First off this place is as slow as it gets when it comes to fast food. Second, the skimp on the food beyond anything that I have seen. I ordered 3 jr bacon cheeseburgers (two came without bacon) a small fry ( that was half empty) a unsweetened tea(was watered down to something that slightly resembled tea) and a small chili ( no cheese in it and it is as liquid as water) All of this costs me $19 I'm so disappointed with my order I'm thinking about just ignoring Wendy's from now on. read more

We ordered nuggets for my 6 year old and they somehow mistakenly gave her spicy nugs, she burnt her mouth and refused to eat anything else because she doesn't trust them, my wife spoke to the man at the counter who clearly didn't care and walked away. The restaurant was dirty the soda machines were devoid of ice and half the flavors were out. The staff here doesn't seem to give a shit about anything. For fast food this Wendy's location is good. They kept the drive thru open during the "Covid Interruption". The food is always hot and made fresh. Breakfast is super good and a great value. But be aware that this place gets very busy on Saturdays because it's Mall-Side. read more

We went to this Wendy's over an hour before close and waited 25 minutes in line just to find out that they were out of fries and according to girl screaming through the drive through microphone there was no substitutions allowed. She also screamed at the car ahead of us who must have been a door dasher that they were going to have to cancel the order on their end because of the lack of fries and when the door dasher inquired why the Wendy's didn't cancel it she yelled more. While I can understand running out of something, offering no substitutions at all and then still charging for it seems crazy to me. Not anxious to return to this Wendy's anytime soon. read more

Dinner and a show? We came to Wendy's tonight for dinner and was surprised we left with any. New kid left our food on the counter for at least 10 minutes trying to figure out if he had everything while just leaving empty cups for frostys. Luckily one of hos coworkers finally helped out. Stopped at the South Portland Wendy's this morning and I was very disappointed! Normally a good stop but today was just sad! Ordered through the mobile app, bacon, egg, and cheese muffin with black coffee and seasoned potatoes.  When the associate handed me the bag he said "sorry we are out of the potatoes so I gave you what we had (3 little ones) and an oatmeal bar instead". Since I was short on time I said fine and left. I opened the sandwich and it was sausage not bacon! Back to the window and he said "sorry I'll fix it". A few minutes later,  he handed me the bacon muffin and I left. When I bit into it, the yoke ran down my chin! Totally unsatisfactory but no time to go back again! Last night I waited in the drive through line for 25 minutes just to be told at the order window they close at 8 and can't take any more orders. It was 7:59. 25 people behind me all got turned away after waiting just as long. Listen I understand the worker shortage, and the Covid issue but what I don't understand is why we were not warned when in line that there was no point in waiting. As I sat in line the guy before me ordered and kept looking back at me conversing with the employee and they were laughing like this was all a big joke. When I was told by the worker he couldn't take my order he could barely hold back laughing... is this funny? How disrespectful. I don't understand how you can operate a business like this. Stopped in for a quick snack before dinner (yes, my boyfriend needs about 8 meals a day to survive) so we thought, we're in a time crunch, let's just pull into Wendy's. We thought-Wendy's seems to always be one of the first choices over say, a McDonald's or Burger King..but certainly not this location by the Maine Mall. First, when we entered, the man standing at the front desk acted as if we were intruding, like he didn't work there. He didn't greet us, we had to awkwardly approach him and he asked what we wanted. I just ordered French fries-I like how Wendy's uses sea salted, hand-cut potatoes. They were fresh and warm, granted, we were one of three tables so I'm sure they didn't have any sitting around like a typical McDonald's does. My BF got two spicy chicken sandwiches, the hot sauce was dripping into the box-it was just too much. The frosty was presented as a milkshake-maybe something was off balance with their machines? Believe it or not, two things really bothered me about this place-one being the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The decor appears new on the inside-but sadly it's not being taken care of. All of the bathroom stalls were either not flushed, had empty water bottles inside, or no TP. The trash can designs REALLY had us confused. The openings to dump your leftovers..I could have barely fit my hand inside. How am I suppose to dump my tray? I don't understand how this happened. Tbh I love Wendy's. Their fries are otherworldly. There's honestly no other fast food restaurant I like besides like Taco Bell or whatever but I've been shorted too many times man. I've been coming to this Wendy's semi-regularly for the past 15 years. I've never had any problems or issues when I've ordered my food inside the restaurant. But the drive-thru might as well be a completely different restaurant. I've had all sorts of problems there, ranging from minor to major. I now avoid the drive-thru unless I have absolutely no other choice. The dining room is about the same as any McDonald's or Burger King dining room. The service at the counter is so-so and varies greatly according to the time of day. But the food is almost always good or great. And they now have one of those fancy shmancy drink machines that has a touch screen and gives you about a hundred soda options. read more

STAY AWAY! The last time my son and I went into Wendy's we stood in line for about 10 minutes. The woman in front of us received her order and went to sit down. About 30 seconds later she came back and proceeded to show the cashier her burger that had a FULL RUBBER GLOVE in between the buns. All the cashier said was, "hold on I will give you a refund". The staff at this location does not seem to be what you would call properly trained. Not only was the cashier rude to me- she got quite snippy when I let her know that my order was rung in wrong. The manager and older woman working in the drivethru were extremely rude. A simple order turned into 3 mistakes and a terrible experience. We ordered 2 medium vanilla frostys and 1 medium chocolate frosty and 3 chocolate chunk cookies. We got 2 cookies - that's all they had. Got money back for the one cookie...then we got the chocolate frosty. Then we were given 2 smalls....when corrected she handed us the 2 mediums and said something about money flying out the window. I'd like to know who's idea it was to let at least 5-6 other cars come and wait in line before deciding they can't serve them. Maybe a sign or something? It has become a running joke with those I know who go here, wondering what they will bunger with your order. Simply terrible food. I have been to the drive thru at this location twice and both times have been disappointing. The burgers do not seem freshly made and the fries are very soggy and soaked in oil. This particular establishment had very poor service, I got a BBQ beef sandwich, there was sauce all over the outside of the box it was in, and when I opened it, inside was a mess. There were about six people behind the counter. Everyone (employees) was complaining that they wanted to go home. All looked like they needed a good shower! The guy that took my order continually stuck his finger in his ears, touched his face and sneezed twice into his hand... After waiting nearly ten minutes he said "they are cooking your chicken". I'm generally a very patient customer but I was so disgusted with the entire event that I just looked at him and said "tell them that they can keep it" and walked out without asking for a refund. Not only does the drive up service take 25 Minutes, I'd rather eat dog vomit than ever eat at this place. The owners should consider investing in something they care about because it is obvious that they stopped caring about this place a long time ago. From the filthy appearance of the employees and what I could see of the kitchen that was enough for me to drive off without getting my order even after waiting the 25 minute in a line of 3 cars. I ended up going around the corner to Burger King and got my complete order including drive time in least than 4 minutes. They even apologized for my wait!! Dave Thomas was a man of integrity and he would be rolling in his grave if he could only see how this "one" of his greedy franchisees is ruining his companies name and reputation.
