Today was my last day stepping foot into this business. Never again! I will happily spend my money elsewhere. I always default to the nearest neighborhood business, and this is the closest dry cleaner to my house. However, I have been routinely disappointed by the negative, patronizing attitude that David has with customers. Today I walked in and as usual, there was nobody up front and no way to summon someone from the back. I've asked before whether there is a bell, and there is a bell - but they've decided to keep the bell behind the counter where customers can't use it. I waited 5 minutes before David happened to notice that I was standing there. This happens every time I've visited before (3-4 times). He said "how can I help you?" and I replied "I have 4 shirts to pick up." He looked at me like I was a moron and had just said something rude to him. "Do you want to help me out with your name or phone number?" was his taunting reply. Why didn't he just ask for my name? Customer service seems to be the absolute last priority here. Every time I come in I am poorly treated with a demeaning, negative, impatient attitude. Everything I say is seen as an insult or an inconvenience. I feel "in the way." And, have fun getting someone to pay attention to you while you wait after entering the business. read more

I dropped off a suit jacket that had some makeup stains and David was able to clean it with ease. He was very informative and professional throughout my visit. He also gave me a welcome bonus since I was a new customer, which was nice. Just a note - the receipt mentions that items would be ready by 2PM so be sure to call and confirm before coming in early. I stumbled upon west bay cleaners as it is nestled right next to my favorite cafe, Cafe Zoe, that I frequent. I decided to give west bay a try as an added option to my usual cleaners. I have a white shirt that got peppered with dotted stains all over the front. The owner was very helpful in helping me understand what he could/ could not do so I could make an educated judgement on whether to spend money on the stain removal. I ended up having it done and was very satisfied with the results. Their prices were also very reasonable. I have used this cleaners for a few years now and originally selected them because of their Yelp rating. But the last couple of times, although i felt that David was knowledgeable, the way/manner he delivers/relays the information borders on insulting and very demeaning. He presented two options, of course, but when I asked him what he would suggest, he started impatiently talking down to me and lecturing me --bordering on being racist and obnoxious. I did not want to think this business had evolved into this quality of customer service--but feel compelled to relay David's very negative attitude/approach. I would strongly suggest he work on his racial profiling (to which I would think he would vehemently deny) in how he communicates with customers...not a good 'front' person for your business. read more

I would definitely recommend West Bay Cleaners. They did a good job with my shirt that I needed washed and pressed, but what compelled me to write a review is more than just that. David was exceptionally nice when I talked with him. And on the day that I needed to pickup my shirt I got stuck and work and was running late; I was going to get there after they closed. I called David and he waited for me after they were closed for the day so I could still grab my shirt. And again, he was very nice on the phone. They also offered next day pick up at no extra charge. WORTH A TRY! I came here for an emergency stain/dry clean emergency situation. I called and they weren't able to guarantee anything but said it worth a shot to bring the item in if I had time- I had time and I'm glad I went because the man there (I totally forgot his name) got the stain out!! He was so kind and basically told me it's not all situations where this can be the outcome but if he can help, he will. Very very nice and I appreciate him!! I found West Bay a year ago and have been very happy with them since. I was looking for someone to wash our down comforters, and they have by far the best price. I take clothes there now too, and they do a good job and let you know up front if there is a stain they will not be able to fully remove. Good turn around time too. read more

I have been to the place a couple times. They helped me dry clean some cashmere sweaters and a white formal dress. The owner is knowledge and friendly. He was honest with me regarding what he can do and what he cannot. My white formal dress was cleaned by another local cleaner in Thailand after my event but I was extremely disappointed about the result. I don't know what they did but the dress smelled so badly (like tons of chemicals got used on my dress without rinsing off) after they delivered my dress. Before I found West Bay Cleaners, I went to a couple other dry clean places for quotes. Compared with their quotes, West Bay Cleaners' quote was much more reasonable. Mostly importantly, they did an amazing job on getting rid of the smell of the dress. I am very happy with the result. I used to be a regular here pre-covid and FINALLY made my way back this month. So happy to say they're the same reliable, honest, and friendly local dry cleaner. Very transparent on pricing, and they're happy to accommodate any rush jobs. Most importantly, I thought I ruined a couple of my nicest dress shirts, one with a fat oil stain and the other covered in set in black tea. They made no promises about removing the stains, but when I got them back they were absolutely like new, and with no damage or discoloration. I took my Louis Vuitton shirt and jacquemus hat to this dry cleaner. Both of them end up discolored. They had the audacity to claim that they were discolored when I brought them in, which is not the case. I have the receipt detailing that the hat has dirt on it. Any dry cleaner would have put the problem area on the receipt when accepting an item, especially two "discolored items". Later on the owner claimed the discoloration on the hat was my sweat. Damn I must be a sweaty lady. Honestly I understand quarantine has been hard for dry cleaners, but the denial of responsibility and lies are just pathetic to me. The combined value of those two items is over 1k. And I did not argue with them because I know the business suffered from quarantine. But a little accountability and apology instead of blame on the customer and gaslighting would have been nice. read more

If I could leave 0 stars for this place I would. I took my items which included 4-5 dresses for my wife to this dry cleaner. When I picked up the items, they all had the same stains as they did when I dropped them off. Even though I had pointed out the stains. It basically looked like they had steamed the items and hung them without cleaning them. I then returned and explained the situation to them. They stated that they would clean the items again! So I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and the items were returned back to me dirty once again with the stains. So I requested for my my money back considering the fact that they did not do their job correctly, instead they offered me store credit or dry cleaning the items a third time! Why would I want store credit at a place where they are unable to provide appropriate service or leave my items there a third time!? Extremely rude and poor customer service. They then told me that on the back of their receipt it states that they will clean items to the best of their ability, so if it's not clean, it's not their problem. Great local cleaners. They are not cheap, but this is a very expensive area and they do a great job and are very friendly. They also do some minor alterations and repairs (send them out to someone else), and the work is always done quickly and well. They've fixed a snagged sweater for me, taken in and modified a fancy dress, and gotten some tricky stains out of my work clothes, all in impressively short time frames. One heads up -- if you do need any modifications/repairs that are more complicated than replacing a fastener or button, I'd recommend bringing them in a weekday, when the owner is around, to make sure the details of the job are communicated clearly to the tailor. read more
