I am disappointed with this cleaner for multiple reasons. First they don't list their prices anywhere in the store or online. I dropped off a saree for dry cleaning. Even in the most expensive dry cleaners (Nature's Green in Sunnyvale) I have tried in the neighborhood they only charged $24 for a silk saree. Here she charged me $55 and after I insisted on a discount she charged me $50. This is daylight robbery. She claimed other cleaners like Nature's Green don't dry clean, they just use water to launder clothes dropped off for dry cleaning. Whatever! Do not use this cleaner for your dry cleaning or they will take you to the cleaners. read more

I selected this cleaner based on their nontoxic cleaning method. They did an amazing job cleaning two formal dresses, one of which partied too hard and had staining. I brought in a wool/cashmere sweater and a silk camisole, both with minor stains, for dry cleaning. After picking the items up, I noticed a small hot pink stain on my sweater that wasn't there previously. Also, the stains on the camisole hadn't been removed. I brought my clothes back and they offered a redo. They did manage to get all the stains out, but I feel like I shouldn't have had to come back a second time. read more

I feel so lucky to have found Janey & Brian at Green and Fresh Cleaners! Our Dryer is broken and while we wait for a part, that means we have NO DRYER during winter. We had to find a good FLUFF AND FOLD service that uses hypoallergenic "green" detergents to wash our clothes since we have sensitive skin. I was delighted to bring over sheets and towels and blankets and all were cleaned and folded in a timely manner. We have now used them 3x for this fluff and fold service and every time the clothes come back so fresh and clean and folded so nicely. It is such a GIFT. DON'T do any alterations here. Not only did they charge me $35 just to cut the hem on a simple dress. It's soo badly done, shorter than I requested and very uneven. It looks really weird and now I cant fix it because it already short :( When asked why it was uneven, she said round dresses are never even at the bottom. I'm sure that's not true. If there is a slit, it should line up to the other side of the slit. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else. read more

How paranoid am I? There is a dry cleaners literally down the street from me, yet I ignore them because Yelp-ers say this place is excellent. And, it is. 1-hour Cleaners is all the way inside the teeny Tapatio strip mall (behind a gas station) that's in the middle of a much needed re-model. (Will the pothole in the middle of the parking lot be fixed? It's avoidable and obvious, but still...) Ms. Janey and staff are SUPER nice, friendly and most importantly, do a great job. Although I brought in clothes that didn't have bad stains to begin with, they all looked as good as new and pressed just right. 1-hour's customer service and attention set it apart from others. Does your dry cleaner remember your name after only meeting you once, three days earlier? :o They do here. I honestly don't know how they keep up that personal touch, considering the thousands of garments and columns of comforters they take care of. Being as I am basically a hilllbilly and haven't used a dry cleaner in years, I have no idea or memory on what pricing should be. But I am pretty sure it is a very good deal here. Make sure you ask for the non-toxic eco-friendly detergent. Otherwise they use the normal standard stuff. The "green" refers only to the dry cleaning machines. Otherwise it is not greener than any other cleaner. They are friendly though. With enough people asking for friendly detergent, and with signs encouraging re-use of the plastic bags and hangers, this may become the real thing. At that point I will revise my rating. I guess for me price is an important thing, although I brought my clothes here to get dry cleaned and wanted it the next day (which they accommodated fully), it was extremely expensive and I realized that the staffer never told me how much my dry cleaning would cost before sending me off. I paid $28 for 2 shirts and a dress, I have paid $28 for 5 items before at my local dry cleaners and they never mess up my clothes and they do a great job. I wish she would have shared with me how much each piece was and whether or not I was paying for having a rush job. I think in the end, they did a fine job, but so did my local guys, so I don't really understand why they charge so much more, and were sort of hiding their costs. I may come back here if I need dry cleaning and don't have time to go to my regular place but overall kind of pricey. read more

Best laundry service I've ever used! Run by the nicest family ever, they know their stuff, and they have incredible prices. I've trusted them to dry-cleaned everything from my silk shirts to business pants, cashmere sweaters to my spouse's dress shirts. I even had them dry clean my wedding dress... the cost was under $100 and--though I gave it to them over a year past the wedding and there was a significant number of dirt stains on it--the dress was almost impeccable when I got it back! I don't really have anything to compare to since I haven't been to a dry cleaners in the Bay Area for a couple of years now. The one thing I'm sure of about this place is that the owner is super nice and really knows her customers. The first thing she said to me as I approached the counter: "You're new in the neighborhood." Yup, I am. And to Bay Area dry cleaning in general. (I usually take home some pants and sweaters to be dry-cleaned in Houston where all the typical dry clean items cost $1.59 per item.) I brought in my long, wool coat as well as a multi-layered evening dress to be dry cleaned. The bill came out to be $44. I'm not sure if that's expensive or standard pricing, but eh. I suppose I'd be willing to give this place another try, maybe with my pants and sweaters, especially since she gave me a $4 off the next dry cleaning. (A special for new customers, she said.) A family run business with such professional efficiency. I trust and look forward to bringing my stuff here, knowing these folks care and that they remember me, especially the elder lady owner. She would address any of the delicate materials and is forthcoming of any possible mishaps. I would point out any stains I've created and they would remove them without any damage done to the garments from my experience. I usually inspect the garments during my pick up and it would be brand new from any kind of stains. Theyve impressed me with their attention to detail when it came to any sequins or delicate button, silk etc. I have not had a single bad experience coming here for the past several years. They literally saved my life. Long story: I'm a German guy on a business trip to visit clients and colleagues. For some I wanted to bring beer and as a German, cans won't do. So I packed 6 bottles (0,5 litres each), which never was a problem before. This time however my luggage was handled so roughly, that two broke. 1 Liter of German Beer (much darker and hence with more pigments than US beer and some of it from Bamberg with a smokey "aroma") has been submerging my clothes since somewhere between Frankfurt and San Francisco. The bottles have been in two layers of plastic backs, but the crushed glass pierced through them. I googled reviews and Green & Fresh made a great no-nonsense impression in their responses. So I went there and the lady almost told me that I'm an idiot (she is too polite to actually do it) and I felt right at home (she was right after all and sounded like a mother). After two days I got my stuff (1 suit, 1 additional trousers, 4 t-shirts, 2 ties) back and almost everything is perfect. The ties seemed to have soaked up too much, but the visible parts are clean and the rest is done perfectly. I need this brand new suit, which I never wore, for a client meeting and a wedding in two days. My GF would have killed me, if clothes worth more than 1000 dollars would have been destroyed by my mistake. 78 dollars for cleaning well spend. I recently had my first major dry-cleaning experience and thanks to Yelp for rating this place well and leading me to it. (I only live like 2 minutes away which is another plus!) I needed more than a few things dry-cleaned for the first time: 1 Banana Republic cashmere sweater 1 grey Anthropologie pleated skirt 1 grey JCrew dress skirt 1 red Anthropologie dress 1 white blazer with black piping from Zara I brought in my clothes on Friday and got them back Wednesday. Everything came out amazingly clean, fresh, pressed, and like new! I was most impressed with the work they did with my white blazer! That thing was amazingly white and all the little stains and stuff were gone! Total cost was $36 which is really quite reasonable. What's more is I got a $3 off coupon for my next dry-cleaning experience. Yay! I will definitely use this place again and hopefully try their tailoring services since a petite girl like me always needs some dresses hemmed! And yes, there is currently major construction going on in this plaza and the parking and everything is a mess... but didn't hinder my experience at all. Just drive carefully and pay attention. Up to a few years ago, I'm not sure I had ever been to a tailor or a dry cleaner. It was a combination of going to school, lack of knowledge, and, in general, missing that metrosexual train of a few years back. Flash forward to the present and I guess I'm an adult. I have the need for a nicely pressed shirt here and there and definitely want a suit that fits well. For the past few years, I've tried all the tailors and cleaners in the area. While price has a slight variation among all the different places, service and quality are really the stand out factors and that's where Green and Fresh Cleaners shines. After a few of my shirts and jackets had their buttons damaged at another local cleaner, I started to go to Green and Fresh more consistently. Not only have I never had issue with such damage here, I also noted that as you got to get to know the store owner, she's on amazingly great terms with many regulars. It's a combination of straight forward answers as well as quality work. Whenever I bring pants in to hem or have a suit that needs adjustment, she's quick to give her honest opinion without regard to what she will be earning from the work. Case in point: I brought in a few suits that I bought in a summer sale. She gladly tailored the first one, but was very disappointed in my 2nd suit. She said the size they sold me was completely off and that the pants were poorly sized. Rather than fixing that all her self (which I'm sure she could do), she suggested I go back to the suit store and have them exchange it for a more appropriate top and bottom. Sure enough, when I went to the suit store, they exchanged them out and admitted that the new sizes she had suggested were much more appropriate for me. I then brought the suit back to have Green and Fresh Cleaners alter it and she said that all it needed now was a slight hem of the pants. In essence she gave me the RIGHT advice, but made LESS because of it. That's why I told her we would keep coming back and would always recommend this place. She liked that and gave me an ice cream bar as a thank you for the compliment. :) As a final note of endorsement, my wife chose this place among all the others to have her wedding dress vacuum sealed and preserved. Just a heads up, this place writes your name on your clothes in permanent marker. Almost all of my boyfriend's shirts are ruined now. Also, they gave him a hard time because they supposedly don't make any profit on pressing services. Why would a business perform a service if it's not profitable? I'd rather drive a little further and go somewhere with better service, and where they don't write on your clothes. FINALLY! A place that does alterations that does not turn my pants into "Floods"! Nothing worst then getting your newly hemmed pants home only to find out that all 5 pairs were hemmed a little too short. Ugh! I was looking for a place near work to take some new jeans to. I noticed one of my favorite Yelpers had reviewed this place and loved it...and she usually knows what she is talking about ;) I took my jeans in on Tuesday and the lady had me put them on in their dressing room and come out so she could measure. I told her I didn't mind them a tad longer but absolutely not short! I like it when the bottom of the pant leg touches the bone that sticks out at the top of my foot. She told me they would be ready by Friday which was perfect because I needed them for Saturday. When I came back today to pick them up, they were hemmed perfectly! She had me try them on before I left to make sure they were the way I wanted them. I have been admiring them all day because they look great on me now! Yeah!! I will be bringing all of my pants here from now on. Even the ones from the old cleaners that were hemmed too short will be brought here to be fixed! Being short can be a big pain in the @$$ but it's nice to know now that I have a place I can trust to do my hems and alterations! Based on the reviews of Claudine C. and Tessa M., I decided to give this place a shot for both cleaning and a few alterations. I LOVE IT. I felt oddly sad because no one else other than my mom has ever hemmed my pants. What? I'm not too proud. Something about taking my trousers here felt like a betrayal, even though my mere is 2500 miles away and has absolutely no interest in busting out the Singer for me anyway. It all worked out for the best, since I wanted to scoop up the owner lady and carry her around in my pocket for the rest of the day. She is freaking ADORABLE and, best of all, sister gots MAD SKILLZ. Having a good alterations place changes everything (especially because I'm 5'3"). I had 13 pieces cleaned and 2 pieces altered for $85 total. I took them in Wednesday afternoon and they were ready on Friday after 4PM. They have weekend hours so I actually picked them up on Saturday morning. I imagine that it isn't the cheapest place in the area, but well worth it. The chick even gave me a coupon for 20% off my next visit. Love her. I need to ask her what her name is next time I go in since she's my new best friend. Update: Her name is Janie and I want her to adopt me. No offense, Mom. read more

This is a GREAT dry cleaner -- I've been using them for 7 years... I moved across the bay a few months ago and continue to make the drive to Mountain View because the service is so awesome. In addition to the impeccable job they perform with cleaning, they also do all my alterations.. I'm 5'2". Anyone else that height knows that it's nearly impossible to buy pants that are the correct length off the rack, as most pants are made for Amazonian supermodels. So, I usually buy pants that fit at the waist and then need to be shortened. That's where a great tailor comes in handy. I moved to the area in November and hadn't yet found a tailor. After reading the other Yelp reviews a couple weeks ago, I brought two new pair of pants -- one pair of designer jeans and a pair of wide-legged dress slacks -- to One Hour Cleaners. Janey welcomed me to the store and asked me to try on the pants so she could measure how much to shorten. She took into consideration that the denim would probably shrink a bit in the wash since they hadn't been washed before. And she even recommended a certain type of hem on the jeans so they would look better than the original. As I was leaving, she asked if I ate bread because she wanted to give me some -- what dry cleaner owner do you know who has done that? The pants were ready remarkably fast -- 2 days later. I couldn't tell that either had even been shortened because they looked perfect. I washed and then wore the jeans, and while I wish that Janey had shortened them a little less because they shrunk in length a tiny bit in the wash, I'm overall thrilled with the results. I don't blame Janey at all for this, as she did try to compensate for potential denim shrinkage when measuring -- I just think that the jeans shrunk more than we both thought they would. They're definitely still wearable -- I just know that next time, I'll ask her to shorten denim a little less than we think is necessary. I haven't tried on the dress pants yet, but I'll try and update this review after I do. [EDIT 03/21/08: I finally wore the other pants, and they were also a tiny bit shorter than I would have liked. I will still return to One Hour Cleaners, but I'll be more careful when she measures the length for hemming.] When I picked up the pants, she remembered that I'm new to the area and that I traveled out of my way just for her services. She gave me a $3 off $10 of dry cleaning on my next visit. I'm sure I'll be back for both her expert tailoring and dry cleaning services in the future.
