We were in Franklin for a day and got in after lunch and before dinner, so the limbo of time brought us to Court Street Cafe. The space is small and like another commenter said, the acoustics were horrible. You can hear everything being said since it echos. Staff were friendly-ish. Maybe I'm just used to southern hospitality, but the server/cashier/host came across as rude at first and finally showed some kindness after we ordered. Food was okay. You can see the kitchen from the tables and saw bagged potato chips and other store bought items in the back being sold as homemade. I doubt if we're in the area we'd ever go back.

It is a perfect small town local cafe, it feels very communal and cozy, but at the same time the tables are a bit crowded but there's a perfect amount of room so you still get your own personal space bubble. I was using the bathroom when glancing into the kitchen and noticed multiple jars left open and stuff all over the counters, I can't judge though because they were short staffed and it was very crowded. There was a girl sitting on her phone during the busy afternoon I did not see her wash her hands. Once again I can't judge this because you never know what was going on in someone's life like an important situation but she was giggling and a different staff member, our waitress god bless her corrected her and told her to put it away. Our waitress was an absolute queen she was constantly at our aid and was running the place, I didn't catch her name but she had brown curly hair and glasses. The food was phenomenal I ordered the yogurt parfait, strongly recommend because it was super fun to assemble and I felt like a skinny queen eating it. Overall had a good time with family despite the little concerns!

I get together with a good friend once in awhile and we go to lunch. I wanted to explore more new and different places to eat in the Franklin area because she lives there. We decided to try this cafe. She had heard good things about it previously. I looked at their reviews on Yelp and thought it would be a safe and decent choice. It's not a large diner/restaurant. It's deeper than it's wide. It was comfy enough and looked clean and fresh regarding its decor and appearance. It wasn't loud or busy. We both ordered the Tuscan chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was very good. The amount of food was adequate and the quality was fresh and tasty. The pricing was OK considering all things. I would rate my food an 8 on a ten scale. The service was a 5. Even though they were not busy, I felt our server wasn't attentive to us regarding our basic needs like extra napkins and drink refills. I don't recall her checking on us and asking us how our food was. It's just basic stuff that should happen. I would definitely consider eating there again and trying something else on the menu. They had lots of other very tempting choices to choose from.

The Court Street Cafe is a delightful place - quaint and cozy. The breakfast is prepared fresh and plenty of healthy options from quiche and fruits to stuffed French toast. Today I had a 'farmers ' breakfast - B & G, bacon, eggs, pancake. Sized just right and cooked to perfection. The service was nice, too. It's a smaller venue, but the help is very attentive and helpful to explain the menu. Overall a great experience and will definitely recommend to all. Additionally, Franklin has a farmers market close by on Saturday morning.

Pretty average diner style food. Lots of different burgers to choose from and I went with the grilled cheeseburger. Sourdough bread is always good as a bun, so I liked having that option but there wasn't anything special about the burger itself. Honestly I could make this at home very easily. Fries are not on the menu, so I went with the potatoes that are diced and cooked in a cast iron skillet. Definitely different and they were pretty good fixed that way. There is an up-charge for that - standard side is chips and a pickle. It was just an okay place to eat. I probably won't go back repeatedly but decent if there isn't much else open.

Delicious! At first I thought the prices were just a little high. I changed my mind when I received and ate my food. It's all made from scratch, generous portion, and so good! A small cafe on the square. Loud with customer chatter, but good ambiance. I'd go back.

Went here for the first time today. This is a cozy little cafe where the tables sit close to one another and you just feel like you are somewhere special. The prices are insanely reasonable. My daughter ordered the ultimate BLT which has avocado on it and comes with kettle chips. The sandwich was very good and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I got a full order of biscuits and gravy which is two split biscuits with gravy on top. The flavor was on target but the temperature...well, that was my reasoning for only four stars for this review. The biscuits and gravy were just lukewarm. I didn't say anything because we realized after we had already been seated that the place was closing soon. I know for me, personally, when it's time to leave my place of work, I want to leave - I don't want problems holding me up. So I didn't want my mentioning of my warm food to cause their employees any delays getting off work.

And he said the menu will expand again soon. Since I was by myself and he had some time, he sat down and we chatted for awhile. The seating at both restaurants, and you can call them that now since they do not just sell drinks anymore, has been greatly expanded both indoors and outside. He also told me they are working on opening a Plainfield location. I ordered my usual The Slugger on a biscuit for my bread choice (4) with sausage for my meat choice (3) and provolone for my cheese choice (5). It was superb and just how I remembered it from the other location when I was eating breakfast there several days a week about a year ago. I also ordered one Biscuit & Gravy which was excellent as well. I love small local business establishments and cooking. They always have great service and a friendly atmosphere. The cafe is now owned by Diane, Ann's daughter. The tables are packed tightly together, but we were happy to get the last seats in the house. Nostalgic photos of Franklin cover the walls. The place is loud but with a great positive energy. People are small-town friendly and talk between tables as they enjoy their biscuits and gravy. We cajoled with two regulars who told funny stories. Our server, Gill, was quick to the table and friendly. He checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The menu is a mix of traditional breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Prices are reasonable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered their hand breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was massive with a great browned breading, served on a Kaiser roll. The pork was tender and juicy. It was a perfect tenderloin, worthy of the Indiana Tenderloin Trail. The hand-cut fries are lightly breaded, crispy and hot. There was an up-charge for the fries, but they were so good and worth it. It was rainy outside, so I had a bowl of the daily soup - broccoli cheddar. The soup was hot, thick, creamy with lots of broccoli and cheese and stuck to my ribs. My soup was served with packs of saltines. Free street parking is available if you're lucky to grab a spot. Well worth the drive to Franklin. Ps. They are closed Saturday and Sunday!

The cocktail actually had some heat, and the glass was rimmed with Everything Bagel Seasoning. I'd never had that before. It was a tasty touch. The candied bacon garnish was divine. We ended up ordering a second round. The Jalapeño Deviled Eggs are outstanding. Smooth and creamy, topped with jalapeño and candied bacon. Every bite was a pleasure. For entrees, I got the Bourbon Jalapeño Shrimp. It had a light kick and tasted incredible. My husband ordered the Rise & Shine Chicken Biscuit. It was all tasty, but that biscuit was fluffy and salty, exactly how a good biscuit should be. Our server made the whole meal. She was friendly and patient with me even though I was having more trouble than usual deciding what to order. She also mixed our Bloody Marys, so she was working double duty and doing it well. It made waiting for my order pleasant. My coffee got topped off a couple times and I really appreciated that the temperature was immediately drinkable while providing a deep rich flavor. My order arrived along with my bill (my waitress hadn't asked if there would be anything else and also forgot to bring silverware.) I grabbed a napkin-rolled set of utensils from the counter and dug into my meal. The Canadian Bacon was thick cut and tasty. The eggs were poached to where there was just a small trickle of yolk when sliced. The Hollandaise Sauce was okay, but not as flavorful as I've had elsewhere. The fruit was house cut, but wasn't the freshest. Still okay, but maybe it had been cut hours before. I appreciate that they provided a steak knife to facilitate cutting through the stack, including the English muffin on the bottom. The restaurant itself is fine, your pretty standard strip mall diner vibe but with a Hispanic flair. The music is unobtrusive and it's easy to carry a conversation. The major problem we had was that the kitchen must've been understaffed because food was taking about an hour to come out even for the neighboring tables. The place did die down around 1pm which is when we were leaving so I would definitely recommend coming during off-peak hours. Food: Fresh squeeze OJ - love pulpy OJ and this had tons of it but the oranges just weren't quite at peak ripeness. 3/5 Pastor skillet - The skillet had good flavor with crispy potatoes, avocado, pineapple bits, and nice amount of eggs. The pastor unfortunately had quite a few gristly pieces that really detracted from the experience. 4/5 Tlacoyo - A classic central Mexican dish. It's a stuffed corn patty kind of like a pupusa which is more tortilla like. You can add nopales which is cactus and tastes like green bell peppers and a protein which I added asada steak to mine. I would recommend adding both to make it a nice filling meal. I got half-half red and green sauces as well and they're both delicious, pick green if you want mild and red if you like spicy. Definitely the winner of the meal here. 5/5 Overall, this place serves mid-tier food with great Hispanic twists on your traditional breakfast/brunch options. The salsas and proteins have authentic flavor although some higher quality cuts of meat would level this place up a bit. I would give this place another try but would definitely come at non-peak hours or a weekday if possible.
