Two employees chatted it up at 7pm instead of working considering the line is wrapped in a circle!!!
Jamie A.

Google says they are open and other sites..definitely not open for indoor eating..wish these facilities that may be short staffed would be able to state that online! Very frustrating! Employees nonchalantly standing around smoking while the line is wrapped around the building!! Still in line 19 minutes later!!

Ghost pepper fries are THE BOMMMB!

Nothing special. Clean and fast. I've eaten at this location several dozen times over the years, and no complaints.

The staff was super friendly and were eager to help us, especially since it wasn't very busy. We shared the stuffed onion rings and the mozzarella cheese sticks. Both were unique and very good. The onion ring "hole" was filled with spicy cheese sauce and the cheese sticks were lighter and fluffy in a way.The food was all good, I had a chef special of 3 chicken legs with macaroni and cheese (the cheesiest I have ever had). My wife had the smoked turkey Reuben Wrap - it was fat, good and juicy! She loved it, but the french fries were just too salty to eat. Our friends agreed they were salty, but took them all home in a to go box anyway. The beer selection seemed good, I had the Scottish ale which was real smooth but a little heavy for me at 8.4%. I also had the Downtown cocoa brown which was creamy good. Can't wait to come back for some more!

This burger joint is a neat little place. It is part of a small chain of restaurants.. This is the…read moreonly restaurant in the chain that does not have a dining area mainly due to it being in an old Rally's resturant. They only offer walk-up or drive through service and they have a a couple of picnic tables with pop-up shelters over them if you want to avoid eating in your vehicle and eat there. You will find some outdoor furniture in the front of the store that you could probably also eat at, but there is no table there to sit your food though. They serve salads, chicken , fish, hotdogs, and of course burgers. They have an exotic line up of burgers to choose from. The woman working the window was very friendly and helpful. I ordered Mama T's Favorite Burger Combo with a side of fries. I also go some of their strawberry deep fried donuts to top off my meal. This is not fast food. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my meal after I had placed my order. The burger was pretty good. It was unique, flavorful and very tasty. The fries were decent to average. As for the fried donuts, I got 5 donut holes with strawbeery syrup sprinkled on it. It was not what I was expecting, but it was ok. I would probably skip those next time. All in all, I had a decent meal that I enjoyed. I would definitely eat here again.

This is my second Big Wood location to visit, and overall a good experience. It's tucked away from…read morethe main drag and sits overlooking the golf course (the big, main room and connected outdoor patio both have a great view!) - but this area at least is open to the public. I was worried when we couldn't make any reservations, but we got right in - nobody was waiting, they weren't busy, but they did seem to be scrambling to find a server for us, which I thought was a little odd. After a weird start, the rest of the visit was fantastic - service was great, food was excellent, and we had a lovely time on a date night. Restrooms are on the first floor (an older review says the women's is downstairs in a creepy hallway, but this must have been renovated) and are single-occupancy and unisex, which is an interesting experience depending on who has visited before you -- this was probably the low point of the experience, that restroom could use some upkeep. Not just an unpleasant previous visitor, but structurally. For such a nice place, that part was sketchy. Definitely will be coming back overall.

Late night just isn't the right time to go in and sit and eat...

Tonight, we started our adventure with a couple of drinks - Rum & Coke, and a Leinenkugles draft. For an appetizer, we selected the jalapeño pepper cheese cubes. The drinks were cold and refreshing, while the cheese cubes spiced up our taste buds. Our main course was the house specialty - Pizza! Thin and crispy crust with deluxe toppings, add pepper rings and black olives, and cooked to perfection. Overall we had a visit and meal, complimented with the best server Whitney. She was so attentive and pleasant, making our adventure the best! I highly recommend The Willard if you're in town - and ask for Whitney

Service was a little slow, but it was crowded & they were short-staffed so we were patient & enjoyed visiting with our friends. The food was SUPER SLOW...not just ours, but most of the tables around us too. One table nearby left before their food came. After waiting about 35-40 minutes I asked the waitress if we were close to getting our food. She said she had ckd on it & it would be here soon. I asked if we could get some fries or something while waiting & she said ok- but she never brought them. It was prob 75-90 minutes that we waited on food. NOT great customer service! When it finally came out-our food was really good! Our group of 4 had a ribeye steak sandwich, an egg salad sandwich, a grilled chicken salad, & a grilled chicken pesto sandwich. Everything tasted great. I would probably go here again, just not at a busy time. The place is beautiful & we love the atmosphere. It just wasn't a good experience this time. If they would've given us a free appetizer or a discount on the bill, that would've been helpful.
