Great food and great service. We had dinner here last Friday night and were the only ones there when we arrived. After we arrived, it got to be pretty busy. We all ordered small size sandwiches and they were a perfect size. The steak was flavorful, well cooked, and they did not skimp on the portions. The casual fastaurant does not disappoint. I don't get out to this side too often, since I was in the vicinity, I had to treat myself. If I'm ever craving some cheesesteaks then I would come to Forefathers. Plenty of parking and usually not too busy. It was clean from what I saw. The menu was simple and the staff was friendly. There's different toppings to choose from but I always order steak, onions, and mushrooms. Their regular size was more than enough but if you're starving then their large will make you pretty full. Their fries were good and same with their sweet potato fries. They had a refrigerator in the back where the drink machine was to get sauce or peppers. Now for the food, I have always ordered a regular cheesesteak, which is a very respectable size, that is to say, I do not leave hungry. I ordered mine with jalapeños on it (Pro tip: Only order with jalapeños on it if you love spicy food like me, can be a bit overbearing for softer palates. Can also just get them on the side from their mini fridge). The fries are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, (another pro tip, get yourself a few of their fry sauces from their mini fridge, goes great with the cheesesteak too!) I've ordered from here before through DoorDash and the food looked way better than what I got in person today. Came in for lunch thinking it'd hit the same... it didn't. The steak had a weird texture, the flavor was off, and the bread was soft in a way that made the sandwich soggy instead of fresh. It's like all the seasoning and care stayed with the delivery orders, because whatever I got today just wasn't it. I want to start this by saying I am not the biggest fan of Philly cheese steaks, but was willing to try. I ordered for pick up from their website. It was very easy to use and clearly broke down my order to check before paying. When I arrived, the staff was friendly and greeted me. It was about 12.45pm and there were not too many people inside. I was directed by the cashier to pick up my order at the end of the counter. I had ordered about an hour earlier than my pick-up time, and it seemed like they had just made it. I ordered the regular sized Philly cheese with steak and then added provolone, mushrooms, green peppers, grilled onion, and a drizzle of cheese whiz. I am not sure exactly what the cheese whiz was, but my friend recommended it. The taste was overall pretty good! It was hot when I picked it up, and the ingredients seemed fresh. I understand that prices for everything have gone up, but I still felt hungry after eating the regular sized sandwich. I wish it was a little larger for the $13 price. I was debating between the mini and regular sizes when ordering. The mini size would definitely be for a snack to hold you over between meals. I've been craving a cheesesteak sandwich for a while and Forefathers is right down the road from my work. Perfect. My co-worker loves this place, so I thought I'd give it a shot. After checking out, the website stated that I could pick up my order at 12pm. I arrived 5 minutes early and they were frying up some fresh fries for my order while I filled my drink. The place was clean and moderately busy for lunchtime rush. I was out the door with my order at 12PM on the dot. Nice! I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the cheesesteak. I ordered it with Jalapeno Cilantro Ranch. I knew they added it because it completely saturated the paper they wrapped the cheesesteak in. Once I removed the paper, it didn't look like any of that Jalapeno Cilantro Ranch made it into the cheesesteak at all. I certainly didn't taste it. Oh well... The bread was very soggy and not much fun to hold and eat. The cheesesteak was hot and tasted decent in spite of not having any of the sauce in it. Now, for the fries... This is totally a personal preference, but if you are like me and hate battered fries with a passion, you'll want to skip the fries at Forefathers. More often than not, if a place has, what I consider to be bad fries, I'll more than likely not return unless the main items they sell are stellar and worth purchasing solo. Really really like the food here. But I usually always get all sauces on the side. And so I got my cheese wiz on the side when I ordered my sandwich. Got home and realized they left it out. When I reached out about it. They told me that the cheese wiz was complimentary so they just thanked me for my feedback. I was super disappointed since I've referred this place to so many people and like I said I do like the food. But not even a discount on my next meal was offered. Nothing to try to resolve it. It's ok. Not great, not bad. Just meh. The sandwiches are very expensive for what you get. The amount of ingredients are on the low side as well. For two people we spent close to $50 for lunch. One regular and one large. Two fries and two drinks. $28 for the steaks, $8 for the fries and $7 for the drinks. Add tax and if you choose to tip because it asks. You really have to love average food. The fries are the breaded kind that I'm not to fond of. You're much better off making your own which is pretty easy with a cast iron pan and the pre sliced and frozen ribeye they sell at Safeway. read more

Let's start with the bread: soft, light (very) crust, dense enough to soak the juices but not fall apart. The meat was extremely flavorful. What kept it from 5 stars: the cheesesteak was a little light on cheese, I like white american, they have several options and the cherry peppers while delicious, were a little sparse, the upside is they have a cooler off to the side with extra cups of peppers, nice touch. They serve shoestring fried potatoes, not fresh-cut which is a thing for me. Fresh-cut fries are just so much better. Staff was friendly, and seemed attentive. Other than that, this is a cheesesteak worth the travel (wasn't that far from me) and I would most definitely order again...and again, and again and again. read more

I remember I was telling my wife that there were some kind of smell from either the chicken or the vegetables, I would not order it next time. I've never seen an order be butchered so terribly in my life. We ordered 2 sandwiches, one with mozzarella and fry sauce, and another with ranch, jalapenos and peppers. Somehow, we ended up with one sandwich that had ranch, mushrooms and jalapenos, and another that had fry sauce, jalapenos and mushrooms. We have never had a problem with them until now. I can't comprehend how an order can be messed up so terribly. One of the sandwiches was for someone who is allergic to jalapenos, so they are lucky she did not take a bite, or they would have a lawsuit.
