Southwest Avocado Salad

Where's the avocado? Maybe hidden in the wilted and browning lettuce parts!? Chicken was okay, not much bacon, the lettuce taste was covetable with the dressing. Not coming back to this one and will share the experience with fellow adult class members in town for a week!

Here's where we discarded the cold fries we got this afternoon. They were probably hot a couple hours ago. Over $7 for 2 orders. No wonder this place gets such crappy reviews.

Walking into the store, the first 2 things you notice is that it is busy!, and the heavenly smell of fresh baked sourdough. The staff is extremely nice and patient, willing to answer questions if you have any. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating, even though there is a lot of tables it is definitely not enough during lunch time. I ordered a 6 inch frensh dip and their bowl of clam chowder, all to go. Driving home with my to go order was torture! My entire car smelled like bread that just came out of the oven!!! The French dip was delicious! The shop provides a giant cup of Au Jus with the sandwhich, there is no way you are going to use it all! The sandwhich was well belanced with the meat and cheese, and the flavors were a great combination. The sourdough bread was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely recommend checking out this sandwhich. The bowl of clam chowder is the reason I know I will be consistently coming back to this shop. As a clam chowder snob, I am obsessed! The portions of ingredients were great, not too many of one ingredient. The soup was creamy but not thick like glue, great consistency! The cut sizes for the potato and clams were great and you could easily see the clams in the soup. It was phenomenal!!! I beyond recommend checking out Sourdough & Co.

The kids meal included milk, lemonade, juice or a soft drink. The meal would have normally costs $6.99. The adult meal (3 finger combo is $10.39 and if you forgo the drink it's $0.80 less. When comparing the two meals, for $4.60 you're only getting one more chicken piece and a piece of toast. The fries amount looked the same in both the 3 piece finger and kids meal. My kiddos chicken pieces even looked larger, so the difference isn't huge. The chicken flavor was good but the Bare Chicken or Kirkland chicken at Costco is just as good if not very similar taste. I've noticed that when you go into the joint, your food looks more like the advertisement vs going thru the drive thru. My meal had a nice amount of fries, the fingers weren't nuggets this time, and my drink had just enough ice in it. Why couldn't meals be like this allllll of the time?! Our only complaint is that, the toast is soggy and could be toasted longer to pervent soggy ... it's been like this for a while now at this location. Great job guys! When I was living in Houston, I went to Jollibee several times. How was I convinced. The legendary…read moreAnthony Bourdain, who had a disdain for chain restaurants, said Jollibee was the exception. This Filipino fried chicken fast food joint has definitely earned my affection too. I visited their only location in the Phoenix metropolitan area for dinner on a weekday. Located in Chandler, parking won't be tough in the large complimentary lot surrounding the restaurant. Ambiance (3.5/5): I mean it's a fast food joint so you don't really go there for ambiance. It's similar in this way to other fast food restaurants we've all been to. When it comes to a fast casual restaurant, I mostly care about cleanliness. This is done at a high level there. I snagged a booth that was a bit dirty. A worker cleaned off my table without me asking soon after I started hovering around the table. Well done. Service (4.5/5): You can either place your order at the counter if you're paying cash or use your card at one of the self-service kiosks. I used the latter option. What's nice about it is that it's easy to customize your order. The kiosk was easy to use and I got my food within a reasonable amount of time (even with the restaurant close to capacity while we were there). Drinks (4/5): At fast food joints, you're expecting your typical soft drinks. Jollibee has that, but they also offer more. Which is a nice touch. I had a pineapple refresher. Pineapple is my favorite fruit so I couldn't say no. While a bit pricey, it was good. Food (4.5/5): Now, for the good stuff. Jollibee is known for a couple of things. First and foremost, their fried chicken. I've had my fair share and the chicken here is quality. When you think of fried chicken, you want a flavorful crispy exterior with a juicy interior. Mission accomplished. The crispiness is at a high level. We shared a six piece chicken joy bucket so you get all the different parts e.g. drumstick, breast, etc. and they all delivered. Another thing Jollibee is know for is their spaghetti. Yep, you read that right. Spaghet' at a fast food restaurant. And this isn't your mom's spaghetti. Instead of marinara sauce, as is popular in The Philippines, they use banana ketchup. Throw in some cheese and some sausage and there's your side dish. It's going to shock you at first as it's sweeter than what you're used to but it's pretty good. A better side than rice (even the adobo rice) or fries in my opinion. O and I forgot to mention, you're given gravy with your fried chicken. Dunk that thing in there. It makes it even better. You're probably already full by reading this but finish things off with a peach mango pie. They look like McDonald's apple pies but they are significantly better. Trust me. While the menu has a lot more than what I just covered, these are the dishes Jollibee is known for. It's a good starting point, especially if it's your first time. Pretty much anything Anthony Bourdain said was accurate. His thoughts on Jollibee included.

Love their crispy, juicy chicken. It's truly the only thing we typically get because we are not fans of the spaghetti, their slaw isn't to our liking and we don't do gravy, although it does come with the chicken. Used the drive thru this time around and we had to wait for a few minutes while the chicken finished cooking; asked us to pull up front while we waited. Good fried chicken!

We've visited multiple times over the last year and a half, and the quality is hit-or-miss at best. On several occasions, the North Atlantic Cod has been soggy and undercooked. We recently tried the Walleye, which was greasy and tasted far from fresh. Even the ButterBurgers have been disappointing lately--frequently served burnt with beef patties that peel apart in odd layers. This is the only location where we've encountered these issues, which is a shame since it's our local spot. I really hope they can get their kitchen standards back to the Culver's level I know and love.

Hubby got the beef sausage with the two hands coating and a milk tea, and I got the plant based sausage American style. For the beef sausage Two Hands corn dog, the corn meal was delicious and almost tasted like cornbread. The exterior was crispy and had a great crunch, almost like the breading of fried chicken, and the seasoning was excellent. The beef sausage was absolutely delicious and tasted of a good quality frank. Finally, the ranch cream sauce was very well- seasoned and creamy, not something that would often be considered to pair well with a corn dog. He said this may have ruined corn dogs going forward, as everything else will be a disappointment. The plant based sausage was also delicious and was not spicy as I would have expected since most vegan sausages are spicy. The coating was classic corn dog and nice and crisp on outside and moist and soft in the center. The Boba milk tea was sweeter than he was used to, and the Boba was smaller in diameter and firmer than he'd been used to, as well. In any case, it was really delicious and satisfying.

The kofta was great as well but would definitely come back more for their shawarmas but it's definitely the best bang for your buck I also got some baba ganoush on the side to dip my fries in but unfortunately, I thought the baba ganoush was too lemony/there was too much sumac added so it wasn't as enjoyable.
