There's one lady who has her stuff together that works here. Not sure her name but she's older and nice as can be. If she's working the drive-thru you'll have a good time. The rest of the staff is pathetic. It's been twice now (including yesterday) where I've pulled up and there's been cars in front of me who just ordered and the mid-20s persons tells me they're 'unable to take any more orders'. Why? Is the POS system down? Credit card reader? Out of food? Why are the 3 cars in front of me able to order but I can't? My only guess is they didn't want to deal with 4 orders at once, which is laughable. Promote the good drive-thru lady and clean out the rest of the staff. This location has been renovated fairly recently. It is a nice improvement and gives customers a better experience. There are high top tables, counter seating, and only a few half-booths. There are also TVs in the corners now. I stopped in for a quick lunch today and was pleasantly surprised with the lobby. Unfortunately, the service is still pretty slow. There were plenty of friendly staff who greeted me, but bottom line, it took about 10 minutes to get a standard combo from the menu. Other customers ordered different menu items and had to wait equally as long. There is one of those fancy Coke machines available now, although I stuck with my sweet tea! Despite the wait, my chicken sandwich and fries were still good. There is plenty of parking but traffic on Folly Road can be frustrating to get to this location. The store downtown closed, so some of those employees were placed here. Good job to Wendy's management for saving as many jobs as possible. read more

This Wendy's on Folly Road on James Island is one of my favorite Wendy's in the Charleston area and their fries, baked potatoes, and frostys make it worth the visit alone. I usually come up with a large order every time I come through here that is frequently over twenty items and they manage to get it right every time with everything coming out delicious and warm. The staff here is very friendly and will go out of their way to make sure that you have everything that you need. read more

Dear Diary, I normally wouldn't write to you right now, but I have an extra hour sitting in this drive through. Remember when places cared about their drive through times? Remember when customer service was a thing? No If Wendy's knew this restaurant was theirs, they would probably put them up for adoption. Their only saving Grace is that most of the time the food is actually hot and pretty in line with what you expect from the fast food giant. Ironic that I'm saying, food only goes so far at a place it should be a major deciding factor... The primary problem is this location has the WORST customer service which is also reflected in their 30+ minute drive through times. Recently went to this Wendy's and went inside to try and order (no sign on the door saying mobile orders only) gentleman inside says after me standing there for a minute "mobile orders only, we're short staffed" so I wait in drive thru which only had 6 cars for 30+ minutes once I got to window and waited 6 minutes for my order , the lady also went out and smoked a cigarette while waiting on my order came in and didn't wash her hands and went straight to grabbing our bag, handing it to us then taking it back in the window after it was in the truck which is not sanitary at all. Then she grabbed my burger and opened it with bare hands to check it to make sure it was the right one. Food was garbage , fries were not hot, very soggy. Worst experience at Wendy's ever. read more

After today, I'm very grossed out. When I go here, I usually go drive-thu. However this time, we decided to eat in since it was pretty empty. After placing our order, we tried to find a place to sit, but noticed that every table was dirty. Either the tables weren't wiped up, or the tables had dried up dirty water marks on them. So I picked a table and wiped it down myself. While sitting and waiting for the food, my husband noticed a pack of knats or fruit flies hovering over a nearby table. Then I looked around some more and noticed that there were several swarms of these insects throughout the restaurant. No wonder no one was in the restaurant eating. I went to this Wendy's on June the 17th, 2021 around 1:30. All I wanted was to get my mom a frosty. There was a big line around the building so, I went inside. There was a line in there too but, I waited. This is what happened: The customer at the front of the line ordered his food and wanted to pay with cash. The very rude cashier who took his order said very rudely, she didn't have any change.......he kept saying all he had was cash and she basically said, well too bad. I can't give you any money back. The second customer, very politely ordered a baked potato. She described in a very sweet voice that she wanted butter on the side and cheese and when she was finished describing what she wanted the rude cashier said we don't have any baked potatoes. We ran out. I went up to the counter and asked if they had frosty's and was told that the frosty machine was broken. There were people working there that wore their pants down low to show their underwear. I don't want to see underwear when I go in to get food at a restaurant. There are people who work there who use one car to block three parking spaces. My daughter went there a month ago and waited in the car line for over an hour and when she got up to the window they told her they were closed. It was in the middle of the day! I am not sure what is going on there, but, someone in charge needs to fix this restaurant. If you have no food or change then maybe you should shut your doors.....This place needs some serious overhauling of the entire staff, from manager on down. Waited in line for 20+ minutes, and when we got to the window they charged us for the wrong order and had to refund us. Then we paid, waited another five minutes for our food, and then realized that they forgot to ring up the second salad we ordered, so we re-ordered that at the window and received it, and when we left found out they didn't give us a single straw for our four drinks, a single sauce, one of the salads had the complete wrong dressing, and that fourth drink that was supposed to get a straw? Yes this is fast food, yes it's just Wendy's... But I am giving 4 stars when I normally would not even leave a review because of the great service from Shonda. She was so personable and sweet to my son. Instead of trying to up sell my order, she made a cost effective suggestion. We got our food quickly, Shonda came out to the dining area to make sure everything was good, and invited us back for her next shift. Wendy's needs to give this lady a promotion! read more

I like Wendy's. I don't care who knows it. This location is always clean, and the staff is always friendly. It'll actually surprise you if you ever decide to walk in and have your lunch inside. They've often brought my order to my table and offered to refill my drink for me.
