Waited 40 minutes past the promised pick up time and then an employee was extremely rude. I won't be back. I understand there is a staffing shortage, but then they should modify their promised pick up time. 40 minutes late is unacceptable, and then being rude to the customer is doubly unacceptable. I love this place! The food is always amazing, fresh, and consistent. They offer a large variety of options and the portion sizes are huge. I've never had any issues when I've ordered. The service is always fast when you call in an order for pick up. They also offer great lunch specials during the week. As others have said, I've found Wen's Cafe to offer the best Asian food in the area! I'm outside of their delivery range, but DoorDash is happy to fill the gap on the days I'm too busy to retrieve my order. I love the fact they still don't use MSG in their food, nor do they need to. Their meals are flavorful without the enhancer. I love that Wen's is on-point with my favorite dishes: Chicken Egg Rolls, all their soups and fried rices. I started to provide a list of my favorite dishes with them, but honestly, I've been ordering from them for so long, the list is almost comprehensive of their menu! So instead, I'll say this: I typically order meat and vegetable rice dishes. Wen's provides a well-balanced combination of meats and vegetables in those dishes, and they use very good quality meats, so you won't be surprised by unexpected gristle when you chomp into a piece of meat. When in Hutto on business again, I decided on Wens. I ordered vegetable spring rolls, and Steamed shrimp with veggies. When I arrived, my order was in a large stapled paper sack and I had to ask for plastic wear utensils. I SHOULD HAVE asked for my spring rolls, they were missing so I cannot describe them. Now the Shrimp entree, it was delicious. Plump tender shrimp, fresh steamed crispy broccoli, snow peas, carrot slices, and a brown sauce that was thick, with a tad sweetness/mildly salty and a smoky flavor. Poured some and drank the rest( I'm classy like that) The brown rice was perfect. I bet the spring rolls are really good. Yeah, I paid for em, they're on the receipt. It happens. After years of trial and error, this is the only place I'll order Chinese food from in Pflugerville, and I do, at least once a month. The food is great, they handle custom requests well, and the delivery is usually spot-on with their online estimate and often faster. They got us through the pandemic for sure. Do yourself a favor and order some extra rice though; the portions for the dishes are pretty big, but the accompanying rice can't keep up. I was craving eggplant dish and looked up for new place to eat. OnceI saw the eggplant in garlic sauce I was wantin to go. We moved to TX about a year ago and haven't really find the Chinese place we love but once we tried this place out, it will likely be our go to in the future. The eggplant in garlic sauce was great, I definitely love it. My husband got kung pao chicken, and he said that it was great which I thought so too. Our kid got herself kid's fried rice. This is my favorite Chinese food. The food is fresh and good quality cuts of meat are used. My personal favorites are moo shu , the house wonton soup & tree best chicken fried rice. I added a 20% tip for the driver on their webform and I double checked that I was charged for the tip. The driver was very rude. He rang the doorbell four times in a row and pounded on the door the instant he arrived. That was impolite on its own, but not reason enough to complain. The issue we had with him was his yelling "TIP!" repeatedly at my husband and insisting that we hadn't tipped him. He was also clearly working sick, as he was coughing. Our review is a little mixed. This restaurant is mostly set up for carryout or delivery but does have 5 - 8 restaurant tables for sit down. Ordering is more like a Dairy Queen where you order at the counter and they give you a number. Beverages are a little difficult because they are only served in bottles. I wanted and iced tea and I had to buy it in a bottle. I did not have the option to get a glass with ice in it. Crab rangoon was excellent. Beef with broccoli was okay. Orange chicken was also excellent. Customer service was okay but I would rather have had a table service. Everything was served in disposable plastic trays and utensils were plastic as well. In summary the food was great but if you are looking for a dining experience that's a little fancier than Dairy Queen I would avoid this place. However if you are looking for something fast and tasty or want to take it home this is a very good choice. read more

The waitresses were very attentive and friendly and the food was brought out very quickly. I had a hot green tea and they bring it in a very nice tea cup and it was perfect (i had a cold). I ordered from their lunch specials that are from 11-3 all under $10. It's a great deal because you get your main dish, soup, and an egg roll. I ordered shrimp with veggies and fried rice. The soup I had was egg drop soup and it was all very delicious. The veggie spring roll was big and I was not expecting that it was delicious as well. First time having Wen's Cafe through delivery and they did not dissapoint! The thai chicken and shrimp with green beans is definitely a new craving of mine. If you love curry, this is not a dish to pass up on. Also ordered the spicy garlic eggplant because of all the shining reviews of it and that dish became an instant favorite for my wife. I added chicken to it as someone suggested in their review, spot on. Lastly, the orange chicken - muah*. Juicy, tender... both in orange chicken ball form and in the lean cuts of the other entrees. If anyone asks what type of food I'd like to order for takeout, Chinese is never my first suggestion - unless it's Wen's Cafe! I've ordered several of their dishes (Triple Delight is my favorite because it has beef, chicken & shrimp and it's spicy) and have been pleasantly surprised. The food has never been oily, greasy nor over salted. Also, did you know they don't use MSG? :-) They have a few dishes that are not Chinese. Off the top of my head, there is a Thai dish that we order frequently. It's delicately flavored and lightly spicy (not hot at all). It's coconut milk based and has chicken with green beans. I can't think of all of the different dishes we've ordered but I know we have tried at least 7 different ones. There is one that I wouldn't order again, the orange chicken. It was too sweet and a bit watery. Lastly, I highly recommend the shrimp rolls. The order has two. Each has one shrimp rolled into a thin wrapper and fried. They come with a sweet & sour sauce. Give 'em a try. P.s. they delivery for free within (I believe) 4 miles. The orders are also delivered quick. read more

Tried Wens on DoorDash twice and so it's now official: consistently yummy. It's so very tasty and fresh. The soup arrives hot and the meals are fresh. Had The Generals chicken, Sesame Chicken, MuShu Chicken, egg rolls, Hot and Sour and Won Ton soups....all very tasty. Hardly any MSG as I'm sensitive. I could smell the REAL jasmine rice before I got in the car, and the sesame chicken is 100% real white meat chicken and large portion size with great flavor. the egg drop soup was a large portion and had lots of egg in it and the broth was very flavorful . Just moved here and I love Asian food. There some give and take with this restaurant but overall was a good experience. I ordered the bean curd home style and it was good but not great. Good: -I like the location, it's very convenient -The service was fast, but we arrived around 5 before the dinner rush. -there is a wide variety of dishes but not too much to be overwhelming. -there was a special vegan section!!! I loved that. It's very rare to find an Asian restaurant with a specialty vegan section. -generous portion sizes -good price Bad -WAAAAAAY to much sauce. I took my leftovers home and wiped a lot of the sauce off before eating it. And the sauce wasn't even good. Tasted like store bought sauce that was added last minute. Which is a little annoying when the vegetables they used were so tasty they would have been great if they were sautéed with just oil and soy sauce -when I was sitting there were 5 people standing around us who were waiting for their food they ordered for pick-up. Order the sesame seed chicken 12.50 with fried rice and did not have any fried rice. They also gave us egg rolls instead of Spring rolls. It's rare to find a Chinese restaurant in our neck of the woods that carries a lot of the traditional meals like the Central or South places do, so we were impressed. By traditional, I mean the two below dishes we ordered since most places carry one or the other. To start, every table receives a complementary fried sweet in spicy wonton strips. Very tasty!! Kiddo even ate it. We started with the shrimp rolls and vegetarian egg rolls. Flavor was great and I love they use 'duck' sauce and not the overly sweet pink sauce. (Duck sauce is an orange sauce typically apricots or peaches) We ordered Singapore noodles (minus the egg) which had combination meat and excellent flavor. We also ordered the salt n pepper shrimp which had excellent breading - not to thick - just right so flavor translated. No heads. We ordered the chicken nuggets and fries for the kiddo and boy is he picky. He LOVED them. Excellent portions all round and very friendly service. We used to enjoy Wen's when we could eat inside and everything was hot and tasted great. However, we do not go anymore because the dining room has been closed and the food does not taste as good from delivery. Especially the tangerine beef...which is wonderful right to the table. Crispy.
