IS ZERO OUT OF 5 an option? Unfortunately, they are the reason why roofing companies have a bad reputation. I will never hire this company again. They did not replace the window flashing when they replaced my roof, and instead left the old flashing in place. When I contacted them about a leak, they claimed it was out of warranty. Their own crew came to look at leak and admitted that the flashing was from the old roof, not something they had installed. Despite paying for a full roof replacement(including ALL roof flashing), they cut corners by not replacing the window flashing. When I asked them to fix it, they refused, claiming it was not covered. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told he is on vacation for next 2 weeks. Save yourself money and frustration by AVOIDING this company. Now I have a leak, and no solution. I had my roof replaced in November 2017. Earlier this year, I noticed a lot of rot happening on the facia board on the back gutters. I hired a contractor to replace the rotted wood. My contractor tells me the problem is the first row of singles was not installed correctly. I called Weatherguard, who sent their contractor out. The Weatherguard contractor tells me that he agrees there is a problem with the way the roof was installed, and he points to a couple of other areas where the same problem occurs. He tells me he needs to coordinate with headquarters as the job will take more than a couple of hours to fix. I don't hear anything from Weatherguard for a week, so I called their quality control. He calls me back and tells me his contractor told him there was nothing wrong with the way the roof was installed. And since my house is no longer under warranty (the 5 years had experied) they would not cover anything. So either the contractor lied to me, he lied to the headquarter people, or the headquarter people lied to me. The result is I have a portion of the roof installed incorrectly (based on what my contractor and the Weatherguard contractor told). read more

My family was happy with the results and Nick was very professional and there through the whole process. He came out and met with our insurance and was available to answer all our questions. Did bad job on the roof. The new roof they put not extended to gutter with bare roof studs. rain goes to between butter and roof stud. Customer service guys is better and came back to fix the problem. Without customer service coming back to fix the multiple problems, it would be 1 start. read more

We needed to replace our roof due to hail damage and contracted with Weatherguard. Because of inclement weather, we had some delays on the installation and my husband and I were trying to sell our house. When the weather cleared, we were given a date after the proposed house inspection. I called the Weatherguard office and explained the situation. They were able to get the roof and gutter work done in time for the final inspection and did a wonderful job. I appreciate their willingness to be accommodating and I would recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

Weatherguard RALEIGH/DURHAM is a HORRIBLE company to work with! They lure you in with being sympathetic and show you how "they" can take care of everything and make the roof replacement a seamless and painless process - WRONG! The crews got to work right away but they also created damage to my home in the process! 1) Shingles were not laid properly and had to be ripped off and redone on half the project. If I didn't come home to check on the progress during a work-day, they would have left it that way. No Project Manager on site checking the crew's work. You literally had to call the Project Manager, wait for him to show up and then address issues. 2) As the crews were throwing shingles off the roof, some of the shingles sliced through the breezeway screen (that was literally put up the month before) and, again, no one checking on the project! Another call to the Project Manager about the damage (pictures taken). THEN ....when they were "fixing the damage to the screen," they broke the two of the screen frames in the process! I just wanted to scream! 3) More damage!!!! Go to park my car in the garage and notice debris all over the garage floor so I look up and what do I see???? A hole in the roof of the garage with clear site of the fresh underlayment to which the new shingles were clearly installed over it! Did anyone come to me to tell me they punched a hole in my roof but covered it? Of course not - more pictures taken and another call to Weatherguard's Project Manager! They claimed that they hole was already there, despite the debris on my garage floor, and that the hole was a non-issue since it had new underlayment and fresh shingles! Are you joking????? I refused to pay the entire amount of the project and only paid 85% - discussing everything with the corporate office, forwarded pictures and documentation of every single instance of Weatherguard negligence over and over and over again! My house was damaged MORE AFTER Weatherguard was there then before - and NOW THEY ARE SUING me for the difference instead of just doing the the right thing and making things right! Buyer beware ....they don't care about your most expensive asset - they just want your money! read more

"WARNING" DO NOT SIGN OR GIVE WEATHERGUARD ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE A 2ND OPINION! Being a successful Business Owner; HONESTY & COMMUNICATION is foremost! Mind you this was an Insurance Claim; so I guess they thought they could really take us to the cleaners. They wanted 50% down to start and the balance upon conclusion. They never sat down to go over the Insurance estimate with us verses their estimate. The estimate they gave us stated that it was not a binding contract until approved, accepted or signed by an Officer of Weatherguard and the estimate was NOT signed by an Officer; nor were we contacted or received a signed contract, via mail or otherwise. THUS, WE NEVER HAD A BINDING CONTRACT only their estimate. A period of 6 months with no communication from Weatherguard and we contacted them. (We decided to get another estimate after the phone call we had with them). They estimated a GAF shingle complete at $20,116.67. This did not include 4 Skylights installed! they told us to get it done ourselves. We decided to look at a CertainTeed Roof and let them estimate it also trying to be fair; they came up with an increase in their estimate of $5,760.36; now we're up to $25,877.03 (The skylights alone were $675.25 non-opening, (installed) an additional $239.00 to open, this was in the 25K) Because of the long period of not hearing from Weatherguard, we decided to go ahead with the second estimate; I'll call the second company MRM. They estimated the CertainTeed Roofing, with 2 Skylights non-opening and 2 Skylights that opened; plus they deducted $450.00 for the flashing around the skylights extra cost of $1900 and reroofed our shed to match the house roof using up the material left at no extra cost to us. Total with MRM $20,116.67, no extra charges and cleaned up after themselves. After the aggravation with Weatherguard over pricing they have the nerve to harass us with a bill for a cancelation fee of $5,029.00 and an increase of 3.5% if paid by credit card. Weather Guard did a great job for me in advocating for me with my insurance Company and subsequent adjustors. Once the claim was finally accepted the scheduling team called and gave me a date. Carly and Zack Kept in contact and when a opening allowed the date to move Carly called and we set a new date nearly a month sooner. Chris Case did a great job from storm evaluation, documentation, advocation and insurance follow up. Most of my neighbors had to have their roofs replace all of them had at least one issue. Issues ranged from showing up when promised to right materials and workmanship. I had no issues. Carly called to insure the date was still good. The Correct material showed up 2 days before. The crew showed up when expected and in 2 days I had a nice looking new roof. The crew was respectful and worked very efficiently. The clean up was very thorough during and especially after the job. The invoicing process was accurate and timely. I've talked to a bunch of folks who had a roofs replaced in Wilmington and Weather guard Raleigh gave me the best experience. It was so easy! Brandon came to our house because our neighborhood had had some hail storms in the past few years. He took a look at the roof and said that there was hail damage, and that I could probably file with my insurance company. He worked with our insurance to set everything up and even applied for a supplement for the gutter guards and spouts that had been damaged. I chose the shingle color and that was it. Bam bam, 1.5 days of work and we had a new roof. The ladies running the office are also really nice as once they found out I was pregnant really tried to schedule the work to be ASAP so that they wouldn't be doing the work when I had a newborn.
