After searching through providers for my insurance, I came across Southern Arizona Endodontics, and I'm so glad I did. Making the appointment was easy, even without having a referral. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day, lucky me. The front desk staff were sweet and moved me through after filling out paperwork. After being taken to the back and having X-rays done, I met my dentist, Dr. Funk. Dr. Funk let me know I hadn't chipped my tooth, instead, I cracked it and would need to either pull it or get a root canal. I opted for the root canal and he and his tech searched for a spot in his schedule. Dr. Funk offered to squeeze me in the same day for the root canal after not finding space in his upcoming schedule. Of course, I took it and Dr. Funk took care of me. Everything was explained to me, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. He even showed me before and after my X-rays of what was done. I loved my experience. I'm not one to shy away from the dentist and I would recommend Southern Arizona Endodontics to anyone unlucky enough to need a root canal done.

I took a book with me. I was there about 20-30 minutes when they took me in for some tests and was told I need a root canal. Dr. Pena said he could do it later that afternoon if I wanted to wait and I did. Later they took me back and he gave me shots to numb the area. It hurt so he gave me a shot in the tooth which totally numbed it and when he finished the pain was gone except for a mild ache if I tapped the tooth. I asked if this biopsy would be anything like a different biopsy I had in the past, he ignored me and asked if I had "diabetes or something". I never got answers and I can't imagine trusting someone like that with a procedue involving full anesthesia. Poor communication... After calling twice to make sure the insurance had gone through and the account was paid up, I was reassured I had no balance. Until I received a text notice months later about an overdue balance. I received no calls, no emails, nothing at all to indicate that I had a balance. My appointment was to determine why I was experiencing a rough surface on my upper right tooth. Dr. Purdy immediately determined one of my crowns needed to be replaced. Two days later I had the complete process completed in one appointment. Dr. Purdy and his clinical assistant were very conscientious in performing the dental procedure and built a rock-solid crown that needed no adjustments in the time immediately after the appointment. Dr. Purdy was serious about his work while still interjecting some humor since I am a person who while placing high value on the quality of my dental care still enjoys making any experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Dr. Purdy to new patients and I still highly recommend Dr. Icely as a valued dental care provider. I'm typically seen within a few minutes of arrival. I'm very happy with the service I've had there.
