime filet steak bites for our appetizer. Our entrees were Jumbo Lobster Tail and Mary's Airline Chicken. The portions were small and comfortable for 2 people. The lobster tail was tasty and the steak bites were tender; both meals were delicious. The meals were on the pricey side. The servers were nice to us. The restaurant is cozy and pretty quiet. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a new place to try out in Saratoga.

TLDR: Top 5 pork chops…read more So, my wife loves pork chops. For her birthday, I decided to find a place with good chops. It was a bit tougher than expected. I wanted a restaurant that serves nice THICK pork chops, grilled to perfection. Seems like a lot of them are located around Los Gatos... So here we are, for her special day! The best porkchop she's had in California was in Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately, I think the restaurant has closed... It was called Cetrella. But Asa might have the second best pork chop she's ever had. And so, since Cetrella has closed, this has become the new de-facto best porkchop! For that reason, this place gets 5 stars. I had a bit of it. It was cooked so well, white flesh all around, no pink at all. I think it was grilled and not sous-vide because she's had it done SV style and it still wass pink in the middle, even though it was all "thoroughly cooked". But despite the well-done, it was still juicy and soft! Pork is SOOO Easy to get dry. And especially since this is a thick chop. It was great! And no sauce... just an herb rub. I ordered the steak... it was cooked well. I've had better, and I generally prefer rib-eye over New York. But it wasn't bad at all. Just a little chewier than I would have liked. Plus $50 for a 12 oz, seemed a bit steep. I'd rather have ordered the pork chop. We also ordered the Chili Fries, which were a little too salty. But the taste was really good, and the fries were crunchy. If you dip them in the aioli, it's not as salty. For special occasions, my wife likes to treat herself to a cocktail. She really liked the Peach Punch with the Clarified Milk. It had a heavy dose of rum, and not too sweet. Plus it looked very pretty! We had 3 desserts! The basque cheesecake was ok... it looked deflated on one side, so it didn't look that appetizing. The taste was ok, it's not my favorite type of cheesecake... too airy for my taste. Almost like a souffle. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies though! Freshly baked, huge and gooey. It was definitely worth the $15 for the 4 cookies. Worthy of some of the best bakeries I've been to! Finally, for her birthday celebration, the restaurant gave my wife a complimentary cocktail ice cream. It's kinda funny, she could really taste the alcohol, whereas all I could taste was the banana. But we both agreed it was a great ice cream. She hates ice cream and she still finished almost a third of it! The ambiance is a bit loud. Not a romantic atmosphere, but it's not a club atmosphere either. The service was great... the waiter and busboys were super attentive to us, even though the place was pretty packed. The host was also super friendly. Highly recommend this place! The one bad thing about this is, since it's attached to the Best Western, it's hard to find parking. Most places say it's for hotel parking only, so you'd have to generally park on the street, unless you get really lucky and find a non-hotel parking spot in the lot.

To eat three of us shared some apps, mains, and desserts. We started with the Mixed greens and heirloom beets salad and Delicata squash, then got the Mushroom pasta and Argentinian steak, and finished with the Molten chocolate bomb and Basque style cheesecake. The starters were good, they just weren't my first choice, there were others on the seafood section that I wanted to try more, but that's a reason to go back. Both entrées were great, the steak was cooked perfectly with the most delicious chimichurri, and I couldn't get enough of the mushroom pasta. I would get either of these again. I was still a little hungry after the food, but that left room for dessert and not leaving the restaurant uncomfortably stuffed. We brought our own bottle of wine but also got cocktails there. I didn't like my cocktail very much, but everyone else liked thiers, and I tried a sip of the martini and really liked that. They did have a pretty massive wine selection, so very easy to find something you'll like. We made fairly last minute reservations the day before we wanted to go, three of us looked and all got different availability options on open table, but luckily it allowed me to book. The only option was the covered outdoor patio on what was a very intense rainy night, but that patio is sturdy and rain resistant. It was filled with heaters and stayed very warm, if I weren't sat right next to the opening I wouldn't have been able to tell it was raining.

If you're hoping to sit inside, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was wonderful from start to finish. My friend and I both ordered the smash burger and I've got to say it was easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. The sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and absolutely delicious. And whatever you do, DO NOT skip the bread pudding. It was a 1000/10! Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and the texture was incredible. If you're on the fence about dessert, just order it, you won't regret it. The only minor downside was that the sodas were very flat and tasted a bit syrupy. Other than that, everything was fantastic. The prices were reasonable, the portions were generous, and the overall experience was excellent for such a cute spot in downtown Los Gatos. Will definitely be returning soon!

The jam was delicious and made it worth getting. - breakfast sandwich: not my favorite. I think spinach would have paired better than the arugula but that's my preference. The croissant was not as soft as I would have liked and tasted a little stale. Overall, not much flavor. - hash-browns. These were good! Best part of my meal. Cooked perfectly: soft on the inside with a nice crispy outside. - fried chicken sandwich: it was supposed to come with Dutch crunch but it didn't- sad. Also the breading was not very crispy or flavorful. The fries were the best part of this meal. The fries were the right balance of crispy and soft. The potatoes saved the meal. Wouldn't come back but it was to try it.
