I think he wanted to make the screaming match a physical altercation. He is old and cranky and needs to get out of working with the public. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was cold and hostile. The service? Absolutely unacceptable. A heavyset white woman with short hair -- who was clearly not happy to see people like us -- immediately started questioning our English. Mind you, we were communicating just fine. Still, she continued to belittle us, asking if we "even understood" what she was saying, in front of other customers. It didn't stop there. The owner, "Dave", came over while we were calmly sitting down and filling out the forms. He suddenly turned on my brother's wife, demanding that she speak English only, and his tone was aggressive and demeaning. That was the final straw. We ripped up the papers, stood up, and decided we were not going to spend a dime in a place that treats people this way. And just when we thought it was over -- Dave came outside and started taking pictures of our license plates, as if we had done something wrong. Apparently, walking away from their dirty little business upset him. To make things worse, we later found reviews saying they keep the $500 deposits from customers. This whole operation feels like a scam with a side of racism. Thanks for ruining our weekend, Cap'n Dave's. We will never come back -- and we'll make sure others know what you really are.

A quick google search revealed Barkley Watersports, and we booked in advance of our trip. The team was a breeze to work with - the day of the rental the weather looked questionable, but they offered to be flexible with our booking time to accommodate. In the end, the weather held out, and we were soon zipping all over the Little River section of the lake. I led the way, but not long after I let him try out driving. Once it looked like he had the hang of things, I jumped back on the jet ski and we cruised across the lake again. It was a great day to be out there, and we loved waving to fellow watercraft and stopping off at the beach for a dip. We had a great time cruising down the river on the boat, and NO peddling is required! The boat fits 16 and we were comfortable with our group of 10. Our guides were awesome, blasted tunes for us and pointed out historical landmarks as we passed them on the river and gave us the history of those points. I looked at booking the larger pontoon saloon also, but ultimately I am VERY glad we went with River Queen instead. The saloon boat was jam packed with 3-4 different groups of 10+ people. We had the peddle boat all to ourselves!

He lied and said they didn't have records on us, then called our other number on file (from before.) So, again, he was well aware we had two bikes. I hate to think of this version of the story, but I wonder if they were trying to rip me off. He said he was ordering tires for the two bikes, and when we arrived, he tried to pass off only one set of tires, that were truly only $350/set check that fact online (max) for $650. He knew I was ordering two sets (I said I had two bikes and he had our records, proof was he called my alternate phone number,) and they're smoking something to think can pass of that kind of markup for only one set of tires. Deal was canceled and I'm not going back. Glad to have gotten out before other issues presented themselves. Smh
