I just witnessed a situation in which this guy jumped out of his vehicle and ran to put a boot on the car of a 17 year old kid who made the unforgivable mistake of parking 5 feet across the curb from the next door ChicfilA. He then charged this poor kid $100 to remove the boot. the kid's car was in this space about 3 minutes FU Wendys for greenlighting this grift. Dirty dining room, slow service, and cold food. Will not be returning and will use P Terry's down the street from now on. Upon entering there were french fries and unopened ketchup packets strewn across the entryway. Packets just waiting to explode and cause a slip and fall to anyone not paying attention. There was also a puddle of unknown liquid in front of the very empty condiments counter with no wet floor sign in sight. There were wet floor signs elsewhere just not anywhere near an actual wet floor. Several seating surfaces are worn down through the vinyl covering. Unsanitary and unappetizing to see those ugly bench seats the moment you enter the dining room. A clear sign of the other problems lurking within this place. Staff was friendly and polite so I'll give 2 starts. Staff scooped my fries and placed them in the brown bag a good 3 minutes before the burger was ready. This is poor form as it allows the fries to cool down before the order is handed to the customer. My burger was NOT hot and fresh and was Just barely warm. The fries at the top of the fry container were basically cold but fries in the bottom of the container were acceptable temperature. The ketchup dispenser was not refilled so I had to squeeze over a dozen small packets to enjoy with my huge order of fries. Not fun and just more time wasted while my fries get even colder. If I wanted ketchup packets I'd have used the drive through. Coca cola digital soda machine was OUT of most flavors. Pointless to even buy a drink when there are so few selections available. Noticed a woman in the drive through had to park and wait. After being brought her food in her parked car she came in to complain that her entire order was cold. She was still waiting for a hot order when I had completed my meal. Slow service here. Paper towel dispenser in men's restroom was empty with a roll of paper towels placed on top of it. Would've appreciated a touchless paper towel dispenser in working order. Easily the worst Wendy's experience I have had in 30 years of visiting various Austin locations. I stopped by today for a number one cheeseburger the lady spoke and broken English with a Spanish accent. The speaker wasn't working very well either I asked for mayo after going through that exercise several times my order was placed. There was only one car in front of me and I heard her telling him they were out of something but I couldn't tell what it was. This is at 11 o'clock in the morning by the way. When I get up to the window, she hands me my drink. It looked extremely dark like they hadn't really mixed it properly then I'm thinking to myself. Wow this doesn't have very much ice in it so I try to hand it back to her and say could you put some more ice in this and she says oh I'm sorry we don't have any ice today. I just looked at her thinking you could've told me that when I ordered and yes, I would've gone somewhere else which they absolutely knew that but didn't care and of course, my cheeseburger had ketchup instead of mayo. I will say the fries were good upon reading other reviews it sickens me a bit to think that I went there. The sad thing is I used to live in the area 30 years ago and I remember when this was an excellent Wendy's the trajectory has been downhill for sometime. She kept saying is that all? Without letting us complete the order. Twice I told her we have a large order. She kept repeating the same thing. She had to get help twice entering something as simple as adding the correct drink to the combo. When we asked for a chicken nugget kids meal she said ok what else. I tried to tell her apples and milk but she kept asking what kind of dipping sauce like she could not understand us. We ordered combos and drinks for 5 people and it took her 20 minutes to get it correct. I kept trying to say to myself this is fast food, but no! I go to Wendy's at other locations and they are friendly, quick and competent! There is no excise for service this terrible. There is only one other person in the dining room but the place is dirty. Just left the rudest staff I've ever encountered in my 7 years of coming here. The guy at the drive through tried to rush me through my order and got an attitude from the start. I get home and my order is missing a large fry, the other fries are cold and missing half of what fills it. My chicken wrap smelled like rotten chicken and was wrapped like they threw the insides in the foil with a tortilla on top! One straw in the bag for 3 large drinks! I really like all the drink options from the Freestyle soda machine, including Mello Yello which is hard to find. I ordered using their app, which was really easy. Other than four years of eating at the Wendy's in UT's West Mall or in Jester, or the rare times coworkers took me to Wendy's near Highland Mall, I never loved Wendy's until this one. My friend mentioned she likes their chili so I went on a cold day. There was Dido playing softly in the background, CNBC on the TV above the fireplace, and grass on frosted panels around the dining area--just the most heavenly fast-food experience you can imagine. Their chili was pretty good and until this day, I still stop in for chili on cold days. They also have an equivalent to McDonald's "Dollar Menu & More" with pretty compelling deals. Their dining room is only open until 10 pm. This Wendy's is set in the chaotic HEB parking lot but has its own little curbed off parking area. Be careful driving onto the Mopac frontage road since there are a lot of fast-moving cars who've just exited the freeway wanting to turn right onto Parmer. read more

The new remodel is pretty swanky. It's more like the lobby of a medium-fancy hotel than what you'd think of as a Wendy's. There's even some sort of gas fireplace, which will be really bizarre when it's super hot for half the year. But the food here doesn't wow me. I thought I used to like Wendy's. Maybe as a boy's palate develops (Oh you know, Marge, it's a time in a young boy's life when ... uh ...) The WiFi does work but it's very slow and requires login antics. (Provided by Boingo like at the Airport ... why attach your name to such sucky WiFi?) At least they have those Coke machines with like 70 different flavors of Fanta. Before this remodel the 1985-era restaurant made you ask the counter people to refill your Fanta. I don't understand complaints about the parking. It's right next to a huge parking lot for HEB which is often mostly full, but never totally. The real tricky part is getting on Mopac southbound (easier to go north to Scofield Ridge and use the U-Turn lane) or Parmer Lane westbound or almost anywhere at all from there during heavy traffic. I have solved it but I will keep that secret to myself (you drive around the back of the whole shopping mall starting at Baskin Robbins). read more

After shunning this chain for many years, my wife and I had dinner last night at the Wendy's at 1910 West Braker Lane in Austin, Texas. Like so many fast-food restaurants, this one ignored us walk-ins at first while giving priority to the drive-through window. Our clerk was a mumbler; we had to ask him to repeat half of everything he said. He also "There ya go'ed" us when we paid ($24 for two single burgers with fries and frosties), instead of thanking us for our business. Most of the tables had not been wiped, and the windows were dirty. We were the only eat-in customers in the store, and yet the "help" summoned us to get up and fetch our order instead of bringing it out to us. We found the burgers sloppily made, lukewarm and far less flavorful than their McDonald's and Burger King counterparts. The fries, too, were nearly room-temperature -- and apparently cooked in rancid oil. (We tried one on our rat terrier when we got home. Although famously omnivorous, he turned up his nose.)
