If I ever need help with a motor again, Crimson is where I'm going. In a nutshell, they pulled off…read morea super-fast miracle repair on a motor for a discontinued pool pump, and did so at a far lower price than I expected to pay. Here's the story. I serve on the board at my neighborhood pool. On a Friday morning, we discovered that the motor to our pool pump went out (the impeller broke apart). This happened when we were getting the pool ready for to open for the season. It's a very old pool, and we needed help fast if we were going to open on time. Our pool operator recommended Crimson as the absolute best company to call. So we called Crimson around 11AM (keep in mind it's Friday) and they said to bring it in ASAP. Mike from Crimson got on it the moment the motor came through the door. First he had to break down the motor to figure out what was wrong, which was done incredibly fast. He also needed to know who made the pump. So I went back to the pool and saw that the pump was so old it had no markings. I sent Mike some pictures of the pump instead. By this time it's well after lunch (on a Friday!). Within a couple hours he figured out who made it, that the pump had been discontinued by the manufacturer, and found the exact parts needed to repair the motor. (Keep in mind that you can't just buy any old parts. The impeller, motor, seals, etc. all must be a specific type that will work with our specific pool pump.) Mike actually got all the parts ordered that day (did I mention it's a Friday?) for overnight delivery. Unbelievable! One of the parts had to come by a big truck due to weight, and we weren't sure we got the order in soon enough for the trucking company to pick it up that day. Mike had zero control over this. Mike said that if that parts came on Monday, he'd have us the motor on Monday. But it could be Tuesday if the one heavy part did not arrive on Monday. Now, to be truthful, someone from our pool actually found a brand new motor buried in our shed, so that ended the crisis to get the old motor repaired ASAP. But Mike never let up, and still went full throttle to get it repaired. I am pretty sure that Mike had much bigger fish to fry than our cheap little motor repair. But it was like we were his only customer. He always talked to me when I called, was very patient when I asked stupid questions because I don't know anything about motors, and was 110% of what customer service should be. And it did not end up costing nearly as much as I feared it would. Crimson will always be the first company I call for repairs like this. Thank you Crimson!!!!!!!

I've used Palmetto Pools & Spas twice in the past month for some urgent repairs…read more First one was to replace the multiport valve on the Hayward filter. It was worn and I could no longer press the lever down to rotate the valve for drainage or waste-out. It was right before a big storm and I was worried that I would be unable to drain the pool if needed, due to the rain. Dan came out within a couple days to replace the valve assembly. Reasonable price. The second repair was the pump motor. The day before the big snow storm, the motor started making a terrible noise and I was worried it was about to seize up. With the deep freeze happening, it was imperative that I get the motor replaced quickly. Dan was able to come out right after the snow. I was lucky that the original motor held out through the freeze. It all worked out fine. Dan was knowledgeable about the pool equipment, friendly, and nice to deal with. Will use them again the next time I need a repair.

He never came out to inspect the pool personally. Instead, we had to take samples to a nearby pool supply store, where we consistently encountered low chemical levels. Whenever we raised issues, we were told it was our equipment and to call our builder. We did, and it wasn't the equipment. Our builder even came out to fix other issues that Palmetto wouldn't handle, like a liner that had come out of the track. We sent photos and videos of the problems, such as algae starting in our pool. In response, we were told that if we wanted it cleaned, there would be an extra charge. We already pay over $300 a month, so an additional charge for algae in the skimmer basket made no sense. Almost a 1/2 year- we did give them a chance. I have enclosed photos of the algae and what they left our system. In summary, promises were made but never kept. We've learned our lesson and moved on to another pool company, hoping for better service. Amy
