Well Pets has been fantastic with my doggies, Minnie and Jeter. Since moving from New Jersey, Jeter had an obstruction which was successfully treated then tore his ACL and had surgery. Both experiences although traumatic, were very pleasant and my Jeter is finally back to himself. The team at Well Pets is just wonderful, they are all patient, kind and are true animal lovers. Horrible experience! They do not care about the pet ONLY the money!!! I know it is a business and making money is good. But when you turn away a dog in pain at 10:30 at night because all you had on you running out the door was a check book in the car is wrong! They would not accept my payment and wouldn't help my dog in pain. I am at a loss of words but hope they suffer for their lack of compassion!!!! Stay away from this place. Worst service I've experienced in my life. My cat lasted 45 minutes under their care. The doctor called me to give me the bad news, and she tried to make me feel guilty because I did not paid the 150.00 dollars, (a charge separate from the 1600.00 dollars that they were charging me for the procedure), they charge to resuscitate the animal in case of a complication. What kind of doctor charges to resuscitate a patient if the procedure goes wrong, or gets complicated ? Extremely unethical. Never go to a place where your animals are treated like money, not like a family member, a living creature. After I went to pick up the cat, the doctor didn't talked to me, or explained what happened. They passed the bill and asked me to go outside to wait for my dead cat. Oh! And while I was waiting for the final bill in the waiting room, I heard the doctor saying "I forgot to charge her for the aspirin". Seriously, stay away from this place. UNETHICAL. So very thankful for Dr. Evans, Assistant Janyia and the attentive staff at Well Pets who were there for us on New Years day. Overnight, our beloved Roscoe had a seizure; he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor 2yrs prior and had been on meds to keep the seizures under control. Roscoe awoke this day in the aftermath of the seizure unable to take food, unable to stand and breathing that had become erratic. He was not rebounding hours later as he had in the past after the diazapam. Thankfully, the clinic opened at 2pm on the holiday and we were able to get him in as soon as the doors opened. Dr. Evans gently and thoroughly examined Roscoe showed us new outward physical conditions confirming that the recent seizure had caused extensive neuro damage. The sensitivity and communication by Dr. Evans and Assistant Janyia are what I would consider exemplary even by standards of medical care for humans. Even so, we were so heartbroken and stunned to be losing him so quickly after such a long battle. We were guided through the process of our options and were allowed to remain with him and hold him to say our goodbyes before giving him a peaceful departure. Dr. Evans was so amazing and delicate with our beloved family member. Janyia was sensitive in describing our options for handling our puppy boy and we chose cremation with the remains returned. We received Roscoe's remains 2 days later, inside a velvet bag contained in a lovely stained, carved wooden box that had cherry blossoms engraved over the entire top. A few days later, we received a card signed by the caring doctors and staff of Well Pets, sharing their heartfelt condolences...and on a piece of sturdy woven cardstock, Roscoe's inked paw print with Roscoe's name beneath inked in a beautiful font. I was moved beyond words. This was something my broken heart regretted not doing beforehand and while grieving in the days that followed - and such evidence that they share our loss on such a personal level to have considered such a thing. While our heart aches for our little puppy boy, to know that medically we were able to make an informed decision at the right time is extremely comforting, thanks to the doctors and staff at Well Pets and them being there when we needed them. read more

Took my sweet lil ole lady cat in Friday. Monday, Dawn called me to follow up. Now this kitty is about all I have from move to here, so her precious loyalty keeps my physically ill self going. Please avoid this office. I wouldn't recommend this place for labs rats. I now refer to this office as 'FareWell Pets.' I strongly recommend NOT bringing your pets to this vet office for two reasons. In short, I believe they are at fault for the loss of my dog who was only just 3 years old. I also believe they have grown cold and unconcerned with the well-being of animals and more concerned with getting your money for services for which they charge heavily. To elaborate, last week we took our dog, just around 3 years old, to this office because she was behaving strangely. We know our dogs well; she was always so wonderful, full of life and energy, would play with any stranger and when she cuddled she would lay her head right on my chest. When her behavior changed, we knew something was very wrong and we took her here right away as they were the closest vet office open and we had come here before. The vet that saw her dismissed her condition as if it were no big deal; no blood test, nothing. He said it was some kind of cold that was upsetting her stomach and told us that if she wasn't better in three days we could return. The following day her breathing quickened, her overall condition was worse and she could barely move so we took her to a different vet (the one to which we usually take our other dogs) who advised that she had acute renal failure. She advised us that this is most commonly seen when dogs ingest antifreeze, amongst other items, and at this point she had almost no chance of surviving treatment and if she did she would have a poor quality of life. The day after we came to Well Pets looking for help we had to put my best friend down. I honestly feel that the Well Pets vet is at fault for the loss of my dog. I feel that if he hadn't just brushed aside my concerns and followed though and did something she may still be with me today. ((I'd also like to advise anyone reading this that we have no antifreeze on our property. Looking online I have found that some toxic people in this world intentionally feed dogs things like antifreeze or thumb tacks and other harmful things inside of treats or toys and give them to dogs at parks or even in their own yards. I pray this was not the case with my dog but I advise everyone with a dog to be very careful of things like this because it does happen; and if you notice your dog behaving strangely please take them to a vet you trust for treatment.)) Secondly, I feel this office has grown significantly more money-oriented, less concerned with animals and their customers and overall more cold. When you walk in they hardly greet you with a hello, look you in the eye or even acknowledge your pet. The vet office I usually go to, and from now on will be returning to, greet you and your pet, more often than not remember you and your pets, give you every option available and actually care about your pets well-being. When we took my poor dog to our primary vet, NOT Well Pets, after it was already too late to help her they cared for her better than I could ever have asked for. They gave her medicine to numb the pain she was in as soon as they knew she was in pain, carried her in blankets to let me hold her, took every test they offered that we wanted to make sure there was nothing else we could do and after she passed they called to check on us at home and gave us flowers and cards when we came to pick up her remains. Please people do not take your pets to Well Pets. I am only now able to write this review. I have been traumatized knowing I made my sweet girl suffer for over 28 hours because of the negligence of the staff at this clinic. I took my 3 year old dog in there for what I told them I was worried was poison from what I had read on the internet. She was clearly in distress. I have the paperwork showing they entered that into their system. The first girl who checked her said her heart was racing and highly unusual. Dr, Seay said he wanted to take an xray and I said of course. A few minutes later he said all clear she didn't swallow anything and her heart rate was normal!!! NO it was not normal!!! That's why I took her to a Vet!!! This man who calls himself a vet gave her pills to take. So 15 minutes and $200 later, I leave with her still in extreme distress. I knew in my gut I shouldn't leave with her, but I trusted their diagnosis of get this...Gastroenteritis. When she was worse the next day, I decided to take her to another vet nearby. She had been poisoned with Antifreeze!!! LISTEN to me please...this is an excruciating PAINFUL death!!! They sent me home with an animal who was in pain yet their paperwork shows "No Pain.' They are incompetent! I have been checking with vets across the country. Let me say that blood work is the first step, not an X-Ray and when an X-Ray is negative then the next step is bloodwork!!! I still cry every day and I have to live with the fact I allowed her to suffer. The puppy that I loved so much. Then I find out from my neighbor they left Well Pets because of the poor treatment of her dog by the female vet here.. I do not throw around reviews, but if I can keep one animal from dying because of these people's incompetence then at least her death will have done some good. In the meantime, I have the burden to bear that I took her here in the first place. Even if it was too late to save her from the poison, a decent vet would have done blood work and at least allow us the decency to put her down and stop her suffering. I will never get over this trauma and I think this clinic should be shut down and this review is just the beginning. read more

This vet will not be honest with you. My wife and I found a dog in the area. He was an Akita mix who when we found him weighed a little over 80 pounds. He was so thin that you could see his ribs and literally could stick your finger between the bones on his spine. He was covered in fleas and had been for a long enough time that it has caused dermatitis. He was so dirty that when we bathed him the bath water turned an orange-brown. His genitals were massively red and swollen, likely has prostate cancer and was terminal, according to the vet (not this one) that we took him to. He had no tags on of any kind, no microchip, and was wearing a metal choke collar designed to stab metal prongs into his neck when he pulled on his leash. We thought surely this dog had been missing for days, maybe even a week or more. When we took him to Pawmetto Lifeline looking for his owner they said the dog had clearly been missing for days to over a week based on his condition. Eventually we found the owner. It turns out that he had only been missing for three hours when we picked him up from the middle of the road. We couldn't believe it at first, we thought this guy was lying to us when he said he lost his dog the same day we found him. But he wasn't, it was his dog. And he thought he was doing a great job taking care of this dog. The vet said that that was a healthy weight for him (none of the shelter workers or the vet we took him to thought so) and that he was kept in good condition. They let the owner believe he was doing a good job. The guy who's dog was flea ridden, starving, extremely dirty, had scabs on his legs, was wearing a horrific choke collar, had no tags (not even the legally required rabies tag), and the owner thought that the extremely swollen and inflamed penis and testicles that were dripping puss was nothing to worry about, even after another vet told us he likely had prostate cancer. They're dishonest and they don't care if you're not doing a good job taking care of your pet, they just want to suck up to pet owners to make them happy. Do not go here. They will smile and say everything is fine as your dog suffers and dies. They will not tell you how to take better care of your pet. read more

Took my dog there for breathing heavy I helped them put her on the x-ray table and seen they can't handle big dogs due to the fact that day only females were there after x-ray found out she swallowed some small bones and then they gave her shot to relax and she stayed overnite and they called me the next morning to tell me the bones moved out of her stomach and didn't have to have surgery so they wanted her to stay another night but wanted more money right then like I was going to cheat them so then the vet told me she had torn muscle in both knees and had a hard time walking which right then I knew they dropped her trying to x-ray her which is my opinion and I told them the dog was walking fine when I brought her in there so I picked her up the next day and she had a hard time walking so something happened and they would not admit so I called to talk to the owner and they said they would give her the message and never called me back and of course it cost me around 2000.00 for two days to watch her and medication and it seemed their major concern was getting as much money out of you by getting you to sign this paperwork before treatment and I would not have cared about the cost if the dog walked out of there the same way that I brought her in.Been to a lot of vets in my time and this is by far the worst I would'nt take a turtle in there and trust me people they will ram up the charges I had to go there because the vet I do know that is great and would not lie to you is that they are closed on sat.Even the male vet at well pets thought she was in there for her legs and I told him no it was the bones she swallowed but she passed the bones and feeling great walking is a little better but still say in my opinion they dropped the dog from the x-ray table and her legs did a split on the tile floor and tore a muscle and the boss will not return my call so warning to you people out there if they screw up they will not tell you and will still charge you a damn fortune, more of a money pit than care for your animal! read more
