This is one of my favorite locations but they lost ground and a lot of points with me because NO in there wears gloves at. They are from the register handling money to dropping fries to wherever they are needed I haven't eaten from Wendy's since Covid hit me reason is that Wendy my favorite fast food place would comply with the way they get their TOMATOES I happen to go there recently and we are in a pandemic even though people think we are not they are not wearing a mask especially the front end but NO GLOVES handling the food is unacceptable these recent need to get with it ESPECIALLY FAST FOODS. So I had a regular chicken nugget meal with a jr frosty, when I went to go pay they still tried to charge me for the frosty so I showed them a keychain that they themselves have given me, they still ended up charging me and making me wait and they all gave me dirty looks as they gave me my food and as I left, I ordered a sprite and they gave me water, don't go there if you want overpaid food and having your order wrong. So I walked inside two days ago having a terrible day, had my wife, sister and nephew in tow. It was raining and we were all in a bad mood. I am so sorry I cannot remember this young man's name, he was working the register and said he was a manger: his positive and happy and patient demeanor changed our day. We walked out smiling; with hardly any reason to. We were moody and indecisive and he met us with a smile and some kind words. HE deserves every kindness we can all give. Conveniently located right off the highway. Easy on and off access. Perfect for when you're traveling on I-95 down to NY and really hungry, but refuse to step foot in the service areas because the only option is a McD's. I had a long day at work, 15 hour day. I stopped at the Frontage Rd, East Haven for a couple burgers. Frank was the order taker at the drive through. He couldn't have had a nicer and more helpful personality. I ordered burgers and fires separately and he took the time to combine them in a combo and saved me a few bucks. Sadly have to give Wendy's a 3 star because I rarely review the food as much as I review the service for the simple reason that I'm not so arrogant to feel entitled to professionally judging food which is quite possibly the most annoying thing any inexperienced person can do to an established place of business. That being said if you forget the honey mustard you really kill my nugget vibe and u best know I'm ain't driving back unless I'm guaranteed a freebie on top of a few extra sauces. Horrible experience from the moment I ordered. I've never seen an entire staff, well 3 people if you call that a staff, all move at a ridiculously slow pace with a huge long in drive through and people waiting 20-30 mins for inside for their order. The manager was the worst one! Just nonchalantly acting like he was doing something with the look of " I don't wanna be here" all over his face. Oh and he gave me the worst attitude when I asked a question about an order that was just plopped on the counter with no words. I went to Wendy's of East Haven to pick up a quick sandwich and ended up standing in line for 20 minutes. I ordered a crispy chicken Caesar wrap, monterey ranch chicken sandwich and a small fry. Why did the gentleman behind be get his order first? I am confused. As I was driving home, I found that the chicken sandwich was wrong. Come on guys, it is really not that hard to get an order right. The staff was not moving that fast so what is the problem?
