Mac and cheese, fried chicken and collard greens
    Brandi B.

Looking for soul food while on vacation and found this place on TikTok with good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I have never been able to find soul food that lived up to its name outside of Memphis, and this was no exception. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Perhaps I am just partial to what I know and love. At any rate, the atmosphere was nice and the service was good. It took a while to get the food, but I can appreciate the wait because our food was served hot. I had the fried chicken, mac and cheese and collard greens. The greens were good. The fried chicken was hot and crispy but not seasoned to my liking. The mac and cheese was really cheesy, just the way I like it, however it could have been seasoned more. The lobby area and restroom were both clean.

Went to We Shuckin after seeing a video on it from TikTok. I opted for the fried shrimp with the special Shuckin sauce on the side and a side of collard greens, rice, and macaroni! The shrimp was VERY well seasoned and the sides were very delicious too. Inside the ambiance is very unique. The music is all 80's top hits (excuse me if I have the era wrong as I'm a 90's child lol). And they had a screen that played unique advertisement of little skits for the restaurant with catchy tunes. It was very entertaining. They also have large jenga and connect four to play while you wait for your food or after eating. The lemonade was also very delicious and sweet. The service was okay. The only thing is the front desk person doesn't stay in the front and they kept going to the back so if you need something or to order you would have to wait for them to come back to the front.

So I'm in fort Lauderdale and I really got hungry on a Sunday afternoon after church. Since this was my vacation, I wanted to try some of the best cuisines I can find and to my surprise, there was a funny commercial for a place called We Shucking Southern Eatery! Let me tell you the food was awesome! Chicken was tender and the rice was to die for. It came with some of the best macaroni and cheese I could have asked for they also had this amazing honey sauce that had a hot sauce vibe to it. It definitely added to the meal If you're ever in that area, I would recommend you try we Shuckin Southern Eatery, you will not be disappointed because I wasn't.

I give up, why would anyone give this to someone. Never again. They just need to close down at this point. Look at the pictures prior to now. Big difference.

I've been wanting to try this location for a while and I was finally able too. I picked up food to go and the restaurant was completely empty. Service was pleasant. We started with the conch fritters which were delicious. They had big pieces of conch and it was really enjoyable. We had the fried catfish dinner with rice , Mac and sweet potatoes. The rice was spicy for no reason, the Mac and cheese was bland and the sweet potato was good. The catfish was pretty good. The fried rib dinner we had w rice, Mac and beans. Ribs were good , but again the side weren't good. Overall this place was ok, but I don't see myself coming back. Now my friend says the the peach cobbler is the best so maybe give that a try.

Fried tilapia, Cajun rice, greens n Mac n cheese

The food was horrible!! The fried fish n shrimps was covered in a batter that was extremely salty. The rice was old and very hard. The greens were salt!! I was very disappointed after spending $70 for 2 dinners and an order of shrimps. No, I will not recommend them and I will not be returning. Wasted my money!!

Sigh.... I really wanted to like this place. I went recently and got the shrimp dinner and their fruit punch. The shrimp were flavorful and fried to perfection. The rice was hard, I was unable to eat it. The Mac n cheese tasted like they just threw cheese on noodles and stuffed it in the oven, not good Candied yams were decent. Fruit punch tasted like your average kool-aid drink. Aside from that, the place looks like it's need of a good sweeping/mopping

Returning from a cruise, we were looking for black owned, local food. My Daughter found this place online. We hopped a Uber on over. The outside of the restaurant could be off putting. But we didn't let that deter us from getting to the goodness. It seems they do a lot of carry out business. Which is good. We decided to dine in. We wanted the entire experience. I got fried fish, collard greens and yams. It seems all meals come with some kinda of rice. My daughter got the fried ribs, Mac and cheese, and collard greens. The food is I wasn't ready for the delish-ness. Everything is cooked to order. Our food came out piping hot. I will say there was only one young lady working the counter. She was pleasant. But I thought she needed help. This is a southern gem worth checking out. I am glad this place is here and not in KY. I would eat it weekly. The music is good too!! They play old school r&b. Loved it

Chicken Tender Dinner w/ Mamas Mac & cheese + Geechee Grits . Jive sauce on the side

Accidentally found myself in the parking lot of this location and figured I check it out. It was pretty quiet when I walked in and the cashier was very friendly! The place looked like an Arby's layout to me and the cashier had mentioned it used to be a Burger King. I'll admit it wasn't too inviting inside however the food was well worth it.I couldn't decide between the lemonade or the southern sweet tea, so I asked what the cashier had preferred. They recommended getting the Jukin Juice instead.. and I loved it ! It was very fruity and not too sweet! I ordered the Chicken Tenders Dinner that comes with two sides of your choice. I got the Geechee grits and Mamas mac & cheese ( they have plenty of side options). I didn't realize it comes with rice until afterwards . The chicken tenders were perfectly cooked ( JUICY ) and seasoned! The Jive sauce was sweet like honey and berries to me. It's a must for your tenders ! The Mac and cheese is bomb!! I really appreciated the amount of cheese they put. The Geechee grits is very creamy and savory. I really loved the grits with the rice combined personally. The rice was full of so much flavor ! Everything went hand in hand together. I really enjoyed my meal. Thank you so much!

This place is soooooo good!!!!!! It's my new favorite spot. I like the inside of the store. I also like that you have to show your license to get your food. Thank you for being the 1st place to try soul food.

We visited again yesterday evening to grab takeout. I have to say that this time wasn't as good as the last time. I ordered cornbread and they called me when I was on the way to pick up and they said I would get a refund. I also took the opportunity to ask them about an email that I received for my birthday offering to give me a free dessert. Unfortunately, the coupon code did not work when I was putting in my order. When I asked the girl about it, she said that I could have them take the coupon off at the store, but at the time they had no desserts. When I went through the drive-through to pick up my order, they forgot my chicken tender dinner, and I had to ask the girl about it because the bag look a bit empty for what I ordered. She took it back and was able to remedy the situation. Lastly, they give you all these points when you order, but I have yet to figure out how to use them. You can see what you can get with the points, but there is no way to apply them when you are putting in an order online.

I had to go back and get some more . The food is always delicious. Customer service is A1 . Place is always clean and nice .

There's nothing I can say about We Shuckin! I've from Indiana and there is no way I could come to south Florida and not get some of this deliciousness. I've never been disappointed. I had to order through Uber eats so I missed my sweet tea. My food was delicious and still hot. Don't let the bad reviews that are posted stop you from trying them out! I can't wait to come back in September!

As the place was empty and two women working were talking at the bar I walked in and went to sit. One of the women asked if I was with the group and then told me I needed to wait to be seated. It was awkward. It was a bit rude. Most times it's not what you say, but how you say it. Maybe it's just me, but the waitress immediately informed me that three items weren't available, including biscuits and cornbread of some sort. As a first-timer, it was weird. Fortunately, everything got better from there. My first meal, regardless of time, needs to be breakfast-y. As I perused the weekday brunch menu via QR code (what if you don't have a phone?) I ordered a coffee and water. The water came quickly, but the coffee took its time. I ordered the Wafflette (don't you want to try things you can't get other places?) It came as pictured and was good. The syrup was quite watery and left a lot to be desired, but I really didn't need it. The star of this dish is the bacon. I could have bathed in this bacon. It was thick and chewy, such a nice compliment. I don't know if there are bar stools available and whether they set up center aisle seating when it's more crowded, but the restaurant appeared clean and well-kept. There were no rounds available when I went, so I don't know how they accommodate groups of 10+, I sat along the banquette that could accommodate two. I am very interested in returning to try the ox tails, which are available in two (or was it three) dishes on the menu. I look forward to revising my review then.

The Spread: We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, spare ribs, and baby back ribs -- yes, all four -- on one tray lined with butcher paper. It looked like a BBQ fever dream and tasted even better than it looked. The Meats: The brisket was the standout for me. Smoked over real wood for 12+ hours, hand-carved, pink smoke ring, tender all the way through. The baby back ribs were glazed and meaty with deep smoky flavor, and the spare ribs were thick, juicy, and packed with bold bark. The smoked chicken rounded it all out -- moist, flavorful, never dry. The Sides: Rice and peas with coconut milk -- fragrant and perfectly cooked. The 4-cheese mac was outrageously creamy (I kept going back for more). The sweet and tangy coleslaw was the perfect palate cleanser between bites of rich, smoky meat. The Extras: The 4-pack of sliders was a great add -- soft buns, well-seasoned patties, could easily make a meal on their own. The fries were golden and crispy. And the watermelon lemonade Kool-Aid with berries at the bottom? Refreshing, unique, and the perfect closer to an incredible meal. The Space: Big news for fans of Bare Bones -- they've just opened a brand new storefront next door with about a dozen additional tables and plenty of seating for the whole family. No more eating in your car or rushing home with takeout. You can now sit back, relax, and enjoy that tray of smoked goodness the way it was meant to be experienced. It's a welcome upgrade that somehow makes the food taste even better. This is a family-run operation with over 20 years of food experience and it shows in every detail. Bare Bones isn't just good BBQ -- it's a South Florida treasure.

Picadilly was bought by T.H. "Tandy" Hamilton in 1944. In 1988 they purchased another cafeteria chain, Morrison's Cafeterias which was founded by J. A. Morrison in 1920. At their height, there was 270 restaurants but poor management led to bankruptcy in 2003 and again in 2012 and they were sold off to Yucaipa Companies and Diversified Investment Management Group. By 2012 they were down to only 41 locations. South Florida had two Piccadilly Cafeterias, one in Hialeah at the Westland Mall and on the Palm Springs Mile. Both are now closed butthere is a Facebook page dedicated their memory. Today there are only two locations left in Florida, Jacksonville and this one in Hollywood! I couldn't believe there was still one left here and I made it a point to stop by for lunch.' As soon as I walked in I was flooded with nostalgia. Even the decor looks the same as I remembered. You grab a try and slide it down the line telling them what you want added to your plate. Meals include a protein, two sides, and a bread. You can add more sides for an additional price. They also have a selection of desserts of cakes, pies, and cobblers. Expect to find homestyle dishes like chicken, teriyaki chicken, fish, and fried shrimp. Vegetarians can order the four vegetable plate. I had the roast beef drenched in au jus, carrot souffle, and broccoli rice au gratin. It was all as good as I remembered, especially the decadent carrot souffle which is a dessert in itself. I just found a copycat recipe for the Picadilly carrot souffle and it is getting added to the Easter dinner menu.
