It was a late night after the NIN concert and my son needed food before heading back to his dorm so we hit up the Wendy's drive thru. It was convenient, not too far from campus and drive thru was open very late. Staff was friendly and was patient while my son figured out what he wanted. Prices have gone up, just like everywhere. But he got a biggie bag and extra chicken tenders. Had enough food to finish the next day so wasn't too terribly bad. I'm honestly done giving wendy's chance after chance just to be disappointed every single time. Nothing about this place feels worth it anymore. The food is always wrong, cold, or just thrown together like nobody working there even cares. The fries? Either stale or drowning in salt. The burgers look like they've been through something before they even get to you. And the drive-thru? DONT even get me started. You sit there forever, thinking it's about to be worth the wait, and then you finally get your food and it's a complete letdown. Like what exactly am I waiting for???? At this point, I should've just gone to Arby's like I usually do. At least there I know my food is gonna have flavor and actually feel like somebody made it with a little effort. Very slow service. I was in line for the counter for 10-12 minutes, had my breakfast order figured out, just about to order, the clerk walked away and flipped all the menu signs over to the lunch side and didn't want to take my breakfast order. She said "we have no breakfast food, not anything". After a couple of minutes of inducement, they finally took it. The first thing I said was "I'd like a #5, à la carte" and then she said "what drink do you want with that?" Simply put, Wendy's has good fast food if you're looking for burgers, chicken nuggets, frosty's, and other things. However, I am specifically writing this review about my experience at this location today. I had placed a mobile order for pick up through the drive-thru. I got my food in a timely manner, but I noticed that my side of medium fries was never placed in the bag. When I noticed, I notified the drive-thru worker and he told me to pull up to the front of the store since a new batch of fries was being made. When I was driving off, I over heard another worker ask if I needed small or large fries, which was neither of the sizes I ordered. When I got the fries, I noticed that I have received a small fry instead of medium. Being hungry and wanting to go home, I did not feel the need to argue for my fries anymore. I can count the number of times I've purchased food from a fast food place and thrown it away after one bite: 1. Runza w/Ground Beef and Cabbage (Runza, Kearney, NE) 2. Fried Chicken (All Church's, everywhere) 3. Pizza (Any Sbarro, anywhere) 4. Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit (Wendy's, La Mesa, CA) The Wendy's thing surprised me, because I love honey, butter, chicken and biscuits, but upon tasting Wendy's combination of those things into a hand-held breakfast sandwich, I discovered that the restaurant hadn't married them well. If you make the sandwich yourself, or buy it at a place where an actual cook ensures that the quality of each component is good and is well-adapted to the combination, the effort will succeed. But no such attention to detail or concern for a favorable outcome was evident in Wendy's version of the sandwich. The chicken - fried, but soggy - dampened the biscuit, which was then made cloying and gummy by the honey, and greasy by the butter. I was disappointed, and, as I say, surprised, but I shouldn't have been, because I have yet to try anything from Wendy's that is as good as it ought to be. Drive thru customer service was courteous, but took wrong order, did not know what's available on the physical menu vs online menu. Customer service inside: 2 people waiting in line, took longer than 3 minutes of waiting to be asked what we needed. Told them they had a wrong order on the receipt, did not check receipt just added a side to "complete" but wrong order. Food 1/5 incorrect order, all plain burgers had everything on it, "double stack" is the same size as a jr cheeseburger. Went last night. The guy at the window was awesome. The drive in setup needs to be better I totally missed the menu Haven't had Wendy's for years and years. Not doing it again. The price was crazy ($15) for what I got and the burger was small and so were my fries (container was large, fries were small). And I ordered a large double combo. Drink was large though. I went to Wendy's located on 6585 Mission Gorge Rd. I wanted to use my $2.00 off on any premium combo. I was helped by the supervisor, and he was a big help in getting the $2.00 off my order. The fries were hot and delicious. The burger had a big lettuce leaf on the inside of it. I pulled it off and just only used half of it. The bacon was nice and crispy with cheese melted on the burger. I would give the burger a 3 star score & the fries a 4 star rating. My overall score for this Wendy's is 3.5. Perhaps having a double would had been better and a better cut of lettuce . If you prefer a square burger, that's never frozen beef, then you might want to give them a try. I still feel that In & Out have them beat. Enjoy my friends. read more

Try the Crave Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger, the pretzel bun has a salty and crisp crust but tender on the inside, making it the perfect bun for all the goodness stuffed inside this burger! Even though Wendy's is a fast food chain restaurant they make really good burgers. The 4 for $4 is such a great deal, I comes with a drink, fries, nuggets and my all time favorite Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. I came on a weekend and it was busy. Allen seemed to be working alone but managed to provide fast, friendly and overall great service. I came here before and service was horrible! Terrible service - can't get super simple orders right. Make sure you check your orders before leaving the drive-thru or you carry out. Also, for a time right now when the bathrooms are supposed to be closed to the public for covid-19, and the employees are only supposed to be using it... Kudos to them for letting me use their bathroom, but it was absolutely disgusting with no toilet paper and what look like pee all over the floor and the trash bin completely overflowing onto the floor. read more

A half of an Apple Pecan Chicken Salad and a baked potato simply with butter, s. cream, and chives was in order when I picked up a quick meal from this Wendy's. The salad was actually pretty good, specifically the chicken which was tender and moist and had good flavor. The pecans were of a very good size and were crunchy with a touch of sweetness. I liked that they use green apple for this salad. Their tartness went well with the rest of the salad. The greens were not just simple greens but a Spring mix which added nice color to the salad. The Pomegranate Vinaigrette came in a little package and was light and refreshing, just right for this lower calorie salad. Good Salad. I was not very happy with the baked potato however. It looked nice but it had that flavor that is was over cooked or been kept in the warmed to long. The potato and skins were on the dry side. Luckily the potato came with a small packed of butter and sour cream which aided the potato. Still, the potatoes dryness prevailed for some reason. I do remember the potatoes being much better. I only ate about a third of it. Service was friendly enough at the counter. They were bust so there was not much time for small talk which was okay given I was in a hurry myself. I ordered take out. The fries were not fresh. They looked and tasted like they were cooked in old oil and had been sitting for hours. The chicken was flattened out and also cooked in old oil. This location has consistently slow service. I mean glacially slow. Even before the pandemic their service was very slow. When you go into the dining room to place an order they would take one order at a time and then not take the next order until the first order was served. Going through the drive-thru is also extremely slow. If you attempt the drive-thru during lunch, it could take you 30 minutes. Based on the number of employees you can see when ordering at the counter and the signs they post at the drive-thru saying that they are understaffed, it just seems like they don't maintain proper staffing. I do not understand the hate. There are 2 major reasons why I like Wendy's 1. The variety. What other fast food places, can you get: chilli, potato, nuggets, a burger, a frostie? Good prices 2. They are less common than say a McDonalds or Jack in the Box. I think only Weiner snitchel is rare. When I was in college, this was my go to for food. This particular Wendy's location is located in a small shopping mall. Access is ok but parking can be challenging at busy times, especially when the backed up drive-thru can block parking spots or block you in when it is time to leave. The inside is clean including the restrooms. The food is ok but the fries are the best. Food portions appeared to be small compared to other fast food hamburger joints. Regular pricing is average but they do have $4.00 combos. I am going to limit my rating to three stars because I feel Wendy's lacks value. We had a magical experience for my wife's annual birthday "going out to dinner" I felt under dressed, because the maitre'd was in a full tux with top hat and tails, but ze couldn't have been more accommodating. We were seated in the lounge by the piano and the dance show was about to begin. We both ordered the "four for four" which has your choice of any main dish plus sliced potatoes, chicken tartare and a beverage from their trough. I chose the clams casino and my wife got the chef's special, squared, scored and flattened chevaline. I was truly impressed by the service, five stars all the way. Our server spun the serving trays on sticks with one hand while removing and setting them on the table with the other, somehow removing the cloche from it midway as if through telekinesis. The presentation was only the beginning of the evening of extraordinary delights to arrive at our table. The culinary extravaganza was so spectacular our very papillae were doing backflips on our tongues. After the dances and magicians had run their course, they made a very special arrangement to bring this celebration to a close, with an indoor fireworks presentation that somehow drew a line drawing of my lovely wife's unbelievably gorgeous face. (although -- it was slightly hindered by the flash pictures the other guests were taking of the spectacle, the blame was not Wendy's. They were consummate professionals.) When our breath had been taken away and the curtains closed they began a gentle indoor misting process with a soothing sound akin to an amplified alarm clock. What a show stopper! My husband is a big Wendy's fan and whenever we need a meal on the go he wants Wendy's. This location is close to home so we end up coming here often. He always gets the 4 for $4 and never has any complaints. I am not a fan of Wendy's, I don't like their chicken and I thinks their fries are awful however I recently got a chicken Caesar salad from here and will say it was delicious but it cost a lot for it being a salad so it isn't something I will get often. Food comes out fast but it's getting pricey. I remember when the value menu had $1 items, now everything is almost $2 and it's the same small portions. I ordered a value fries ($1.79), 4 piece nuggets ($1.39) and double stack ($2.59) and it came out to over $6. I'd probably go with a $6 burger from Carl's.
