Great ice cream and unique flavors! I recommend the pistachio olive oil cake and brown butter yellow cake. Non dairy options are also available, along with pints of ice cream for $13. The service was very patient with us as we tried multiple flavors. It was a very cute place to sit for a midday treat, highly recommend!

My favorite ice cream place in the city! It seems like every few blocks in the area you'll find a place that sells ice cream, but since the first time I've walked into Weckerly's, I've only been coming back here for this delectable treat. They have a such an eclectic assortment of flavors, from the familiar-adjacent to the ones that you might think twice about how it would work in ice cream form--and yes they do samples. I believe they have seasonal flavors as well. I really enjoyed the fig basque cheesecake recently, and a coffee and donuts one. For someone who hates cloyingly sweet desserts, I think their flavors have been at a perfect level of sweetness for me. Definitely recommend checking this place out next time you have that craving!

Stepping off 16th and Locust, it's the holiday's. Nearby Monk's spills hopeful diners onto the sidewalk while Weckerly's is an oasis. Trumpet jazz playing, next sprinkling in Christmas tunes. The selection at the counter is like a holiday. Cinnamon and cranberry, rhubarb, lemon, sour cream and something....all as delicious as they are unique. Families repack strollers, buoyed by kids re-powered from ice cream, we grabbed window seats and watched revelers and shoppers pass by.

Service was great and place was very clean. However, I wasn't a big fan of the ice cream. It was waaaayyy too sweet. I tried 4 flavors and didn't like any one of them. My daughter tried a few and ended up getting the vegan matcha strawberry. It was definitely more strawberry than matcha and loaded with a ton of sugar. She did not even eat half.

Congrats to Weckerly's on this exciting location addition! A few blocks from me, beautifully decorated, bright, a handful of outdoor benches to enjoy your treats, and a spot that will hopefully stick around for years to come. The Rittenhouse ice cream scene is alive with options at this moment. Where I think Weckerly's stands out (I eat a lot of ice cream both professionally and personally) is with their care in flavor. They don't go big or outrageous for no reason, sticking to simplistic flavor combos and executing perfectly. I went with a cone of the buttercake and was blown away. As someone who loves mix-ins and a broad textural experience in my ice cream eating, this is a 10/10. Also head to Weckerly's for fabulous vegan options from sorbets to coconut creams and more. They also cater to your gluten free friends and overall do a great job denoting what's in what. The sandwiches are also not to be missed. My new go-to might be a cone for today and a sandwich for tomorrow to go. As I said, I EAT A LOT OF ICE CREAM. Thank you to Weckerly's for opening this fabulous shop.

Everyone I know has been raving about Weckerly's ice cream sandwiches so I had to pop in to try. The ice cream flavor menu is extensive. So much so, that I'll need to come back to this location and try more. This time I went with the Cherry Blossom ice cream sandwich. Two thick slabs of unique flavors sealed together by a cookie (don't tell my dentist). The inside counter top or outside benches will be perfect sit, chat, people watch, and enjoy a delectable treat. Staff were also super friendly and knowledgeable. These people really enjoy ice cream.

I'm glad that on my second visit, there's no line. I was disappointed that the Dubai chocolate is no longer available. Update from my first review: the ice cream sandwich is available behind the register. You need to order it from the staff. I got the strawberry matcha and it didn't disappoint. The fresh strawberries are very refreshing. I also tried the Irish cream and I love it.

    1. I am not an ice cream lover. 2. I am lactose intolerant, so much so that it can take me down if I have too much. Yeah, it's that bad. 3. French is one of my top 2 favorite cuisines. So when I noticed that this wasn't just any ice cream shop but French-Style ice cream I had to see what it was all about. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your body for something yummy. Lol. So what makes it French-Style? Weckerly uses a custard base, which includes egg yolks, resulting in a richer, smoother, and creamier texture. Right off the bat 5 Stars for having some of the most unique flavors. What intrigued me was that some of them were a mix of sweet and savory. If you can't decide just ask for a tiny spoon sample taste. Here is an example of their seasonal menu on this hot August day... - Buttermilk Pepper Jelly - Lavender Goat Cheese - Coconut Mango Cashew - Corn Toffee Chewy Cookie If these flavors don't excite you then I don't know what does. But what caught my eye were their homemade ice cream sandwiches. I let my son choose and he picked their seasonal Blueberry Dream. The top and bottom layers is made with chocolate cookies. Then one thick slab of cookies & cream and blueberry ice cream. The middle has a blueberry jam stripe. As I kept taking bites the thought of possibly having a tummy-ache escapes my mind. You can tastes that it's homemade. Best ice cream sandwich ever!! Omg, so so good. I did share it with my son so I was okay. I look forward to coming back when I am in the area. There are 2 locations: Rittenhouse & Fishtown (Original location)

This place was SO GOOD!!! Such a cute little shop, and I can totally understand why. I absolutely love trying all of the different flavors there and I was just impressed with how unique and perfect each one was. The staff was super friendly and I ended up asking them what flavor they recommended and to surprise me with that. I was definitely not disappointed at all, because I felt like they cannot go wrong with any choice. Also, the scoops were a pretty generous size which was great.

    Butter Pecan Ice Cream Scoop

They have a wide variety of options and are great at accommodating different allergies, which I really appreciated. The ice cream itself was super creamy and really good , the butter pecan flavor in particular was amazing. It is a little on the expensive side, but that's pretty expected for Center City. Overall, I'd go back!

Newer and bigger location! Went as part of Yelp event, but I can say that I'm very impressed by their flavor offerings. I've been to their Fishtown location and wasn't a huge fan of their ice cream sandwiches that they're know for so I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings here! We were allowed to try some flavors before deciding too, which was nice. Would come back to try more

I don't think I've ever visited an an hour where I've seen it not. Often a line going from the counter, down the stairs, all the way to the bathroom. If you're looking for a quick coffee stop, don't expect to be in and out of here. That being said, they've got some kinds of seating not typical of coffee shops, including this nice long U-shaped couch seating. You'll be around with other folks reading or enjoying their joe, but it's a nice change of pace. Working-wise, wi-fi is solid. Outlets are sparse. Hard to stay a long time here. Music is at least at a tolerable level to tune out and is not usually too bumping. Staff here are quick, but won't be the friendliest. They won't be rude either. They're just trying to get through the line so don't take it personally Overall: would much prefer other places like Capital One Cafe for the reasons I visit cafes, but I can see this being a nice place for other more leisurely-natured visits!

We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience.
