We used Weedex for a couple of years. After asking them not to use our water in the front of our house they continued to do so. They also removed our freeze cover off the faucet and didn't replace it twice even after we asked them to not remove it. Luckily our pipe didn't freeze this last freeze we had. We also had a mountain laurel they slowly killed in the yard. I do not recommend them unless you want to have them use your water, have a frozen pipe after they neglect to replace the cover and dead plants/trees. read more

They are notorious for quoting a price and not disclosing information that is pertinent to cancelling their services or the fact that this service is not a pay as you go as initially misrepresented when you agree to use their services. The service managers are rude, the general manager for this area, Chris was rude when I complained about the products and services being substandard. When I announced that I no longer wanted to use their services is when I was informed by Chris that I would have to pay the difference of the promotional cost and the regular cost. Complete rip-off and scam artists. They offered the first service at a 50% discount, which I paid for, and then I paid for the second service at full price. I was not happy with their services or the company after the second service, and canceled all subsequent services. I never signed a contract obligating me to any future services, nor was there anything about paying for the difference on the discounted service or a cancellation fee. Yet, I received a bill for $36.47, which I assume is for the remaining half of the initial discount. They didn't explain why I was billed that amount, since there were no unpaid services, yet they sent me repeated notices about an unpaid balance. Then they had the sheer audacity to send the erroneous bill to collections. This company is as sleazy as they come and should be avoided at all costs. read more

After many years as a happy customer, weedex changed their approach to treating lawns with my current technician and my new home. The tech does not really understanding how to bring a lawn to a healthy status. He used a blanket approach for all lawns and only spent about 5-6 minutes here each time. My technician kept blaming it on drought and bad mowing practice and there was no reason to use that excuse on me repeatedly since we had the most rain in a long time as well as regular watering on my part and knowing more about lawn care than he does. However my yard went from a brand new yard one year ago to a yard that looks like it's barely surviving today because of the new procedures and the bad technician. Additionally the technician argued with me and said "it obviously doesn't matter what I tell you". After having two visits from the manager that came out, we decided to discontinue service going forward after he told me that there is really nothing that they will do different since they switched to a non-balanced liquid versus a balanced granular and it was their choice to stay on that. I would not recommend anyone using this company anymore based on their new business procedures. It's a shame because I recommended weedex to my 2000 neighbors in this large McKinney community I will have to go back and tell everyone to disregard and stay away. read more

This is a dishonest company and I do not recommend. I spoke with them and asked about the services they provide. They listed a bunch of stuff and asked for payment up front for the rest of the year. I paid it. A few days later they come out and automatically want to charge extra for a bunch of different things. I called them back and told them I do not want their services. They refused to give me my money back until a manager came out to my property. I told them not to send anyone and they said it was protocol in order to end services. It was very obvious that I was 100% not happy with them. Not once did anyone from the company attempt to call me. They literally do not care about anything but $$$$. In September a different technician came out and he did not service my backyard. I have cameras back there so I knew. After that weeds flourished in the back. I emailed to cancel and their reply was "Due to the nature of our subscription services, your lawn care will continue from year to year, and season to season. Unfortunately, our software does not allow us to schedule account closures for a future date or disable the auto-renew feature. Please set a reminder in your calendar to call us around mid-December to cancel your services." That is shady customer service not allowing me to cancel. They just finished the last of my prepaid service so I emailed again and called. I got the person on the phone to state I would not be charged again and then she put me on hold and when she came back she said the service manager had to come out to inspect the property and he would do the cancellation. If you read the review from Roderick U on August 27th, 2024 it is the exact same thing. There is no need for anybody to come back on my property. This company is shady in trying to get you to not cancel. I would skip and find a more legitimate company. read more

Used them for a while now... they give an hour's notice that they are coming, but when we contact them to say don't come because we still have Christmas decorations on the lawn and a thick layer of leaves they say it's too late to cancel. We have been Weedex customers for many years and had been really happy in the beginning. Had the same technician for a long time, and he was very helpful in addressing questions and concerns. The past couple of years, the tech has frequently been a different, and although polite didn't really seem knowledgeable, and our lawn was starting to have issues. This year, someone came out a couple of months ago when lawns were still dormant, apparently applying pre-emergent. Over the past several weeks, we've watched as neighbors who are less diligent about lawncare have gotten green grass while ours still has a lot of brown and starting to get bald patches despite watering, mowing, and even raking to help get the loose, dead grass out. Called Weedex and was told they had just started spring feedings (it was already late April), and we were set for week #8, which would mean they wouldn't be out until early June! When we expressed concern about waiting that long the gal told us she would have a supervisor contact us. Several days passed with no word. Placed a follow-up call and same gal expressed surprise no one had been in touch, saying she was sure they'd gotten the message she'd left. She said she'd leave the supervisor another message. More days pass...nothing. We called again and this time were told if we want a supervisor to come out, it would be 7-10 days, but that still would not move up their timing to feed our lawn. Supervisor came out today, basically making excuses in response for our concerns and simply saying once they come to do the feeding, it will green right up. (By then, the summer heat will be setting in, which then their excuse will be that the issues are heat-related!) Really disappointed to see what was a great company go so far downhill, but in reading the reviews, it appears we are far from the only longtimers who have experienced this. We won't be using them any longer, and the supervisor didn't seem to care when told that. read more

I have been with Weedex for over ten years and I understand that sometimes price increases have to be done in order to turn a profit. WeedEx has always done a good job at treating my lawn. But, after the latest price increase, I called to cancel my service and I spoke with Nichole in the sales department and she was able to get me a newer rate that I was more comfortable with since they did not want to lose me as a customer. Nichole was pleasant and very professional and seemed genuinely concerned that I was willing to discontinue the service if something wasn't done. They pull a fast one. After your prepaid contract runs out. They contact you and say there is one more treatment under your expired prepaid contract. Later they charge you for the treatment and send you an email thanking you for renewing your contract. Is that a successful business model? Whoa!! Our lawn was overrun with weeds in spite of using weedex for years. We fired weedex for doing a terrible job. Upon firing them, they insisted on coming onto our property one last time for a managerial inspection. We told them they weren't welcome on our property. They responded by saying they can't guarantee they wouldn't come on our property again. Even when we told them that we would file trespassing charges, they still insisted that they had a right to come on property because it's their "protocol." In short, they do a terrible job and feel they have a right to your property after they've been fired. This is gross misconduct and criminal behavior! Avoid at all costs! read more

I do not recommend WeedEx!! Apparently spot treatment is the same price as a full application. Paid for the entire year of services up front. During my last service, the tech sprayed less than a quarter of my yard but I am still charged as a full application. Upon speaking with the manager, he explained that St. Augustine does not require the full 8 applications and cannot be treated as other types of grasses. If that is the case, then design a treatment plan according to the type of grass a customer has and do not recommend the 8 applications. You wouldn't go to a restaurant and pay full price for a burger only to receive a bun and then expect the customer to be please with the service. So I just called to ask the receptionist to take me off the auto-renewal for the upcoming 2025 year since I will not be a returning customer and she said, "we're telling everyone to call back in December, we do not have a way to cancel auto renewals in our system until December." SMH. Apparently, I'm not the only customer who's not returning. Sadly with today's economy, some businesses do not care to retain their customers. Matt representing Weedex came to my house & gave me the straight story. My yard was dead from St Augustine grass root rot fungus. Thankfully he was honest that he could kill my weeds but would leave me with a mud yard. This photo shows a patch of thriving weeds our front lawn. Can you tell that we pay $78 every 6 weeks to have the weeds treated? I certainly can't tell. There are many more patches of thriving weeds throughout our lawn. I have to go pull weeds by hand about once a month despite paying weedex to regularly come treat our lawn. Not sure what they use but it clearly doesn't work. I have called them back for retreatments multiple times and it still has shown success. Last year when we used TruGreen we did not have this issue. The summer we bought weed killer from Home Depot we did not have this issue. I'm very frustrated that we have spent hundreds of dollars over the last few months so we wouldn't have to worry about hand pulling weeds yet we still continue to do so. I recommend you save your money and not bother with the regular treatment plan. However, I gave this review two stars instead of just one because we paid extra for dallisgrass weed treatment and that one worked. All the other weeds included in the regular treatment plan? I have had service with Weedex at 2 different properties. At the most recent one I had called in to freeze treatment indefinitely as I was putting my house on the market. They skipped one treatment but then resumed again (unauthorized) after I had already moved out of the house. I called and they confirmed they had treated and demanded I pay for it. I declined as my account was supposed to be on hold and the treatment shouldn't even have happened. They have now sent my account to COLLECTIONS for a measly $45 for a treatment that was not even authorized in the first place. Every previous year I have renewed my service in January and paid for the year in full. This year I did new renew as I have no grass because they killed it all. To my surprise, Weedex showed up and continued to service my lawn even though I didn't renew. Now they are demanding payment because all of a sudden they auto enroll customers. I've tried for months to contact Theresa (the office manager). I've called, sent email, reached our TK the call center and to their tech department. I could never get a response. This year has been the straw breaker. I started calling them Monday January 30th to get someone to quote me the rate for this year. I enjoyed the way my yard was looking for the past year until they raised the price from $39 (small yard) to now $65 for each treatment. I could see a small increase of maybe $5 but $25!! Please don't use this service . From the very first service, the guy lied about servicing the backyard since the gate is chained and locked . I called and informed them what happened and nothing was done . After 6 months service , weeds are all over my backyard with dallas grass and clovers . In the very beginning and through out the process , I was told that they will treat the dallas grass and it is on the schedule . I showed the guy the dallas grass in the very first assessment, I was told that they will treat it .Then I was told yesterday that they don't treat dallas grass and it would cost extra charge .
