This place is awesome and could not be run by 2 more awesome people. Katie and Will are the business. They really love kids and what they do (and they do a LOT lol). I've felt at home here even before we brought our kid the first time. The hardest thing about this place is getting my kid to leave (and that there are too many fun things in the lobby that he wants to buy). He loves the toys, the swings, and Mr. Will and Ms. Katie. :) Be aware that it's not a true day care - some kids are there for drop in care or special camps between school terms or on vacations, but the majority are there with a parent, nanny, or other adult. That staff always has a 1:4 ratio for any kids that are left there without their own grow up. The amount of time the grownups spend supervising their OWN child runs the gambit. :P read more

I was really excited to take my kids here. They had fun because their kids and there's a ton of toys, but I unfortunately wouldn't take them back. It's pretty small and feels claustrophobic and feels like it just needs to be cleaned and given fresh paint. The staff are really kind, but don't intervene when kids are not abiding by safety rules, like bringing large toys into the trampoline or throwing balls aggressively across the play area. It felt like an area where caregivers are kind of checking out while kids are kind of running wild. Also, the bathroom smells terrible because the diaper genie is broken and they're clearly are soiled diapers in there. That feels like a basic thing that should be fixed immediately in a children's play area. I'm bummed because I was hoping to do a birthday party here, but would t want to bring my kids back even for open play. read more

Threw my daughter's 3rd birthday here, and loved it! Lots of different play activities for the kids: zipline, trampoline, climbing structure, swings, play kitchen, ride on toys. Kids attending ranged from age 1-8. Every kid had a blast in their own way, and was engaged and entertained. There is a separate area for snacks and drinks. I would have given Rock the Spectrum a five if you asked me about two years ago BUT we, my son and I, went about a week ago AND no masks were enforced!?! It's an indoor gym AND it's stuffy. I am guessing due to the kids, they probably can't open the front door for safety reasons. There were adults, two maybe three, walking around and children older than three years-old w/ NO MASKS. Even without a mask, I thought okay, maybe they'll stay 6 feet apart from others? (Shrug of shoulders) NOPE. HOWEVER, if you've been to the Studio City site, you are well informed that NO SOCKS then you cannot enter. BUT YET, no MASKS??? AND you're good to go? We left after about an hour or so, my son has asthma and the last thing I need is my son getting COVID. Is it just ME? Or is this too lax to not enforce masks? I will say, I Emailed the owner promptly. She questioned as to which adults didn't have their masks on. I suggested she should look at the footage (I hope they have security cameras) as I did not want to call out any names. We all know how some parents can get defensive the minute you discuss their parenting and OR their children. But I, alas, had to describe the individuals, again, why the conversation couldn't be held on my Cell Phone? Not sure. She had me speak to her from her employee's! Cell phone. Ah, prior to this phone call, a much older boy around 10 maybe 11 years old, tall, husky, who showed to possibly have a severe Learning Disability walked in with no mask. I asked why he didn't have to wear a mask. The response was guests with Learning Disabilities (LD) do not need to wear masks. I work with students with LD and every school I have attended this year my students wear masks. Depending on his LD, I can understand why maybe the owner thinks that best for guests with LD not to wear masks. BUT, what if the guest with LD has a respiratory underlying condition, now what?!?! Usually from what I have observed a child/ young adult/ adults that have one LD usually have another one that triggers one or the other. THEN, the kid, the much older and bigger one, jumps onto the trampoline with these tiny toddlers. This kid was so big he made the toddlers look like elf's next to him. The kid has a severe LD, this I think was very unsafe to allow both the kid with LD and the little ones without LD, in addition to COVID, all jumping around on the trampoline. I love that it is a location where kids, young adults can get sensory stimulation. BUT I also think that if you're going to allow parents/guardians to do drop-offs and leave a severe LD kiddo, THEN there needs to be a Behavior Interventionist (BI) there! The kid was having BIG meltdowns, screaming, crying, pretty much the whole time he was there. If you're going to have a location to assist students with LD, then the location needs to be tailored to them. The kids with LD should feel calm and safe at Kids Rock the Spectrum NOT having these huge meltdowns. Moreover, it was a drop off! I would have never left my child with a severe LD alone at an indoor play area (gym) without a BI there. During one meltdown he kept asking where his mom was?!?! And crying. I told him I think she went to the store or maybe work, but she will be back, okay. And you're safe here okay, you're okay. This kid was big for his age, very tall and husky, this could of totally turned into a disaster if he had a bigger meltdown and started throwing chairs around etc. Which a lot of students tend to do that are severe. OR started to get aggressive while on the trampoline with the little ones, which would not be his fault of course he cannot control it especially in that environment. AND then NO MASKS?!?! I will NEVER go to this location evah! It is a franchise perhaps the other locations are taking COVID more seriously and are more compassionate with the kids with severe LD and care about everyone's safety. OH and they do not take anyone's temperature, either (what a surprise). At least you would think no masks BUT at least they take temperatures? NOPE. Thankfully my kiddo and I left our masks on. I reminded him he couldn't get close to other kids since they were not wearing masks. I also pondered that perhaps the staff on site, maybe, did not feel too comfortable bearing all the weight of having to remind patrons to wear their mask. Obviously, if the parent/guardian is choosing not to wear a mask knowing we are still in a pandemic, they probably don't give two shits about COVID, and could as well lash at the staff member. I do not want to necessarily blame her, if I had to point fingers it would be at the owner. Someone needs to do something about this, this is not OKAY, especially allowing the kid with severe LD to have these meltdowns and not make the individual who dropped him off aware of. She, the owner, needs to be more briefed of working with patrons with severe LDs. read more

Please don't drop off your kids here. I was there and I saw 3 kids totally unsupervised. The people "in charge" were ignoring them and just in the phone the whole time. I am a pediatrician and father of three neurotypical girls that all love WRTS, and I can see how this is great for children on the spectrum as well. It has a variety of stimulating play environments, good safety measures, and a quiet room in the back in case a child needs a space with low stimulation. I have usually gone on the weekends and there has never been a problem with space or enough things to do while other kids are there. read more

This place just doesn't have a very cool vibe, from the staff to the areas. It's a feeling. Staff was nice enough but not fully present nor happy and excited to engage. The zip line is pretty cool and a giant trampoline can be fun. Parking is quite a challenge. Signs everywhere say not to park there. You're competing with the masses who flood Aroma Cafe, unfortunately. Only available parking (unless you're lucky enough to snag a spot in their little strip mall lot) is West of the building, in the residential area on streets. Make sure to read signs! First timers: They don't have an easy digital sign-in process so be prepared to recite all your info to the front desk on your first visit. Day fee is higher than most playgrounds I've visited in the area and they have less to offer, in my opinion. The room full of toys was quite messy and I didn't see anyone tidying things up while I was there. Nor did I see any cleaning happening, which was uncomfortable for me. I barely worry about germs but this place made me think of them. There just seems to be an overall heavily-used look to everything; doesn't feel fresh and clean. Bathroom was ok. Everything was just ok and items definitely could've used some cleaning and tidying. All of this would be fine if the day fee was lower and/or there weren't nicer indoor playgrounds in the area. read more

We've been here twice now with my 5 yo spectrum son and my 4 yo neurotypical son. They both had a BLAST. FINALLY a place that's super fun yet less sensory overload (quieter, smaller than other play places). The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. And I just don't feel judged. I love it. Thank you Katie, William and Ari for making our 8 year old's birthday so wonderful. Parents, if you want a FUN birthday venue for kids of all ages, THIS is it. No kid was bored. Not one. From the minute kids show up, they are engaged in so many activities! Trampoline, rock climbing wall, zip line, tons of assorted swings just to name a few. Also all the little sisters and brothers were also throughly entertained with activities as well. Kids did not want to leave, it was so fun. We had outside party vendors for our party that were made to feel very welcome and also told us how great the venue was. The large room for pizza and cake was perfect. The staff is so helpful with set up and clean up, we the parents were stress free and could really enjoy the party and our guests. Highly recommended! read more

This place is amazing! A family friendly well run clean and fun gym for my 10 month old twins and 3 year old! The activities are so fun, help with motor skills, there are multiple areas (books/toys/costumes vs more typical gym equipment) and a nice kitchen area to feed the kids. Great hours too! We regularly go to the We Rock The Spectrum in our neighborhood, and mistakenly expected all locations to be to the same standard. The toys were dirty, play equipment on the main floor was not only broken but had small easily digestible pieces of hardware laying around them, dirty coffee cups were on the floor in the play area, and at least three parents were wandering around barefoot. As it was the weekend, numerous children had been dropped off to play solo, however there was only one young lady working. There is no way to supervise a gaggle of big kids while small ones are trying to play without being knocked over AND ensure the place is well run. I love what this company offers to parents of special needs children, however this location does a disservice to what We Rock The Spectrum stands for. read more

The owner limits the number of kids to 5 together playing in the gym and the parents stay in the other room 6 feet distant. It was our first time socializing since March and felt really good. The facility was super clean and there was so much space for 5 little ones. I recommend this gym from 12 months to 10 years old...but I must say my twins who are 12 still enjoy the trampoline. You can organize small parties there in Covid times or can rent the gym per the hour which is very reasonable. read more

The first time I took my 12 month old son here we had a blast. It was a very slow day and there weren't many kids there. I did notice the place needed a deep cleaning but playgrounds are playgrounds and not always the cleanest. At the time it wasn't a deal breaker. I bought a package and took my son back on a weekend. Wow! We waited for a turn in the trampoline my son is so little I didn't want him in there with other kids and a woman shoves a autistic kid in there with us and zips him in and walks away. Before we could leave this kid grabbed my sons head and tried to pull it off his shoulders I had to grab this kid and push him off my child which felt awful in every respect- first my son was violated but then to also have to put my hands on a child was awful. There are no signs about rules in the place and that kind of bums me out because this space says it is safe for everyone but my son was not safe in this situation. My son then wanted to climb on a plastic house with a slide and as we are walking over to it another child hit my son. That was it for me. We left. We have not been back. I'm bummed I live right next door to this place but my son is not safe there. A few days later my son came down with hand foot and mouth disease which was just the icing on the cake. We hadn't been anywhere else so it is the only place it could have come from. We will not be back. We loved the staff we loved the toys we love the location but there aren't enough safeguards or rules to keep the little littles safe unfortunately. read more

Today I brought my 2 y/o and he had a lot of fun! We will definitely be back. There are a couple things that I had hoped would be out of the way, since this place is geared to kids on the spectrum. First, my son is a non verbal runner, and the gate AND front door were open for a short amount of time, and he ran out twice. I was right with him so it wasn't a big deal, but it should have been paid more attention to. The other things that were kind of a bummer was the accessibility to light switches/computer/stereo/drawers/shelves for the staff & register equipment. My kid wants to obsessively get into ALL OF THAT. Now that being said, we are used to watching out for that stuff and constantly redirecting him, but I was hoping it would be a *bit* more child proofed for kids with special needs. First of all, there are plenty of these type of locations all over, so my recommendation  to anyone is to consider other ones that have a similar concept. My experience: the owner is unprofessional  and inconsistent with her word.  No agreement is formal, and in my opinion  that is intentional in order to be able to change price and requirements  last minute. Which inevitably ruins your plans for any gathering/ event. Not worth the worry or the headache. In addition, prior to my incident where she changed the number of people allowed for a private rental -days prior, or an increase in price if I went over one person -- I had purchased a  set of passes to take my two kids. Upon entry, one pass was used for both of my kids, because my younger was just a baby. Two hours into play time, they change their minds because he's mobil and advanced and thus they used another pass. Inconsistent, irresponsible  and unprofessional.  She rectified (reluctantly) the issue when I brought it her attention, BUT next time, same thing. Didn't want to deal with it afterwards again. Again, nothing is formal. I would think a contract or written agreement with any type of rental or event. But no, I had to make her text me (price) so that she wouldn't change requirements again. Not worth the headache or potential worry.  In addition, she gets angry (quickly) if you bring anything up in a professional manner.  Not the way to run a business.  I also (my opinion) don't think there is enough supervision for the children dropped off. Also, (my opinion) many small pieces in the toddler room. You have to be very vigilant or make sure to clear space if you have small children. Overall, a (my) negative experience and dealt with unprofessionalism all around. read more

We had our daughter's 6th birthday last weekend. Fiona (owner) and Sarah were wonderful to work with as usual. My daughter has various special needs and we invited her small special day class. It was a great success. Each child had some challenge to overcome and this facility had enough to accommodate each child. There is enough room for the children to have their own space, if needed, yet small enough for them not to be overwhelmed and to be able to play together. The trampoline is a favorite, of course, and has new netting for safely. Some liked the dramatic play area and the quiet area was great for others to center themselves or just have a quiet break. The separate room was large enough to sing happy birthday and pass out individually wrapped cupcakes (for extra covid protection). It was a big success! So much so that there are plans to have the year end class party there. I look forward to going back with her classmates for playdates! read more

Yikes. Definitely NOT worth $15 per kid. This place has changed so much (see prior review). They took out so many play things that it REALLY isn't worth the price. It's also VERY dirty, and messy. I like the free water station but HATE that the kids were playing with it and they spilled it didn't clean it off the floor. We spent 35 minutes here before my 3 kids were over the 3 things to play on (VERY SHORT/SMALL zip line, swings area, and trampoline)...and it was SO CROWDED too. 35 minutes of steering clear of other kids for $42. NOT GOOD. I feel extremely ripped off. 1 star given for letting us bring in snacks and as mentioned above, the free water. read more

I want to take the time to thank the owners of we rock the spectrum and their staff. The environment and atmosphere is very special that I feel like I'm visiting my family and taking my kids to play with cousins. This place has more to do than my kids can handle. Every time we visit the hardest thing or the one thing I can complain about is that it's hard to get my kids out of there. We rock has a lot of ways for my kids to entertain themselves and build relationships on the way. There's a zip line, swings and trampoline, which helps build turn taking and waiting for my kids. Also builds a their citizenship skills. There's way for me to help my kids build on their social skills. There's so many kids from different ages for them to build bonds with. Also there's a play area with different toys and outfits to help build on my kids pretend play, role playing with other kids. Ex - they have a grocery check out stand, a doctors office, a dinner, a kitchen and many other toys. Yes he staff there are great and very helpful. The staff there are always friendly and have great attitude. They are attentive to all the children under their care and the one there with their parents. They always help me the most I feel , Bc I have twins and they are a handful. I am very thankful how they are with my kids . Overall I love this place and I am constantly recommending place to everyone. The place is clean and especially the bathrooms. The only complaint I have is that they are to gear at what they do, that I have a hard time getting my kids to leave. We come here on a regular basis. Today was incredibly disappointing. 1) The ladder/stairs to the zip line platform was unhinged. Incredibly dangerous for larger kids and adults helping their little ones 2) The trampoline is awful. Tears in netting and tarp covers detached from metal retainers...Basically any child that jumps along the edge can get their leg/foot/ankle cut or broken. 3) Staff - there is typically only one person managing the entire gym which is absurd because they not only need to check families in, but also restock supplies, ensure gate remains closed, ensure no food or drink is brought into the gym area, & more often than not, have a chim they are responsible because parents dropped them off 4) cleanliness - today was gross. Dust & debris. Bathroom had urine & feces on the floor. No circulation of air so smells funky. Last week a child somehow pooped on the felt zip line platform. The employee sprayed the area but there was no way to ensure all feces was removed due to black color of felt. 5) too many kids at once - children slamming into one another, nailing each other with the OT equipment, big kids being too aggressive & reckless around little ones 6) children who are dropped off - they usually get neglected. Last week a little girl colored all over the wall. It took the employee 5 minutes to notice. This week a little boy took off all of his clothing & was running around nude for at least a minute before one of the parents brought it to the owners attention. We have a membership so we'll be going back but def reluctantly. Hope that next time they have addressed these issues. read more
