Very good to excellent produce, meats, seafood and cheese selection. The organic section can't really compete with local organic markets in area except that it is convenient to have it with mainstream groceries. Definitely better organic selection than other large grocery chains. Flow of store is unusual. I.e. location of frozen sections are before non refrigerated/perishables. Easy to miss items do to arrangement of shelves. Staff is excellent and very helpful to locate items. I am also a bit disappointed with the regular grocery selection. The cafe has an amazing selection. Everything I have had there has been pretty good. Way too busy on the weekends! I have been in many Wegmans (for a few minor items like milk) when visiting people in other towns. I was excited to see one come to the area and the one stop shopping potential. I was less impressed when I actually tried to really shop. All that being said, I will definitely continue to shop there. However, I still will have to fill in the gaps of my shopping list elsewhere. read more

I found one of their shopping carts today about half a mile away from the store on the path through the woods in the Walden Community. After calling the store and informing them I'd be glad to leave the cart in front of my home so they wouldn't have to scour the woods for it, the maintenance person responded they wouldn't miss it and that he was too busy to drive over. Ok idiot, so we should just leave it in the woods on a nature path forever?? The thing probably cost $500, but you don't have 10 minutes out of your day to retrieve it? Is Wegmans so rich they just throw away their carts and trash our community with them?? What a total bozo operation. read more

It is a HUGE grocery store with more isles to wander through than a Sam's club store-- and though they have an incredible array of everything-- to me, it was like trying to find a rest room at BWI during a busy holiday departure day-- people, people, people everywhere and constantly bouncing into, off of, or trying to avoid them just to be able to take a few minutes to search the isles for something, anything-- heck with it, it's easier and less complicated to shop at Whole Foods or Mom's. read more

I really like this store, they are a bit pricey, but the produce is always really fresh and they have just about EVERYTHING. The only think I can't find is Dave's Killer Bread. The store layout is confusing at first though. Kind of like three separate stores in one. read more

This is the best grocery store I have been to in Maryland! They have an amazing cheese section with samples pretty frequently! They also have an awesome selection of health foods. I was afraid for certain things in my diet I'd have to go to a health food stores but almost anything you can want is here. They have an impressive meat/egg/dairy substitute selection. I LOVE THIS STORE! It is always clean. The employees are helpful and cheerful. You never really have to wait in line long at check out. Some of the prices are a little higher, but they do double coupons which helps out. Also, they send lots of good coupons in the mail. We just moved to the area, and I am so excited that I discovered this grocery store! It's like a target and whole foods all in one. Great selection of organic produce, milk and yogurt, and meats. I love Wegmans. I don't live in the area but I come here twice a month. I think that they have some of the freshest produce around. I love the meat counters too. I bought the absolute best prime rib roast here and it was phenomenal. Occasionally when I don't want to cook I'll get one of their huge pizzas made fresh while you shop. I love the hot food bar but I think $8.99 is crazy expensive per pound. I miss the little shrimp pockets things that used to be on the Asian hot food section. It was like a mega crispy shrimp toast...wish they'd bring it back. Other than that I love Wegmans. read more

We hit this location up every now and then since we are closer to the Columbia location, but the staff here seem friendlier, though maybe that is because there is less traffic here when I have visited compared to my usual time at the other location. Fruit and veggies have always been high quality while the Wegmans brand has never left me disappointed. Some of their organic branded products leave me scratching my head, but I still think it is more for marketing because someone will just see organic and buy it over the identical product next to it without the label. read more

I heard about Wegmans from co-worker long time ago and been thinking of checking it out. Finally, my curiosity was realized when before the movie at Regal, we ventured inside and find some good deals such as generic item cereals by Wegmans at $1.99. Nowadays, without coupons cereals are expensive; add to insult is the price of milk and gas. Wegmans offers quality products. We talked to the butcher and learned about the story of their high graded meat on where they get them exclusively and how they are preserved. This place has to be my favorite grocery store ever! I came last night after a disappointing dinner to grab a midnight snack for my family and I. We were not able to find the section of honey and the cash register asked if I needed any help, after she saw me running back and down the main isle. Later when I went to check out, she remembered that I had asked for the honey and if I found everything okay. Their customer service is great, the place was restocked nicely and very clean. Simply the best customer service I have ever received from Wegman's Anthony and his team in the Meat Department. They went above and beyond to find a product we wanted - a product they don't even carry - and brought it to the store for us to pick up. Everything about the transaction was seemless and enjoyable, from the phone being answered on the first ring, to return calls in the same half hour, to the guidance on the product and ordering specifics. We drive 15 minutes past two Giants a Safeway and Shoppers food to get here. Won't shop anywhere else. Always Fresh and if it is not you bring it back no questions asked. I'm comparing this store to the Columbia store. It's a very good store but I think the buffet food is better prepared with more selection at the Columbia store. Wegmans just feels like a complete supermarket with a very good food / bakery section. Wegmans is still better overall than Whole Foods but not by much. If you are looking for super healthy food then Whole Foods is the way to go (many non-GMO offerings). read more

Wegman's in Crofton posts their Corporate promises of good food and service, etc. on their walls; but fails to meet corporate standards; and the management I believe, knowingly fails to hold their staff to reasonable standards of cleanliness and service.. Friends tell me that the Columbia Wegman's is cleaner and the staff much friendlier. Recently I met a group of friends at the Crofton Wegman's where we had to wipe off the tables and chairs to remove sticky debris and crumbs; While we were chatting and eating prepared foods from the hot bar, we noticed that the vegetables appeared to be old and dried up.. One member of the group said that those vegetables were usually plumper and more tender.. Another of the group said that the vegetables tasted like they were left over from the previous day. I think Wegman's charges enough for prepared foods (at about 10 dollars a pound) to offer freshly prepared foods. This practice fails to meet their professed standards of quality and freshness. Often the staff at the deli area are unfriendly and don't act like they care about wanting return business. Perhaps the uncleanliness of the tables and dining area is the reason a huge inch-long roach ran along the food bar area. Things could have been worse- it could have been a rodent. this is not to suggest that there are no good or earnestly hard-working employees at the Crofton store; the ones who care the most are usually the younger ones recently out of school or still in school; they still beleive in doing their best. But those few can't make up for the many who repeatedly have bad attitudes and who think it is the customer's responsibility to clean the tables and accept poor quality food. But then isn't that what management is all about? Isn't it management's job to ensure that each employee is doing what the corporate standards demand and what customers expect? read more

This pharmacy has inadequate stocks. Often it has been necessary to wait a day to have common prescriptions filled. Also orders for multiple refills never seem to be handled properly with one or more being dropped. This pharmacy needs a management policy revamp. read more

I shop at many places but when I want to purchase organic products I go to Wegmans in Crofton. I recently purchased organic grass-fed chuck roast. I was excited to make pot roast for tonight. I opened the bag and it smelled terrible. The meat was not expired but smelled awful. I called the store and asked for the store manager. I was fired up and wanted to complain, since I drive 20 min to shop there. The store manager Patrick listened to my complaint, and asked me if I would like for him to bring me a new one. I was shocked. What? He was going to come to my house with a new chuck roast. I have never heard of such response. I have worked in retail management myself and I was pleasantly surprised for anyone to go out of their way to make things right. I couldn't have been happier and I will more than ever go back to Wegmans to shop there. Thank you Patrick for taking Customer Service to the next level! read more

We like Wegmans and overall they are a cut above even whole foods. Today was a typical Sunday, really crowded and under stocked. The corn was picked over, watermelons were in a basket, overall stock on shelves not good. Plus there was some sort of smoking wire in the fruit area that smelled so bad people were coughing and the staff treated it very nonchallantly. I can only go on Sunday 's so I wish they would fix that. read more

I only come in here for the Sushi, which is always fresh and delicious. Although I do not shop, the one time I did it took me way too long to find what I needed. I've never seen a grocery store like this. We relocated from further south and I hope they expand and have heard they are opening one in NC. Anyway, lots of options and lots of nice produce. I buy organic and Wegmans has a good selection for Organic. Hopefully, they will only expand in that department too. Store is clean. Service is usually good. The only reasons I didn't give it five stars: One, they just went up on the prepared food price again. It's by the pound and $9.49 is just too much. And, two, on Sunday's, which I try to avoid or at least avoid going to after 11am on Sunday's. The church crowd all goes shopping at Wegmans on Sunday evidently. And while Wegmans can't control that, they always end up stocking on Sunday's during the noon-4pm time frame. So, you are battling huge crowds and stocking crews with product out in the aisle. Why not stock on Saturday nights? I understand they may need to replenish on Sunday's from the crowds, but that's not what it appears to be. So for me, I avoid Sunday's. And I'm about to stop buying from their prepared food cafeteria due to increases in price again. If the new Harris Teeter in Bowie has a good selection of produce and a good cafeteria at better prices, that'll be enough to steal me away. But, that's yet to be seen because admit-tingly, I don't think they'll be easy to beat. All in all, a solid 4 stars for Wegmans. read more

I am glad Wegmans is closer to me now. Really liked them when I lived in NY. Best place to get snappys and potato/cheese perogies.
