We have a 1 1/2 year living in our home and the toilet has not operated correctly for a while now, no amount of plunging was taking care of the problem. I logged into yelp on my droid to find a plumber in the area and these guys came up. I called them around 930 in the morning and they scheduled an appointment for 1pm. First of all, same day service is AWESOME! They arrived on time and ready to work. After some work they were able to remove what was causing the stoppage. Apparently the 1 1/2 year old decided to flush one of the dogs bones. Mike Welch was professional, personable, courteous, clean and efficient. I had a working toilet in less than an hour. Was 45 minutes late and after having waited for him to fix a leak 2 days he was offended because I asked him to use an inexpensive Home Depot brand faucet. Then he told me to go find another plumber. Sounds crazy but 100% true. Wasted 2.5 days and I had to start the process of looking for someone all over again. Our 80's home needed a recirculating pump installed. We were wasting a lot of money waiting for the water to heat up for showers and baths. They installed it in a couple of hours. Later that week, they came back to insulate our pipes. The work was done in an hour or so and they were so courteous about making sure the insulation would not fly into the baby's room. I was hesitant to replace an ice maker box/valve behind our refrigerator. I called the general number and Mike promptly returned my call. Mike was honest about his busy schedule, but walked me through the installation process over the phone. He even texted me with photos to confirm the type of valve I needed. I then felt confident enough to replace the valve myself and did so with minimal effort. I obviously can't speak for his work product, but the fact that he gave free instructions to a new customer over the phone speaks volumes. Mike and Rick were awesome. They had great communication, were easy to get a hold of, and actually arrived early. I had a wash cloth go down one of my drains and they were able to not just clear the pipe but actually snake the cloth back out. They were super friendly, efficient and professional. We've used Chaz & crew twice. Once two years ago and just this past week. Both times 8th was to repair a slab leak. Last time it was under the kitchen & the decision was made to take the new plumbing 'up & over', as in overhead into the ceiling like new homes do. Enter the holiday season 2014: oh yea, another slab leak--this time hot water. I came back into the house & saw a puddle near my laundry room. I thought the dpf.may have made 'an accident', but no. As I investigated different areas, I noticed the den floor was REALLY WARM, like a heated floor. I was very close to being able to tell where it was. They jackhammered up that spot, but the pinhole area couldn't be silver-soldered because the xopper pipe as too corroded, so another decision for overhead plumbing was made. It's too bad we didn't forward-think' it all, as it would've saved us a ton on recutting almost the ame areas! read more

I have never done a review for a business before. However, my experience with this business was very very disappointing. First, the plumber arrived 2 hour late with no call that he would be late. Rich, the plumber, was a very nice guy and he tried very hard, but after 2 1/2 hours trying to install the sink little progress was made, It was now 8:30 pm and I wanted to have dinner so I asked him to come back in the morning to complete the job.. He returned in the morning at 8 am with two other plumbers including the owner, MC Welch himself. We had a short and unpleasant discussion, which he told me that he could not mount the top mount sink flat with the counter. He said that if I purchased the sink from him he could probably figure out how to improve the mounting. I was not happy with his comments. I would expect a good plumber to do his job even if I purchased my own sink. .MC get upset with me and left with his two associates. This left me with a sink that had no drain connection and by the way they took the drain connection tubing from the old sink, I had to call another plumber to complete the job. Since the new plumber did not have the usable parts from the old sink I had an extra charge of $90 in new parts.This performance by MC Welch Plumbing was totally unprofessional and unacceptable. The company reserves no stars, but I gave it one star for Rich's good attitude and his positive efforts. read more

I called Mr. Welch early one morning when our water heater failed; by that evening, he and his assistant had installed a new one, taken the old one away, and made sure all of our water lines were clear. Since then he has replaced some faucets and tub parts for us. The service was fast, professional, clean, and very reasonably priced. If you need a plumber, call him. The other plumber was waaay better experience not only did they do what was requested, but also advised us how to secure the tub to prevent any cracking of the grout. This company put the tub in but did not secure to the studs which from what I understand is common practice. read more

Something was wrong with our sink and both sides kept filling up with disgusting, vomit colored water. We weren't sure what was wrong so we called up a plumber. At the beginning he gave us the price for what needed to be done and was finished with the job in less than a half hour. It turned out that our garbage disposal was chock full of egg shells (children are stupid). After, he told me that our disposal also had a leak and taught me how to replace the disposal and told me the exact kind of disposal that I needed to get. It turns out he didn't need to do this because he told me after explaining that if I couldn't figure it out than he could come back and do it for a price but he knew that my mother was low on cash and it would be considerably cheaper for me to do it myself. He didn't need to do this. He very easily could have told me that we needed a new disposal and then told me the price he charged for replacing it. Mike was respectful, helpful and easy to talk to. I would recommend him for any time vomit colored water appears anywhere in your home or business. read more

Prompt service, competitive prices, and extremely friendly staff! We have been considering getting a new water heater for a while now, and when our very old hot water heater started having issues at the end of the week, we figured it was time! I called M.C Welch based on the reviews I'd seen, and was soon speaking with Mike- he offered to come by and check out the old water heater and see what was going on as well as quote us on a new one. Long story short, they got the old water heater working safely to get us through the weekend (it took a lot of elbow grease but they got it working!), and offered a very reasonable price for the install of a new unit the following Monday. The staff was extremely polite, and showed me exactly how to operate and care for my new water heater. I'm impressed that they didn't leave until all faucets had been tested (both hot as well as cold just to make sure everything was in proper working order). This new hot water heater is amazing, we have the proper water pressure in our hot water lines now and the water comes out hot very quickly. Mike made the appointment quickly, showed up on time and when he figured out that the garbage disposal was still under a warranty - he was HONEST & let my boss know so that he could get the repair work done at no cost, then proceeded to have the warranty company contact us for repair!! How many plumbers (or any business owners) are honest to the point that they would lose out on a chunk of change so that a potential client could get the work done for free by someone else? Not many. Our toilet was running constantly and we were having a big group of people over-- it needed to be fixed efficiently and quickly. I had looked at lots of YouTube videos on fixing toilets and tried the simple stopgap things to see if they'd fix the toilet, but no go. I really didn't want to take the tank off to replace the entire valve assembly... I called Mr. Welch's company and he came out and immediately figured out what was wrong. Just a rubber seal needed replacing. What was really great was that while he worked, he showed me how to replace it, step by step so that if/when the other toilet started showing the same symptoms, I could fix it myself! It was like having a mini shop-class lesson, and I was really happy that I learned something new. Mr. Welch was speedy, polite, courteous and efficient. I would call him again in a heartbeat for any more plumbing needs.
