TLDR: Come visit if you'd like to experience the Slowest Wendy's in San Antonio. First off, I *like* Wendy's overall as a chain. Experiences have been mixed to good on the whole, and there's no beating a Baconator when the mood hits you. This location is seriously understaffed and I have to wonder about who they're hiring. The people who came in before me tried to pay with a large bill and they couldn't figure out how to make change. Also, they were unable to take credit cards that day because the system was down. Eventually, once the Paleolithic gave way to the Bronze Age I was able to order. I got my food, tore into it since I was starving, and got the hell out. On the pro side of things: 1) The parking lot is convenient even if the entrance isn't (it's blocked on the DeZavala side by a lot of traffic from a much busier Chik-fil-A.) 2) The dining room wasn't filthy. 3) The food came out (mostly) correctly. But it was lukewarm at best. Just...go somewhere else. Read the other reviews, you don't need the aggravation. This place scores a 1 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. It took 30 minutes to get my two meals, and the meals themselves were disappointing. A "large" drink filled from top to bottom with ice, a "baconator" that's smaller than something from the McDonald's value menu, and a "large" fry that makes the burger look like a normal size. Slowest Wendy's in San Antonio. I waited around 10pm for some nuggets (this location closes at 1-2) for my friend and waited 17 minutes to order with one person in front of me then was made to back up so the pressure plate would reset and make it look like they are faster. Then the guy at the window took my phone to give them a positive review and a code for a discount code then deleted the tab so I couldn't get it. In total it took 27 minutes at the drive though. Terrible place. Not sure how it's still open. The only reason you should go is absolute desperation, and even then just go somewhere else. read more

I didn't mind that staff weren't friendly because they weren't mean either I don't need them to be super smiley and everything just don't be rude to me, be helpful and I'm happy. I don't know the name of who helped me and I don't have my receipt on me but he was helpful with any questions I had I had just walked a couple blocks, was super hungry after not eating that day so was a little frazzled. He was of help and he was multitasking but still very helpful. My burger was tasty and still warm after the drive home. The fries weren't but that was not their fault I didn't see I had poked a big hole in the bag. Slowest branch imaginable. I pre-ordered on the app and announced it at the drive thru where they told me to drive up. When I got to the window, no one greeted or acknowledged me. After several minutes, a man briefly shouted to me about a mobile order with other items. I said no and tried to correct him but he didn't pay attention. Several minutes later he tried to give me someone else's order. When I told him no and repeated my order (third time), he proceeded to prepare 2 frosties, but chocolate not vanilla as I ordered. Then he wanted to see my app before he finally "found" my order and got my food. All in all it took me over 15min to pick up fries and 2 frosties with only 4 cars ahead of me in line. Fast food business is hard. I get it. I work in it. Took my baconator in (drive through) to get it remade. Had 2.5 pieces of bacon on it and was thrown together, not hot at all. The manager Roland told me it is a baconator. I showed Roland the Wendy's website and it says 6 pieces of bacon on the description for the sandwich. Didn't have the right amount of cheese either. Handed it back with more bacon on it. Same sandwich, still not hot. Got a refund for it. All he had to do was remake it correctly and I would have been on my way. Now I won't be back. Honestly this was my first and will be my last visit to Wendy's. I ordered today through the WENDYS mobile app to save time since I was picking up food before my next meeting. There are 3 pick up options in the WENDYS mobile app - one of which is to pick up via the drive thru. I opted to pick up via the drive thru and went to go pick up my order. I hopped in the long drive thru line and when i finally get to speak to someone, they tell me I have to go inside to grab my order. I politely advised that the app says I can pick it up via the drive thru and that's the option I selected. The employee completely disregarded me and says no, I have to come inside. At this point I'm already frustrated, but I'm like whatever I can go inside. So I go inside and tell them I have a mobile order and they CANT find it. I show them my order through the WENDYS APP and they say " yah thats our location, but we don't have your order". At this point, honestly I'm fuming. And then magically, they freaking find my order after I tell them my name about 10x. I'm here to also tell y'all that there is absolutely no point in ordering ahead in the app. It saves you no time. They printed out my ticket and made it just like if I were to come and order it there. I then realized they were treating me this way because they assumed I was picking up for DoorDash. Regardless if I was picking up for DoorDash or not, no one deserves to be treated that way. I will visit a different location if I decide to visit Wendys again. For now, I'm honestly good on it. Extremely incompetent slow service. We ordered four small biggies, simple right? But the order guy couldn't run the register right asking multiple questions repeatedly. I guess pushing buttons with icons on them is a little difficult for some.
