There are some tough ratings for this McDonald's in Annapolis near the Westfield mall. I haven't eaten at this place in nearly 15+ years. I decided to drop in since I was already next door and very hungry. I went inside since the drive thru was a mile long, the ordering is super cool for those who haven't been to a McDonald's before. Since I was one of the only patrons in the place, I figured I would sit a table and they could bring it to me. The order for iced tea and one crispy chicken sandwich took more than 15 minutes. I surely would have been fine waiting in line like the "old days" when you ordered, they put it on a tray for me to take to a table. The people working here are very nice, doing everything they can, but there seemed to be only 3 or 4 for the entire store. One lady had to manage the front-end and deliver food to the tables. They don't get a high margin on each order, so a lot should not be expected, but from these ratings, it seems people have a higher expectation than they should read more

This was my first visit to this location on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. It is modern and clean. The tables have plastic cards on them that state that a given table was recently cleaned, which I never seen before at other McDonald's. Service is slow inside when waiting for my order. Drive through orders seemed to get higher priority. Not many people dined in. However, customers who came in for carryout were not wearing masks. As they waited, these customers did not social distantly stand 6 feet apart. Probably it's best to use the drive through at this location to avoid catching COVID. read more

I stopped by this location on my way home from work last night. While at the Drive-Thru window, a homeless person startled me by banging on my car window and asking for money. I refused, but he wouldn't leave. After several strong words, he finally moved on to the next car. This was disturbing and I didn't feel safe there at night. The managers have allowed this restaurant to turn into a homeless hangout, and there are often several homeless people inside and outside the restaurant throughout the day. Here's my advice: take your family to Chick-fil-A where it's still a family friendly atmosphere. read more

I'll start out, right up front, I do not like McDonalds and the calorie laden food they serve. I did grow up in the fast food generation and can sing the Big Mac song with the best of them. Something my daughter can't do... I stopped in to get a coffee as I drove myself home after a sleep study. Many friends have told me McDonalds coffee was really good. I ordered a large coffee, two creams, and three Equals. Coffee served. I depart the building and while walking into the parking lot to the car I take a sip of the coffee. I'm being leery as we've all heard the horror stories of how hot McDonalds coffee is. Well this cup was not hot and just as soon as I took a big sip I instantly spit the coffee out onto the parking lots back top. This was the worst, thin, watery, herbal drink I've ever had in my life. It tasted like 1/2 coffee, 1/2 herbal tea, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was no sugar in it like I asked for. Guess it will be another 3-4 years before I stop at a McDonalds again. read more

I am at this location to get my mom coffee. It was very busy so we went inside. We were waiting for almost 25 minutes before we were told the machine wasn't working to make her macchiato. The customer base while waiting was terrible -- staff was getting yelled at about well done English muffins and different sets of hotcakes. OMG, where to begin... this is my first ever review of a fast food chain. It could be a zero star... Figured a newly renovated property would have the latest and greatest. Well McDs, you struck out. I'm familiar with the kiosk system, ordered lunch and waited 12+ minutes for order. They said they didn't have lids for large beverages. I said I didn't need one but wanted a large Diet Coke, not a medium. They looked at me as if I was from outer space. Third attempt with another employee who asked if they could help me with anything and I said, yes I'd like a large Diet Coke, not a medium. They again said, they didn't have lids. I asked if they poured Diet Coke into lids or cups...? Just put my Diet Coke into a large cup and hand it to me. Holy hell! Best part was they gave me a medium Diet Coke in a large cup (80% full). Guess I was a spill liability... The bathrooms were disgusting as well... and the new restaurant layout is clunky with the four kiosks squeezed together in a tight walkway. It's McDonald's so the service is never going to be great but I felt compelled to write a review for this location because it was so bad. The girl that gave me my food was talking to her coworker the whole time and didn't even make eye contact with me - just shoved the bag in my face. I sat there and waited 5 minutes for my drink and she finally looked at me and said "what do you want". She hands me my drink which is literally half empty and forgot my straw also. Where do I start, after going in the drive-through and reading that a medium chocolate shake cost $2.49 the nice young lady quoted me $2.59 plus tax. Explained to her that the sign stated $2.49, she told me to drive up to the window. Got up to the drive through and she said $2.65 then proceeded to short change me back to the original $2.75 that she had quoted me in the past. This is not the first time I have had problems with this McDonald's and price changing. They're outside menu is always a different price than the price they quote so be careful they don't seem to care that they are charging different prices than advertised. On top of that I did an experiment where I ate at this McDonald's for five days in a row having the exact same breakfast and drink each morning. After the fifth day I had three different prices that I was charged for the same meal. I tried to contact management but they we always too busy. So from now on I have pledge that I will do what I can to make sure no one wastes time or money eating the inferior food that these professionals seem to be trying to sell. They do not care about you, they do not care about the food, all they care about is the paycheck. Managers are the worst I've ever met and most of them have to work the drive-through window due to the employees not showing up for the great job the McDonald's offers. Newly remodeled. Ugh! No refill beverage station. Refill at counter gets you a new cup, lid & straw. No green initiative here. Orders primarily taken at kiosk but items on kiosk might not be available at this location. Bathroom was not clean at all. Hopefully kiosk screen get cleaned regularly. Seating for families are limited. Mostly tables for 4. One large seating area has cushions attached to floor so small children can't be pulled closer to table. We visited this weekend after the grand reopening last week. We were ushered to the ordering kiosks by the "kiosk girl" as she was called and were told to order there. When we tried to substitute an item, we asked how to do that and she said we couldn't do that at the kiosk. She said "just order it normally then tell the counter when they bring you your food." Not happening - it's fast food, that makes no sense. We went to the counter to order and were met by questions on why we were there and not at a kiosk. The iPads weren't working right on the touchscreen but we finally ordered. Food was delivered to the table - there are NO stations to get straws, napkins, ketchup, water, or a soda dispenser. All of those are now behind a wall after the remodel and you have to wait in line to get any of those items (craziness). We never received our drinks, we asked twice, and I finally had to stand in line and wait at the counter for them while my food got cold. Before we left, I wanted to refill my soda - since there's no soda machine, I had to wait in line. I told her I needed a refill. She said for every refill, you are to throw your cup away and they give you a new plastic cup with the drink. What a waste! Also, what about customers who want to mix sodas together or have water with a splash of sprite? The remodel seems to have made being a customer a lot of work to order, to get items, to get condiments or refills. Their designer should be fired and perhaps a customer survey should've been used to provide input on this layout because the current one isn't working and is extremely wasteful. So when reviewing a fast food joint, I take into consideration the "I'm not making crap for salary" and non-motivation factor for employees. This particular Mickey D's can be a little rough around the edges some days. But they do try their best and I have never personally had any major issues with them during my many visits. They do have Redbox which is a plus for me. The drive-thru can be a nightmare here that's for sure. It's funny, I read the previous reviews and all three of them give this place 1 star. If you come here expecting perfection, you will be sorely disappointed. If you come expecting "fast" food and decent service, then you probably won't pitch a bitch. Here's a tip: check your food order BEFORE you leave, it's as much the obligation of the customer as it is the employee. Just because they serve "happy meals" here doesn't mean their employees are "happy." Choose any other McDonald's. Food obviously tastes the same, unless they somehow short you of something, but the service is unimaginably poor. In person as well as over the phone. I called in and asked them a few questions, they rudely replied that they can't answer any of my questions as they are busy at the moment, and still I thanked them, and they immediately hung up. Customer service sucks. The male overnight manager is abrupt and rude. If he hates his job so much, he should find a new one. There are a few young people who work there who are polite but the rest obciously don't want to be there. When this restaurant makes an error, instead of fixing it right away, there is a long drawn out process and many times an argument before they will correct their mistake. Leaving 5 stars because I want to let upper management know what a wonderful manager Rupert is. I came in on July 4th when this branch was severely understaffed and Rupert was singlehandedly doing everything from the register to organizing, handling and dropping off all orders, even the drive thru ones, making french fries, refilling ice bins, and still having the biggest smile on his face and the most apologetic manner for the slight delay in orders. I have to agree with the other yelp user who didn't write off this McDonalds. The drive through might be rough, but if you go inside they are courteous and fairly friendly. I got exactly what I wanted, for the price I wanted. It's a fast food restaurant, so I don't expect perfection. Honestly, they do the service that I pay them for. And if it's cheep service, so be it. My only complaint is that when eating inside they left that constant beeping noise in the back, which was a little frustrating. But if that's all I'm complaining about, it's a good day. If you go to McDonalds for cheep food that you can count on, this is a classic one that's actually clean on the inside. If you're looking for gourmet food, keep looking. read more

This brand new building did not improve the quality of food or service at this location. Quarter Pounder was raw inside and the Diet Coke, typically delicious from McDonald's, was terrible. From our experience, my kids learned the meaning of the expression , "lipstick on a pig." read more
