Everything was all set up with people's names at their designated seating area. All tools were set up & neatly placed. I do wish there was a bit more instruction on some of the tools & the process, but everyone helped one another. The instructor was also very patient. I chose to make two ghosts. My daughter made a pumpkin and a ghost. Can't wait to see how these turn out. They will go in the kiln and we will return to paint them in a week or so, then they will fire them again. The class price included all that, which I think is a bargain! There is a (free) train museum on the grounds that has many interesting artifacts and a working model train. There is also a diner that has snacks available for purchase. The best part of Silver Lake Railroad is that it operates on donation only...so it is very affordable for a family to enjoy this excursion. She introduced us to our Captain Brian, who welcomed us warmly and familiarized us with the safety features as well as the background on the Gorgeous wooden Hacker Craft, with its exquisite rich wood and lovely hunter green upholstery. Brian was phenomenal! His knowledge of the Lake is vast, and he has a gift for communicating in a way that is educational, fun and engaging! It's as if he's been doing this forever, and gave us a perspective on Winnipesaukee that was multi-faceted...taking in points of environmental interest such as loons and an actual volcano, human interest, such as celebrity residents, all the while cleverly weaving in the rich history of the lake, including a very heartwarming story of a young Native American man and his lovely bride to be. It was as if he was introducing the lake like an old friend. Brian is seasoned and at the same time humorous. We enthusiastically recommend this cruise. We loved it!

And even though there was a fairly stiff breeze blowing up some chop, the Millie B just plowed through it all. Just be aware that getting wet is all part of the trip.... I want to do it again! The NH Boat Museum is still housed in its location on Center Street, and you can see how great it will be when they move into their new spot in a couple of years - hopefully. Be sure you watch the historic video before going through the museum itself so you get a better sense for the things that you'll see. This isn't a big museum, and if you don't appreciate the historical significance of these boats and life in the Lakes Region, then you probably won't enjoy the 5 minutes that you'll spend walking through the exhibit. My wife and I savored each boat and read all of the documentation, and really enjoyed it.

Nothing like the original tv show. Why he chose this, who knows. It didn't help that the whole first act was not funny at all. His acting made it torturous. A couple people walked out before the first act was done and a few more after the close of it. We were tempted but hung in. The second act was a somewhat funny thanks to more characters, but still...we couldn't wait for it to be over. The following is not a comment on "Oscar's" weight but on the impact of it. He is very large and reminded us all of Ralph Kramden, but larger. The 6 of us were worried for him when he had to run back and forth a little bit and was then breathing Very heavy and sweating profusely even after sitting a while. I couldn't stop looking at him as he sat in a chair, to see if he was ok. Every time he crossed the stage his weight was a distraction from the his acting and from the play. Which was sad since he Can act! In the end, not funny enough to sit through.

Finding the playhouse was easy and it's a few miles from downtown Meredith. Parking was really easy considering the show was sold out and the playhouse itself is picturesque and charming. The theatre only holds a couple of hundred so it's easy to get in and out. I would highly recommend coming to see a show. The actors are professionals and each show brings a different cast. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will be back!
