We were merging into very slow back to back traffic and with the lane ending. Truck 81 guys with glasses seemed to be letting us in since it was our turn to come in and with nowhere to go but then got right up close to us and tapped our bumper scratching the tail of our truck. Would not recommended. Driver needs retrained. I have the license plate and a police report will be filed. read more

I'm a 79 year old Viet Nam veteran. Needed help moving a crated engine and transmission into a truck bed. we were stranded in an RV park as our motorhome could not be put in drive. We called two other tow truck Services stating we had an RV, but both tow trucks were too small. We were recommended to West and Son's towing by the Mercedes service manager and they were able to take our 25 foot motor home to the mercedes dealership. Our driver Timmy was excellent. He was professional, helpful, and very calm in a stressful situation. Timmy took the driveshaft off our vehicle to tow our vehicle to the Mercedes dealership When he reattaching the driveshaft we discovered that our vehicle was now able to shift into drive so that we take it home to New Jersey. My transmission died just off the 290 one afternoon. I was on the frontage road as traffic was heavy inbound to the city. I called and a truck was dispatched. Due to the time of day the wait was a bit long, but West & Sons weren't waiting for me to call, so I waited. All things considered it wasn't bad. When the driver arrived he quickly hooked my van and pulled it up on the deck. He handled my van as it were his own, and that's a plus. He towed me to a transmission shop that he was familiar with and highly recommended their services. He certainly knew what he was talking about, as this is where my van was repaired! Took great care to prevent damaging my motorhome with a rear tow, since it was a rear wheel that popped off. I called on a Saturday afternoon and needed a tow to get me out of Good Samaritan Hospital's parking garage. My car had died there and needed a starter replaced. But first I needed to get it home. It was very difficult for any tow truck to do as I needed a tow truck that only had a 7 FT. clearance and no bed. West and sons said we will be right out and met me in 16 minutes from the first call. My tow truck driver was TIM and I learned he is one of the sons within the company. He was absolutely amazing. He even tried to help me get the starter to work to save me money from buying a new one, but unfortunately I did need a new one in the end. I also gave him a challenge by placing it in the back of my property with difficult angles to work with but he did it so fast and brilliantly. This is my first time using a tow truck service and as a 36 year old single woman, I was terrified, but Tim came to the rescue and just in time for my birthday! A tow is something that you hope you never need, and rarely a pleasant experience. Even so, West & Sons managed to make my situation a little more bearable on an altogether pretty rotten day. Apparently for my very first time ever needing a tow, I picked a really bad day to do it. The day after New Year's, with -10 degree temperatures...ouch. I quickly found out that my car was not the only one that wouldn't start! After calling Roadside Assistance at 8:30, which was apparently offline due to the volume of calls, Subaru had me call around to schedule my own tow. Every company I tried had a minimum of a 5 hour wait time. I ultimately went with West due to their Yelp status. Yes, it was quite a while of a wait, but I let them know I needed to get in to Subaru before they closed at 7 pm to get my loaner and they were able to get me in just in time. The tow guy John was extremely efficient and courteous, even after what must have been an exhausting day for him. Thanks to them, I was able to get my loaner in time and not have to miss another day of work. THANK YOU so much for your help on an awful day, you totally saved my bacon! read more

Surprised it only took him under 20 min to get to the location. Getting a 12ft tall truck through a parking garage was hard enough, getting a semi tow truck into a narrow opening in a parking garage with curving road was pretty damn impressive.
