We paid $100 per month for one practice a week. After a 4-month session, there was a dance performance that parents had to pay to attend -- $20 per person to watch my child dance for about 4 minutes. The older cheer girls did great. At the end of the session, my 5-year-old had learned very little beyond basic rolling, which was disappointing given the cost. For the price, I expected more instruction, progress, and value. Overall, this felt very overpriced for the amount of training and the additional costs involved. I have tried this gym twice because my daughter likes the Intro to Tumbling class. However, both times I had trouble with the front desk staff. Their customer service is not good. They never answer the phone, Nobody is ever there attending customers and the miscommunication is horrible. I would have loved my daughter to continue to come here but I just couldn't handle the bad customer service. read more

Our family loves West Coast Rush. Everyone is so friendly and makes you feel welcome. My daughter started here over a year ago on their prep team. She LOVED cheer and I loved the camaraderie she found here with the other girls. Unfortunately, my daughter didn't enjoy the competitions. She now takes tumbling classes exclusively. We are new to the WCR family. We just joined a squad a month ago and I have never felt more secure in a sports team decision. Carlos and Jennifer are wonderful and most importantly they are kind, welcoming and really care about the development and improvement of each child. Natalie is an absolute GEM! And they have an impressive crew of coaches. My daughter is new to gymnastics and is still developing muscle control etc.- they are so patient and supportive of her. She needs to improve to perform at the level of the other kids- but even with that said- I feel like it is a great place for beginners to advanced. This is a close nit group, but so far I have found the families welcoming. FYI- This is a very professional organization with serious coaches who have amazing credentials. You get out of it what you put into it. Absolute TOP NOTCH! The time commitment for the teams is high, but the payoff and the value are already worth it. The gym facility is AMAZING! Huge and with all the training equipment you can imagine. The parent viewing room is a great - love to watch my kid practice!! They have accomplished a tremendous amount with the kids already and they have high expectations- which is great. They expect the kids to deliver their best. So far--I totally give them an A+! We have fumbled around with soccer, basketball and dance classes for my daughter and never really found a program that she loved and felt confident in. She loves RUSH and feels like part of the team! My daughter loves it here, she just finished her first year of all star cheer and she's not only developed the skills she wanted to work on when she first signed up, but she found friends and worked on some life skills. My daughter is the definition of bossy, and I loved when she came home one day after practice and said one of her coaches told her to be a leader you have to let others lead, as soon as I heard this I knew she would most likely stay here. She gets to the gym works out, does some homework on the days when her school load is extra heavy, this place gives her a safe place for her to be herself, to grow. While my daughter is a bit of a social butterfly I am a little more awkward and introverted but I have found the parents at the gym are so welcoming and happy. read more

I definitely took a journey for a few years until I landed at RUSH. After a about five years with a local valley youth football and cheer club, not to mention being the cheer director for one year and board member, I pulled my child out about a week before a youth cheer national competition. Reason, I lost all confidence in them to deliver results. Well, I was right and my journey began with researching all the SF Valley all-star teams. I selected West Coast RUSH because they had a stellar record and once my daughter was placed on a team, extra tumbling classes were FREE. GENIUS!!! This encourages team members to take extra tumbling classes; therefore, developing better to exceptional athletes; therefore, developing exceptional teams. The proof is in the pudding, folks. Initially, my daughter was upset when I pulled her from the youth football/cheer club, but now she wishes I would have done it sooner. Just in my daughter's first season, her team has won three national championships and received a PAID BID to the coveted D2 Summit - National Small Program Championship in Florida (April/May 2016). Oh, now about the owner/coach, Carlos Onofre. He is simply AMAZING and it's evident with his current (March 2016 - outcome still pending) U.S. All Star Federation (USASF) nomination for Coach of the Year. The guy knows what he's doing - he's been judging all-star cheer competitions for years and is well respected in the all-star cheer community nationwide. I hope this review helps you with making your decision or at least encourage you to try a free tumbling class to check out the great accomplishments coming from this local SF Valley gym. read more

I used to attend West Coast Rush and at first i was all for it even though many of my friends in the program left because of issues with the program. I later learned that the owner of the gym was respectful until he didnt get exaclty what he wanted at the exact time he wanted it. This was noticed when he began to become not understanding of out of cheer situations, that he was informed of before the season started. He is unprofesstional in the way he runs his program, not to say the least the team does poorly at compitions. I do not reccomend West Coast Rush what so ever. read more

Outstanding coaches that actually care, push, and motivate to get you (or your child) to next level potential. They focus more on personal and team growth than they do on "winning", unlike a lot of other cheer teams, which is great and naturally creates winners :-). This was our first year with Rush, and I can kick myself for not doing more research and coming sooner. My daughter has been in All-star cheer going into her 5th year and this is by far the best ran program that we have been to. The friendships she has made will be with her forever. The coaches are GREAT and care about each and every one of their athletes. The progress my daughter has made in one year is amazing. If you are looking for your child to grow and see progress in this sport, this is where you want to be!!! We are so excited for our 2nd year with this organization. We attended a birthday party and it was AMAZING! The coaches were so patient with all the kids and were super welcoming. They really know how to engage and keep a large group of 5 year olds entertained. My 5 year old daughter did not want to leave when the party was over but most surprisingly my 3 year old boy who can by clingy in new places just could not get enough of the trampoline / the obstacle course / the big jumper with a slide. All the kids had so much fun. The staff was young, energetic and had genuine smiles on their faces throughout the whole party. And I didn't feel bad about kids eating cake and ice-cream because they got so much exercise they actually needed the energy :) read more

Do NOT sign up your child at this gym as they are completely incompetent from ownership to the coaches. Carlos is a terrible coach who has no right being in the position he has. The lack of communication and last second practice scheduling is only the beginning of the unorganized mess that you will be burdened with should you choose to try them out. They will attempt to be a competitive organization but the coaches are not experienced enough to teach the necessary skills to compete at the highest level necessary for success at the next level. If you don't mind being a part of a "junior league" organization then maybe this place is for you. However, at the prices they charge the level of coaching falls far below the costs involved (skills taught are not worth the cost). RUN.... don't walk away from WCR!!! There are FAR BETTER options to consider before enrolling your child at this inferior organization!! I have been a coach for 20+ years, age 5 - 18. I have 10 years coaching high school athletes so I'm well aware of what coaches need to provide for their athletes success. WCR is out of their league in this area. read more
