I wanted to take some time before writing an honest review of Wee Little Paws in Deer Park, and now that its been a year, I'm thrilled to share my experience. Our dog, Remi, has enjoyed their daycare, boarding, grooming, and most recently, a training class. The team has been absolutely fantastic to work with, and it's clear that each member genuinely loves what they do. In a time when customer service often feels lacking, especially post-COVID, their dedication is truly refreshing. Their prices are very reasonable, and I always feel confident knowing that Remi is in excellent hands. On a side note, my husband and I visited unexpectedly on the first day, and they kindly gave us a tour right away, which really eased our minds about their care for the pups. Thank GOODNESS for WLPI! I was starting to think we would never find a place that would be a good fit for our 8lb small mini dachshund puppy who has separation anxiety. I drive 20-25 min each way to go here--it is that special. Impressive: Immediately, you are offered a tour of the entire place--not just the kennels and play areas but also the back rooms. Nothing to hide. You see the grooming rooms, the laundry, the feeding prep room... Security is serious. Unlike a different place where I walked in off the street to find my dog unattended behind the front counter in the lobby, here, the front door is always locked and you are let in. No one can walk in. I like that security for the dogs--think of how many small dogs are stolen from pet stores and dog walkers. These pups are expensive and easy targets. The dogs go outside every day, unless the weather is really bad. It is quieter than all the other daycares I visited. The dogs bark, but it has never been extreme. The dogs get naptime (and optional lunch if yours eats lunch) in the middle of the day. There are many levels of care, not just one or two. My girl is a lovey dovey clinger and doesn't want to be with the high energy dogs. She will run and play for a small while, sure, but I don't bring her to daycare to "get her energy out." She normally rests a lot during the day at home, and I want the same at daycare. WLPI accommodates this. No reservations required for daycare--they are helpful but you can walk in that day if you are already registered/a customer. Sometimes life happens. I try to reserve when I know she is coming but I have had a time or two where I couldn't. White picket fenced corrals for boarding, not chain link fences or metal kennels. It is very homey. Our dog has gone many times, once a week and really seems to do well. The staff if very, very nice. We haven't used the grooming yet because I don't want to introduce anything possibly negative to her. We will get her there. For now she gets her nails trimmed locally because she hates it so much. I want WLPI to be all positives for her. The only thing I really wish for, is cameras like other facilities. I would leave her longer and more often if these were present. Cameras probably at least double the days that I go. Seeing her would let me know what she is up to and what kind of day she is having. If she is quiet, I would get her some exercise, vs if she is active, I would have her chill. Cameras would be especially reassuring for boarding. Password protected cameras help ensure that only clients can view the footage, especially if you update the password often. read more

This is a great place for my dog. She is very high energy as she's 14 months old. They have separate groups and they also provide grooming and boarding services. The staff is easy to talk to and very aware of you dog's needs and habits. They take smaller dogs so I think it's the perfect daycare. read more

The headline for this review is that they lost my dog for 7 hours and didn't even notice. I took her to WLPI for daycare because I thought she'd be safer there than at home during some remodeling work. Boy, was I wrong! She escaped from their fenced in area sometime around 9:00 am, and they only realized she was missing when I came to pick her up around 4:00. Someone had mentioned a "stray dog" outside early in the day, but no one checked to see if it was one of their dogs and somehow no count was done at all during the day to notice she was missing. Only at 4:00 when I arrived did it become an "all hands on deck" to find her. Luckily she ran away from Rand Road and we found her, scared but safe and sound & covered in burrs, in a junkyard behind the building. I did get a refund, they cleaned her up and I was offered an apology and a free bath. I won't be trusting them with my dog ever again. read more

I have taken my dog here twice in the last 2 months. I was hesitant due to my dog being older (16) and not used to being boarded. We tried at another facillity before and was less than pleased. However, I could not be happier in taking my dog here. We took an unscheduled tour and it was very clean, the employees were attentive and the dogs all were having a good time in their respective color play yards. They sent photos every day and he was actually interacting with other dogs in the blue/gently play area. I feel you can tell about a facility by the dogs actions. They were all running around or sitting quietly observing. He actually enjoys going. I like the picket fencing as opposed to crates, and he had the best nail trim I have ever gotten for him. I have worked with Patrick both times and he is great to work with. He answered all our questions on our tour and showed us everything. I highly recommend this boarding/day care facility if you have a smaller dog. read more

This is definitely my most recommended place to bring your small dogs. If you're like me and don't want your dogs home all day just laying around, Wee Little Paws is ideal. The dogs are placed into small groups of maybe 10 dogs of similar temperament and they play all day. Unlike other play places I've used, the dogs can literally play from 7:00am to 7pm, with a one hour nap at 12:00. During the day, the dogs are let out to potty every hour. Every dog is loved on and given lots of attention. Even less active dogs like my Abby loves coming here. The people who work here are all so great with the dogs. But, this is definitely a place for small dogs, no large dogs accepted. There is also full grooming services and boarding services as well. I bring my dog Chase here every week and he is always full of smiles when he walks in and when he leaves. The workers are all so kind and good with my dog, you can tell he just adores them. They are super understanding on mornings when Chase has not eaten his breakfast and they give it to him during the lunch break. They are super efficient at getting the dogs in safely and getting you on your way. Can't recommend this place enough!!!! read more

Extremely disappointed in this business. Dogs are a part of your family and when they are treated terribly by someone who is in the business of caring for animals it just feels horrible. When I dropped off all that I asked was not to shave my dog and call me before you do anything. I watched the lady write down and underline "Do not shave" and keep fluffy on the directions for the groomer. She showed me some example of blades to use for shaving and I said I wanted half his length off (about 3 inches), so not using a razor to shave him! My husband received a call from Shinli (the groomer) and she said that he Is too matted and they will need an extra $50 to brush him out or they will shave him. He said to not do anything until I called to find out what was going on. I called Shinli one minute later and could hear my dog screaming in the background and she yelled at him while I was on the phone. Clearly that is not how you'd want someone treating your dog. I very politely said to please stop and I'll come pick him up now. I arrived less than 15 minutes later. I could hear him screaming in the back as I paid and I just wanted to comfort my dog that was having a stressful experience. Why was I waiting over 5 minutes for my dog when I told you to stop grooming him 20 minutes before? When he came out he was shaved! She was shaving him while I was on my way. I know that because he had loose hair all over him and we had a choice of brushing or shaving 15 minutes before I arrived. My 10 year old bursted out in tears, which they thought was funny. I did get angry at that point because it seems like the shaving was done out of spite, especially because my husband and I told them not to shave him. I would stay far away from this place if you love your dog. No one wants their pet treated the way my dog was treated here. If this were my business I would not want an employee like Shinli representing my company. It really is too bad because before Shinli we had several positive experiences at Little Paws. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. My fur baby loves the staff and they love him! It's clean and my boy comes home clean (but exhausted)! They also offer grooming at very reasonable prices. They are also open weekends, so when I have my own plans, I don't have to worry about my guy. Highly recommend!! read more

If your dog can jump at all dont go here. You will be kicked out. I have mini breed of a dog (15lbs) and was told I cant come here because my dog can jump too high. I think this place is packed and basically they are just finding any excuse to turn people away. This place is weird. Would find somewhere else. read more

I have had my very fearful, Doxiepoo groomed here. They are lovely. Everyone seems to like their job and love on the dogs. They said my dog only wanted to be held. Totally true of him, and they snuggled him. I've never felt more comfortable boarding my small dogs anywhere. I am thankful for this place!! read more

I'd rather not give any star or rating to this place. A rating of zero is much more fittting for a place like this. I used this business once for daycare and when I picked up my pup no one cared to tell me how my dogs day went. When I came home I noticed black and blue bruising on both her legs. When I called to ask what happened, somehow no one knew or saw anything. Shocking when this place is all about getting in as much dogs as they can and supposedly a lot of employees to tend to the dogs. Yet no one saw a thing. Asked for the manager or owner to call and at least explain - no call, no sense of urgency, interest or taking initiative to touch base. There is an overwhelming number of dogs they take in daily and with little help, your pup will not get the best and outmost care at this place. read more

I was told to pick up.my dog at 1pm. Not realizing the time thier "Lunch hour" i was approached by a young lady who in a bitter rush tome said " we don't open until 1pm" which explains why they never answered the bell after 10 minutes of ringing and dogs barking since I rang the bell. I said while thank you but I did not know that she suggested I read the sign on the door and pointed to the sign. Very disappointed in their Customer service and way of simply saying that a diffrent way. As if we don't have options to go elsewhere instead of supporting small business. read more

Wee Little Paws Inn is my pet retreat, groomer, and doggie daycare. Only small dogs are allowed, which is comforting to a momma of two miniature poodles. Lori and Alison have been grooming my pups for years, and they are adorable. Lori has been very helpful with one of my dogs, who struggles with allergies and frequent ear infections and impacted anal glands. Lori always lets me know if it appears something is starting to flare again, and she had thoughtful suggestions on what to talk to my vet about. My dogs love to run and play all day, and then they pass out the second they get home. read more

For the record, I used to be a very happy dog mom here. I recommended this place to all little dog owners in the area. My dog has been coming for a grooming and on several occasions, the boarding as well for the last 3/4 years since we moved to Palatine. I'm not sure if management changed or what but my 4 most recent visits have been less than stellar. It's been getting worse, service-wise. This past weekend was probably the last straw. I called at 2:22PM on Friday to see if they had any last minute boarding and a bath on Sunday for pickup around 3-4PM. - I was told "yes" by whoever answered the phone. This time would have been a good idea to mention daycare rates due to the time I was saying I would pick him up, right? I came in on Saturday morning to drop him off and I was told that I was never put into the system and that they were full. Fortunately, they made accommodations since I was already there. I was asked if I had called or e-mailed, so I showed the girl at the desk the time from my call log. Fast forward to yesterday. I called to let them know that we were running a bit late (about an hour) and the gal on the phone said "as long as you are here before 6:45, you're fine". I said "that's great because otherwise, my brother can go pick him up if you guys need him to". At this point, if they were going to charge me an extra $30 daycare fee, I feel as though this would have been an appropriate time. I rushed back from my trip from out of town to pick him up. When I inquired about the daycare, they said "oh, anytime after 3PM you get charged full daycare rate". Why did I rush back from my trip then? "Do you want to come back then?" - This response made me actually stop in my tracks due to how unprofessional it was. Yikes. I spent about $96 on 1 day of boarding, bath, and full daycare rate. They used to call 30 minutes prior to the grooming being done and apparently they do not do that anymore either. They used to have online scheduling & confirmation - they do not have this option anymore. The staff at the front desk used to be professional, warm and kind. Something here at "Wee" Little Paws Inn has changed and it's definitely not just the name. I love Alison and she is literally the only reason I would ever come back here. I'm going to have to start looking for a new place because I want my dog to go somewhere where he and his "mom" are treated less like a walking checkbook and more like a family, how it used to be before they decided to get all corporate-feel. :( read more

Wee Little Paws Inn is the BEST doggie daycare and grooming! Everyone there - and I do mean everyone - is so wonderful to work with. I have a French Bulldog and he plays so hard with the other Frenchies (they're a pack!) that he comes home exhausted! They love on him all day and they post weekly videos of the different groups playing. I actually go out of my way to take my dog there on my way to work. You can do half days or full days, and have their grooming done while at daycare (separate charge but very reasonable!). HIGHLY recommend! read more

I have a dachshund mix and chihuahua that go here regularly for daycare and I couldn't be happier. With x-small dogs it's dangerous for them to be around larger dogs and this place gives me and my little fur babies the attention and daycare that is tailored for each of their personalities and peace of mind that they are safe and happy with other small dogs! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Wee Paws-from the staff to the facilities. They don't have cages and have big playrooms dedicated to the activity level of your specific dog so they get the proper activity & socialization they are comfortable with. I bring my dog here 2 to 3 times per week while at work, and I've had nothing but great experiences. The employees genuinely care and love these dogs, they know each one by name which is impressive because there are many of the same breed here. My dog was timid at first, but she now LOVES the days she goes to daycare. We left our sweet dog Lily for boarding for a week and when we picked her up, she had a left hung leg injury. When asked what had happened, no one could explain-worse off, even wanted to try to explain what had happened. Asked to speak with the owner...and the Manager, (owners niece) was less than helpful and explained that it was her day off. read more

Little Paws is a treasure, just a wonderful place for both boarding and day care. Our sheltie Daley loved to go there for day care. He was an older dog and the staff found a room where he could be mellow and enjoy the other dogs but not be irritated by highly active, younger dogs. I always believed that they interacted with all the dogs in a way that suited their personalities. After boarding, they provide a Report Card with stars and comments on eating, interactions, medications, just like a Day Care center. My daughters always loved hearing about his doggy achievements during this stay! Grooming is great, the hours are great. And the drop off - pick up couldn't be easier. Sadly our Daley has gone to that big park in doggy heaven. We received the nicest card, personally signed with favorite memories, from the Little Paws staff. I have been coming here for years. I initially started because they were the only place with hours past 6 pm for those of us who work later and want day care play time while working. They instantly got to know my dog and me on first name basis - literally all of the people who work there know my pup upon sight. It's also nice that you don't typically have to schedule day care in advance, though they get booked over holiday season, which is super convenient. So in moving back from California I was looking for a doggy day camp for my little 8 lb chihuahua/terrier mix. Luckily I came across Little Paws Inn and I am so happy I did! First and foremost I LOVE the fact that they only cater to small dogs! Because my little man is NOT a huge fan of playing with large dogs! I loved the facility, it has 3 different rooms that the staff rotate the dogs into during the day so they don't get bored and if weather permitted they have a spacious backyard to let them out and play! I also loved the fact that the dogs are only in their crates for ONE hour no more where as in other places i.e. petsmart where they cut off their play time at 5pm booo ha. Their prices are incompatible to any other dog day camp I've spoke to in the area! In comparisons to prices: it's $15 half /$ 25 full OR a package of 25 half day sessions for $300 WHEREAS other places were somewhere in the park of for 20/25 sessions it was 375/390 ...WHAAAAT so of course WHY would I go anywhere else BUT Little Paws Inn! Lastly, the staff is FANTASTIC!! Everyone is super nice an assisting in answering questions. It was just a fantastic over all experience. I will be buying the 25 session package of 300 ( its a half day rate btw NOT full day.. That's a little more obviously). Btw: they also offer grooming services as well! And when I board my dog in the future I will also be boarding them here! If I had to say ANYTHING negative the ONLY thing I would say when they go to lunch from 12-1 SOMETIMES no one is there, but all the dogs our in their cottages so I'm not a super crazy pet parent that I cant deal with that one thing ;-) Last word if your in the area DO NOT dear go anywhere else you will be wasting your money!! read more

Words cannot describe how much I love and trust Little Paws with my rescue puppy Molly! I have yet to need to VB board her but I've been bringing her once a week for socialization since we were blessed with her in Febr and now are taking puppy classes. Molly is so excited to be there and I'm so happy that the Little Paws staff seem just as happy to see her. I met with a few trainers before taking Brittany's classes and didn't get a good vibe - we.are only.3 weeks or so into training and I've seen great progress! read more

Outstanding and loving staff!!! They take such good care of Charlie. We've been taking him here since moving to the area 1 1/2 years ago. They truly love dogs and take such great care of them. We've boarded Charlie for a week when we went on vacation. It was our first time and we were very happy with the care given to him. I know Charlie loves coming here too! Guster loves it here. The each get their own little house and white fence for the night. They get to play and have fun in a safe environment. Baths, nails and everything else is available. The staff treats each dog like it was their own. A reason why it is full a lot, so call ahead especially on holidays. I cannot say enough good things about this place! read more

Nicest people! They took care of our little 4 Month old like we do! We were nervous leaving him but he loved it. About a month ago we stopped in the day before as we had a need for daycare the next day. They were able to take our pup in the next day. First time there , first hair cut! Rest of the day -daycare. This doggy place is simply AMAZING!!! I used to take my toy poodle for daycare once in a while, always a good experience!! A few years ago I adopted a Brussels Griffon and have been taking both of my pups there for grooming with Allison!!! I cannot express my gratitude!! The Best in the Midwest! I can not believe how great they are at Little Pawsl...our little man goes there almost daily. Everyone is personable, professional and makes us feel at ease. We LOVE our puppy and when we drop him off for day care or over night...we know he is in good hands!
