I went to this location multiple times in 2023-2025. They opened in September 2023, which was the 2nd location in MD. This is about 15 miles from my home, which isn't too far. Then, Columbia location opened, which is closer at about 10 miles. The first location in MD was way up in Towson. I was up that way in March 2023 for a trivia tournament and thought to get an early lunch at Raising Cane's as I was excited to try at the time the only location in MD, but parking was a pain and line was too long. So, I ended up eating at the trivia tournament venue. Then, in September 2023, they opened this 2nd MD location here on a Friday. I went on its 2nd day that Saturday as coincidentally, I had a trivia tournament. It was a madhouse on route 3 in the left lane getting in here. I ended up parking on the Wendy's side as it was too hectic in there; you're not supposed to do that, and I never did that again, but that 1st weekend was hectic. Line was long, but they were going as quickly as they could. I was a bit nervous about my timing, but eventually, I got my food, ate a bit quicker than usual, and drove the 5 minutes to the trivia tournament. It was delicious. I love the chicken tenders, fries, & Texas toast here. I don't really like coleslaw, but I don't mind theirs. The baskets come with a drink, and I get half sweet/half unsweet tea every time, and it's freshly brewed. My girlfriend & I went to this location a couple of times mostly in 2024. Chicken baskets are always on point. In June 2024, we bumped into someone from trivia, which we three were going to tournament. He loved Raising Cane's probably even more than me. He said he lived very close to here and would come here sometimes multiple times a week. He also replaced fries (which is unhealthy) with more Texas toast (which is also unhealthy but maybe less so), and he loved the Texas toast more than fries. I wasn't even offered my cup so I could at least fill it up. Maybe they were going to fill it up and serve it to me when my food was ready. Since my order was not ready, I ended up finding myself a seat. Good thing I did too, it was another ten minutes before my food was ready. They were so slow in here preparing the food that a driver pulled up to pick up a delivery that they just left without the food. I feel bad for that person that ordered food. In fact, you can tell that they were more concerned with the people using the drive thru than they were with the people actually inside the building. I know that you need to be attentive all around, but ignoring one group of people over another doesn't accomplish this. When I did get my food, they automatically put my food in a to go bag, even though when I was ordering I said I was dining in. Nothing to worry about, but I did have to unpack the bag to eat. I've been hyping it up to literally everyone I know, including my boyfriend. After basically begging him to try it, he finally agreed yesterday. I promised him he wouldn't regret it and would love the food as much as I did. Boy, was I wrong. We arrived around 8:45 p.m. and placed our order at 8:50 p.m. --receipt timestamped, order #655. When we walked in, there were two people waiting for food (received food shortly after we arrived) and two gentlemen in front of us together placing an order. My boyfriend ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and also wanted a two-piece chicken, but was told they only had dark meat, which he doesn't eat. I ordered a three-piece fried chicken meal with plantains, rice and a horchata. I was a little put off that they only had dark meat, but whatever. I had hyped this place up so much that I was determined for him to try it. We decided to eat inside because we're a decent drive away and I wanted him to have the food fresh and hot. Then we walked over to the drink station. Disgusting--drink stains all over the counter, everything looked sticky and unclean, and there was even a nice little bug sitting on the counter to greet us :-) Photos attached. We have now been sitting there for 40 MINUTES waiting for "fast food." At that point, between the filthy restaurant, the wait, and the fact that we were starving, we were over it. We asked for a refund. They told us our food would be ready "soon." No. We've already been waiting 40 minutes. We no longer want the food. Then somehow it takes them SEVEN MORE MINUTES to return the cash my boyfriend paid with. I can only assume they were stalling to see if our food would magically appear. Spoiler alert: it did not. The customer service made it worse. The young gentleman working the register was talking, joking, and playing around with his coworker while trying to take our order. Anytime we asked what was happening with our food, all we got was: Him telling the kitchen "They're waiting on orders." Or: "Sorry, it's just busy." I'M SORRY, because "busy" was not in the room with us. There was basically no one there! And if you're working the front counter during a slow period, why is the drink station dirty? Why are tables covered in old plates? Why is there food on the floor? Why are the napkins and straws not stocked? If the kitchen is backed up, COMMUNICATE THAT. Tell customers upfront there's a 30-40+ minute wait. Check on delayed orders. Apologize. Do something besides repeatedly saying "they're waiting on orders" like that helps anything. Unfortunately, this isn't even my first ridiculous wait here. The last time I came through the drive-thru, I asked for a large side of beans. The employee didn't understand what I wanted, even after I explained it multiple times, and gave me a regular size anyway. I sent my sister inside afterward to purchase the large beans I originally wanted. She waited 20 minutes. FOR BEANS. BEANS. It's insanity. This location seriously struggles to get orders out within a reasonable amount of time, and after this experience, I'm done taking chances. So yeah...my Pollo Campero obsession was very much short-lived. I went from hyping this place up to everybody I know to being embarrassed that I dragged my boyfriend here and spent 40+ minutes telling him, "I swear the food is good!" while we sat in a dirty restaurant and never actually received any food. Understand that I'm writing this review after at least 10 visits between my husband and me. He loves the people and raves constantly about how good a simple cheeseburger is every time he orders. Tonight was no exception. We always save money through the app and we had a ton of nuggets ordered. There was no one in line so I assumed we would get something super fresh or cold and rubbery. Not at all!! They were perfect as if they planned for our visit. My spicy chicken had the perfect amount of extra mayo and pickles that I love. I haven't been inside but my husband says everything is clean, including the restrooms. The parking lot is well kept and the drive-thru is easily accessible. This will forever be our go to and the standard for every other McDonald's. I can only hope that corporate sees this and gives them every award possible! We love our McDonald's!!!
