Schultz and McGinnis Painters were the subcontractors for our kitchen remodel. They painted new…read moredrywall and primed and painted the trim and cabinetry. From the start, they were well organized and communicative, arranging for us to have a color consultation with their paint supplier, so that we would have our design decisions made when the other steps in the project were complete, and the room was ready for them. I'd say that 'meticulous' was the most appropriate word for every part of our experience with Jordan and Matt. Their web site has an entire section entitled 'Prep Work', and they truly followed through on that part of the job, making sure every surface got the proper treatment it needed (no matter how grueling) in order to ensure that the finish coats looked their best. For our cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and full sized paneled door, they took them all off site (each piece carefully wrapped), and spray painted them in the controlled conditions of their shop. For the trim and all the cabinets, Schultz and McGinnis used a Water Based Acrylic Alkyd paint, which is something I had never heard of. My understanding is that this paint has the durability and the smooth finish of an oil based paint, but is a much lower VOC product. What I can say for sure is that it looks amazing, and has stood up to the miscellaneous remaining work that took place on our project without any visible damage. Having lived with it for a couple of weeks now, I'm still thrilled with the look of their work. Schultz and McGinnis got along beautifully with our primary contractor, and their communication and coordination paid off in the results of our project. The best thing I could say about any service provider is that I would work with them again without hesitation, and that is most certainly the case with Schultz and McGinnis Painting Note: their web site indicates a second phone number, but the Add A Business form does not allow more than one. I couldn't be happier with the work he did. The gate is now stronger (by far) than it was, even when it was new. He started the job almost immediately even though I was in no particular rush. He was true to his word and presented his bill which was stunningly inexpensive especially considering how much everyone else was charging..... Beyond that, David is a skilled and creative carpenter. Everyone else wanted to install a cheesy gate that was pretty much identical to the original cheesy gate that came with the house when I bought it. David's repair job will likely survive hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes. Well, ok...maybe not tornadoes but as I said, I couldn't be happier with the work and the price. I will definitely be calling on him for future work needs.

Cascade Painting just finished painting our 2 story house and my husband and I are blown away with…read morehow great a job they did. Our house outer walls are T1-11, a type of grooved plywood. The builder had barely painted and sealed the surface leaving it open to the PNW weather. I was afraid we'd have to put new siding on at great expense because it looked so bad. Sam Mitowski and his crew did a fabulous job prepping the surface and put a second coat of primer on to make sure there was good adherence for the the paint. My neighbors are all impressed and I'm handing Sam's card to anyone who asks. We have more interior work to do and then I'm having the crew back to paint the house's interior. I'd like to note that we've refreshed and sold three homes we've lived in. Sam impressed by his preference to use Benjamin Moore paint. I've seen cheaper paints fade and/or shift color in less than 5 years. There's a reason interior designers/professionals prefer this brand- it's durable and easy to clean. (I do not now nor I have never worked for BM paint. I'm not related to anyone who works or owns stock there. I simply find it the best paint for the purpose. Their primers not only make surfaces take paint better, they save money on more $ paint.)

The best thing about them was the foreman who did most of the work which was done with attention to detail. He was reliable and experienced. They came referred to me so I want to believe it was unusual but I think the owner needs to retire or sell the business as it appears to be too much for him.

I did not give Micheal the paint colors, or a deposit, so nothing was set in stone.. But I guess he thought it was? I informed him that we were no longer using him and he sent me a nasty text, that we are rude and *pissed him off* also he blocked my number.. no need to throw a temper tantrum, I made it clear we had multiple estimates we were looking at. He might be an absolutely amazing painter... but he needs to work on his kindness and revisit how he treats his costumers. In the end, I'm relieved I chose the other company who has been nothing but kind and responsive.
