Please be aware. This location/office employees were unprofessional and dishonest except for one employee (I believe she was Asian). The other employees were dishonest and will con you to purchase eye wear that are not needed or covered by your insurance. Also, they over charge you for a simple eye exam and make significant errors with your insurance billing. One tech stood over me with her long nails and waved them in my face when I inquired about the billing which was incorrect. My goodness, this was a horrible experience and I am not returning. Unfortunately, I am out of $400.00 and the eye wear gives me vertigo. I hope others are not treated like I was treated. read more

I had an exam on Nov 24, 2024, at Weinstein & Assoc, Waldorf office, at which time I discussed changing from trifocal to bifocal lenses. The Dr. said that I could do that. After the exam, I met with an associate and I told her I wanted to use my current frames for the new lenses. She wasn't happy about that and said my frames were old and they would not be responsible if they got broken and that I would have to sign a waiver, which I signed. I get it - she just wanted to sell new frames. But my frames were in excellent condition being less than 2 years old. When I returned to the store to pick up my glasses, my frames were fine, not broken; however the new lenses wrong, trifocal not bifocal, as I requested. I informed the associate of the error and repeated my conversation with the Dr. The associate just sat there, said nothing, no response. Forward 6 months, May 20, 2025, I returned because multiple lines were appearing at the top and the side of my left lens. Same associate. I waited, she fiddled on her computer, spoke with another associate, went in the back of the store, returned and said my frames were "old" and "falling apart". I could get a plan for $379 and choose 1 of 3 frames she felt were similar to my own (they were not). I was shocked at this response. My frames, purchased July 16, 2022, were not old, nor falling apart. And I said so. She repeated they're old, falling apart, will get broken if sent to the lab and added they're oxidized. Again, I was so shocked, could not believe they would not replace a defective lens only 6 months old and insist my frames were falling apart, and add insult to injury, offer new frames for almost $400. I think not! At that point, I knew I was getting nowhere, didn't want to cause a scene in a store full of customers, so I thanked her and quietly left. I plan never to return. read more

I received three phone calls on 2/12 to confirm my 2/13 appointment and that they planned to be open. The receptionist made sure to confirm that IF the office closed early due to inclement weather on 2/13, they would CALL ME to reschedule. Well--no call received, so I figured they must be open. I called their office twice today (because I don't want to be charged a penalty for not showing up for my appointment) and their phone greeting says "Hi -sorry we can't answer your call right now because we are helping another patient right now and cannot answer your call. Please leave a message and we will call you right back...." I even call to say I'm running late cause of the weather-same message. I arrived at their office at 2:40 PM on 2/13 and see a sign on their door "OUR OFFICE WILL BE OPENING 2/13 AT 12PM DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER". Guess what... THEY'RE CLOSED! How professional. Now I get to drive back home in that inclement weather that they could not make it through today and I get to call and schedule a new appointment at THEIR convenience. (Seriously-I understand the decision to close due to weather but you could not call customers to notify them or even change your greeting? Was that too much to ask after notifying customers multiple times of your intent to be open and to notify of closures???). read more

I've been going to Weinstein for the past 4 years. This year was a bust. I waited for a scheduled exam for over an hour while other customers came in up to 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment were ushered in for their exam and there was two optometrists there that day. (But wait there's more) I was finally taken back, examined and picked out my frames for the new prescription. This was on June 9 2022. They told me the glasses would be in the first of July. Its July 27 and no glasses yet, why, nobody knows. I didn't get any calls with any info and only after my calls did I get cryptic texts from someone saying that the lenses didn't pass inspection. I know it's not the office's fault but can't you follow through on something like this? This place has lost me as a customer and if you're smart you would find glasses elsewhere. Like I said they where among the best (not cheap mind you) around but they have certainly fallen into last place for me. read more

During my first time stopping in the receptionist were extremely helpful. They reviewed my insurance information and informed me of the exact benefits I receive. My insurance has no deductible for a specific line of frames, but some eye specialists only carry a select few. I was able to look at 3 full cases and even picked 2 pairs that I liked. They documented them on my account so I wouldn't have to track them down again. Before I left I was able to set up an appointment for an exam for the next day. I was able to fill out my medical history form later online at my convince to save time. When I arrived for my appointment I was seen promptly and had a friendly experience with everyone I interacted with. After the exam I confirmed the pair of frames I wanted, paid my bill and left. The entire process took less than an hour. When my frames were ready I received a text message from them informing me they were available for pick up. I walked in, tried them on, and left in less than 10 min. Again everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. My family and I will be using Weinstein Eye Associates for a long time to come. read more

I am a previous customer at Weinstein Eye Associates. My overall experience this time was pretty good although when you're ready to shop for frames , be prepared to bring along Fort Knox because they are really expensive by the time they add in all of the extras and if your eyes are terrible like mine are , then be prepared to bend over..I know this from buying glasses before but also keep in mind that designer frames are expensive as well , so be informed ..bring your wallet..They were very professional..I was pleased with that aspect of it so I will return based on that..I just know going in to bring my ATM CARD..Lol.. read more

I visited this location at the beginning of November for myself and daughter. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor were all professional and very helpful. After the eye exam we were helped by Robert Poblador. He was so very polite, kind, and knowledgeable about all the frames. He explained what the cost would be for the frames we were interested in and did some measurements to ensure the fit would be perfect. He did not try to pressure us into buying things we didn't need and I appreciated that. When our glasses were ready we were contacted immediately. The glasses were a perfect fit and we were both very happy with our experience at Weinstein Eye Associates. I would recommend this location and especially Robert to all of my friends for their eye wear needs. read more

My wife went by while I was at work and they produced my glasses. I would like to keep my current 1 star rating. They still suck.

We were patients for many years but recently it became a battle instead of an annual eye exam. Felt like the practice replaced good customer service with getting the max $$ out of customers. After one too many added costs, which were not asked for (ie glasses insurance, anti-glare), we decided it was 3 strikes, you're out--time to go elsewhere. It is a shame because they have a great selection of glasses but the yearly fight to get want we want, not what we didn't want, became too much. read more

If there were an option for negative stars, I would give it. I first came to see Dr. Aaron Weinstein after I experienced blurred vision in Jan. 2010. He told me that I had a Posterior Vitreous Detachment, which he assured me was very common and not a problem unless iI noticed a sudden change in vision such as new floaters. I experienced what seemed like hundreds of new floaters on March 12, 2010, along with some loss of vision. I called Weinstein Ass. Immediately to tell Dr. Aaron Weinstein the new developments in my vision. He was booked and would not see me until the following day. His wife, Dr. Melinda Weinstein saw me on March 13th and diagnosed a retinal detachment, for which I had emergency surgery at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Now that I know more about retinal issues, I know that Dr. A. Weinstein should have suggested that I have cryopexy, or freezing of the PVD, to avoid a full detachment. Knowing my retinal history, he should certainly have seen me as an emergency visit the day I first called with complications. I probably shouldd have sued him for medical malpractice. read more

Ordered an item but did not get it when promised. Checked with other eye glass businesses and found them to be much cheaper for the same item. Requested a discount but was offered only a small one. I requested my money back and they required a 20% restocking fee even though I never had possession of it. In the end they did refund all of my money. I went here last year (2014) to just pick out a frame. I went again just recently with my husband and never will again. Rude, impolite, disengaged employees. Everyone that walks through their door should be treated respectfully. You should be assisted in selecting the proper frames. One thing you should never do is place a product down on the table and just walk away, not saying thank you or anything once the customer has made purchase. May not matter but they have lost an expensive customer. Be careful whom represents your business! read more

I wish I had looked at these reviews before I booked my appointment. I showed up for my appointment today, and they informed me there was no doctor in and I should have received a call to reschedule. While I was there, someone else walked in who also didn't get a call that there was no doctor in for their scheduled appointment. Lenses kept popping out the 1st day it was received, returned the 2nd day to find out which was defective, size of the lense or frame itself. Was told the screws need to simply be tightened up. Clerk tightened it and I went out of town, lenses popped again more than a dozen times within 3 days. I went back to exchanged the frames for a different one, was told to pay $30+ more out of pocket. Thought I chose a more expensive frame only to find out after another visit that it was for a breakage warranty, which should had been told as it was a nonworthy option for my case. Ended up also getting a basic frame that's below $100 vs the the $279 initial frame paid for. Would had been nice to be told of the price deifferences so, an equivalent would had been chosen. Finally, given the replacement after a week only to find out that the replacement frame is once again defective (uneven bottom coloring that reflects on how the bottom lense look). Asked to speak to the mgr, she acknowledged that it was a frame- defect and had the lab-guy moved the lens to somehow fix it. It made it less visible yet the defect was still there. I expressed my dissatisfaction only to be more dismayed at what the caucasian mgr said. Was told that "No frames are perfect", and that since they just replaced the 1st defective one, I'd need to pay a 20% restocking fee if I'm to refuse the 2nd defective one. Was already feeling furious at the waste of time, money and patience so, I hurried out the door vowing never to come back again, with my defective eyewear in tow. Losing me and my husband as their customers won't mean anything to them but please, buyers beware!! Their frames are btw way overpriced. What's worse, no accountability for defective frames/work the second time around. read more
