I recieved an email from WF4L after subscribing to a David's Bridal Mailing list. I wasn't very experienced in flower shopping and selected them because they seemed to have a good selection of flowers and reasonable prices. My consultant was Stella, who was cordial, but appeared disinterested for the most part. She didn't smile very much and this made me feel a little uneasy at first. But I paid the $500 deposit and selected a package that she assured would be able to meet my needs based on pictures I had showed. I went in a few times before the wedding to adjust my flower selection as my theme for the wedding and remainder of decor was coming together. She seemed disinterested once again and tried to upcharge me. She told me I would need to pay extra for peonies as they were not included in my package. I was disappointed as we were already paying $3000. We settled on dahlias in the same color instead. I again left there uneasy and returned in a few weeks to speak with her again. This time, I spoke with Robert Jr. and Robert Sr. who told me that if they couldn't find the dahlias in my exact color, he would give me peonies. This made me feel a bit better.
I had scheduled my centerpiece sample viewing with Stella the day we signed my contract. At that time, she told me that the store doesn't open on Sundays and I would have to come in on a Friday to see them. I agreed and since I had already had some uneasiness about this vendor, I called the day before to confirm my appt. I again spoke with Stella who told me that I actually wasn't on the schedule for the next day - big surprise there. She told me she'd squeeze me in as soon as she came in. I showed up and we adjusted a couple things in my centerpieces and bridal party bouquets. We also went over my entire package. When I told her that Robert Sr. said we could substitute peonies if they couldn't find dahlias in my exact color, she seemed very surprised, but said ok. After this meeting, I felt a little better about this as she agreed that she'd be able to substitute peonies if the dahlias weren't available in my color. The week of the wedding, Stella called to let me know they couldn't get the dahlias and told me she'd put in Chinese Mums in my exact color instead. I asked about the peonies promised to me my Robert Sr. and she said she was going to put in a few in my bridal bouquet, but the rest would be Chinese Mums. I was too stressed and had too much going on to discuss it further and said ok.
On the day of the wedding, this was the only vendor I felt uneasy about. My wedding was scheduled for 5:30 pm. I called two weeks prior to make the final payment and confirm the delivery time. She told me they would "probably" be able to deliver flowers by 2:30-3:30pm. That should've been my red flag right there - no one should ever say "probably" to a bride weeks before her wedding! My "first look" was at 4pm and the flowers still had not arrived. We took our bridal party pictures without any flowers. :( I was upset, but tried to stay positive.
When the flowers finally did arrive, they were beautiful. Everything came together and I really couldn't have been more happier with the actual flowers. I honestly just wished that this company were more reliable. I had a gut instinct about this vendor initially and I really wished I had listened to it. I would've given them 0-1 stars had their flowers not been wonderful. I wish working with them had been more positive and pleasant. Overall, I felt nickled and dimed by them and uneasy. I don't like that feeling when I'm spending $3000!!
In the end, was I happy with my flowers? Yes. Would I ever recommend them again? No, solely because of how stressful working with them was. Wedding planning is stressful enough as it is. You don't need an unreliable vendor. read more
