They refuse to send out missing items and if you are lucky and they do send them it takes so long everything else gets cold. Sweet and sour chicken missing the sweet and sour sauce. Things like that. So disappointing. We've been looking forward to trying Wen's Cafe ever since they opened practically across the street from us. We finally got around to getting a delivery order today. Ordering online was easy, and the delivery was quicker than promised. Unfortunately, the food was not good. The spring rolls were fine, the same ones everyone uses. The BBQ ribs were OK, probably held a little too long, but that's understandable. The shrimp lo mein was boring, but also OK. The chicken curry had little flavor, and the flavor it did have didn't seem like curry. The big problem for me was the kung pao beef, which had a musty, almost moldy flavor. So far, I've only had takeout and delivery. This is the best Chinese food option in the area. Even better than all of the options in Round Rock. I've tried several different items. The szechuan style offerings are spiced perfectly and not every entree is served with the overdone brown sauce. I love the abundance and variety of veggies. Bamboo shoots finely chopped and tender, water chestnuts, bell peppers, onions, green onions, cabbage.. all my favorites! All of the soups are delicious. The egg drop is the traditional yolky yellow goodness so thick and flavorful, the hot and sour soup has the perfect spice level and tons of mushrooms and bamboo shoots, and the won ton soup is generous in won tons (which are huge)! Everything is hand-made, in-house. Also the egg rolls are the BEST. They're stuffed full and soooo crispy. All portions are generous and quite affordable/ inexpensive. A dinner entree could easily be split into two meals. As for takeout, we ordered for the family plus some guests so the order was large. It arrived in under an hour and was still hot when it arrived. I have eaten here a couple of time the last time I ordered the House rice and the the meat was under cooked. I called and explained to them my situation and she said no problem when you come in we will have a credit for you. Went back they acted as if they had no clue to what u was talking about, didn't want to give the credit. After a couple conversations they remade the same order for me but was not happy about it. I recommend that one make sure the food cooked fully and two put notes in that expensive system they have to what they have said to customers. read more

Good food, but not food allergy friendly. This is our second time ordering the Singapore noodles without shrimp. The first time is was made correct but not this time. My son is allergic to shellfish we did not notice it had shrimp until we got to the bottom. I requested no shrimp...it says it it on the receipt. They need to get educated on how serious food allergies are. They need proper training on the severity of food allergies. It had a coconut cream sauce that sent me right back to childhood because we used a similar coconut cream on our dessert rolls at family potlucks and it is both super comfort food and also just sensational coconut shrimp I ordered my food to be delivered and the delivery time was sooner than I expected in 5 pm traffic, so I was happy and the delivery driver was also super nice. They deliver up to 6.9 mi but under 5 mi is complimentary delivery, which I appreciate and find very conscientious of them as a business. Overall I've had the aforementioned dishes as well as the chicken lettuce wraps, chicken with vegetable, and a bite or two of my boyfriend's orange chicken. Wen's Cafe was a pleasant surprise for our lunchtime dining experience. The food was tasty and hot. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was very clean and pretty busy without being overly crowded or noisy. All dishes came out piping hot and sauces were delightfully flavorful and rich. I wasn't a fan of the egg rolls (the filling seemed a bit undercooked to me) not their dipping sauce however everything else was really good. I called in my order and asked them for suggestions for tofu dishes. I ordered the bean curd vegetable dish which was flavorful and delicious. It came with steamed rice and the portion was large that I have left overs for the next day. The veggie spring rolls were crispy and fried to perfection. Only saw this place was open thanks to Yelp. Ordered to go and it was ready within 10 mins. After arriving home everything was so hot and fresh. The crab rangoons were very crispy and stuffed with filling, the coconut shrimp had a lot of yummy coconut sauce covering the shrimp and they were so big, plump and juicy. Now I have had a lot of sesame chicken and a lot of places charge for white meat. Without an additional charge I received a overflowing bowl full of juicy white meat chicken. It's becoming rare to see General Tso's, Sesame, and Orange Chicken on the same menu. Neat to see Tangerine Chicken alongside all of the classics. I will be back to try the others and see if they stand on their own. The Tangerine Chicken was tender, and the batter coating soft. I believe it's pounded chicken thighs. Don't come here for standard Panda Express-style chicken. The slightly thick sauce had a fresh sweet-and-sour flavor. A bit too sweet, but nice. A portion of broccoli would help balance it out (+$2 to add, I passed). One of the better Hot & Sour Soups I've had in a long while. Full list of ingredients and not overpowered by soy sauce.
