We initially used the services of West Coast Surrogacy to have our first child in 2022 and they then assisted us with our second daughter who was born earlier this year (2025). We'd split the services we received from them into two parts - firstly sourcing a surrogate and then secondly providing support and assistance as you progress with trying to get pregnant and having a baby. In both respects it is difficult to think of any aspect of what they did which we were not 100% happy with. Similarly I can't think of anything I would reasonably have liked them to have done for us which they didn't. Our surrogate and her family were lovely people with whom we had a brilliant relationship with throughout. We found that west coast did a great job of managing the introduction and when helping the parties enter into a formal legal relationship. We were provided with introductions to professionals (lawyers for example) who seemed well versed in the process making it quick, smooth and painless for us. Once we had everything agreed with the surrogate we were then allocated an individual (D) who provided support and assistance with the remainder of the process from start to finish. We found the help D provided to be excellent and invaluable. She just made it all so easy for us......liaising with our surrogate, updating us on her medical appointments, chasing any third parties dragging their feet, making helpful suggestions and reminders about what we needed to do..... to come with just a few things that she helped with. Essentially we found that D freed us of any responsibility or concern about managing the process or thinking about what we needed to do when - we just read her emails which kept us informed, did the things she asked us to do promptly (and if we didn't you always got a helpful and polite judge from D reminding you to), and before we knew it we were back home with two children raising a family! I honestly can't think of anything West Coast could have done to be more professional and helpful or improve the service that they provided. read more

My wife and I found west coast surrogacy through our fertility doctor. I can't speak for others, but we were stressed out and troubled upon realizing that we would have to try and have a child this way. Sure it cost a lot of money and we had no idea what we were doing and the agency guided us through the process. It worked out that we were paired with a surrogate who is wonderful, in her late twenties, is married, and has two children; she's fantastic. Our case manager (Andrea) has been by our surrogates side (and ours) throughout this process. Than only bone of contention I had throughout this process was with the lawyers. I have my own lawyers that I've worked with for years that have guided me through all kinds of issues and despite their firm having experience in California fertility law, I was not able to use them. I was told that I had to use one of 3 firms that the agency had experience working with and at the time this left a bitter taste in my mouth because the 3 firms they would only work with cost about $2,000 more than what I was quoted by my firm. At this point, this is water under the bridge seeing as me and my wife's biological daughter is due any day now and upon many dollars later that extra $2,000 I spent on their lawyers was like throwing a deck chair off the Queen Mary. The legal process was seamless and no big deal. The Fertility International Law Group handled everything. Great people... It has been a very long and expensive process, but you do what you have to do to have a child if nature doesn't allow you to have one of you own, and our experience with the agency has been a very positive experience overall. My wife and I will be using west coast surrogacy again and would certainly recommend them to anybody interested in being paired with a surrogate. read more

This agency was a huge disappointment and the sad thing, is realizing it AFTER I completed my journey and wanting to do another. They pretend they are nice and sound nice! They dropped me with no hesitation and made me believe that they could help me find another agency just so I won't leave disappointed. They were quick to remove me from their Facebook page and leave me "hanging" and not be so nice anymore. I did, however, have a wonderful 2nd journey and it was due to having a good relationship with my IF. My 1st journey was with a different agency but I never left them a bad review because it was my decision to part ways with them plus I didn't feel like crap the way this agency did. So do your research very carefully and ask questions on social media groups. When I posted on a closed surrogacy group seeking for an agency, to my surprise, there were several other surrogates that had also been with West Coast and felt the same way as I did. They seem to have their favorites and I don't believe that is a way an agency should run especially when you have excellent surrogates that have had successful journeys. Those surrogates dismissed by West Coast, have successfully moved on with other agencies and are pregnant. I found several other agencies that would love to work with me and so far have proven to me that West Coast does not go above and beyond to help IPs and their surrogates. read more

It's been 5 years now since I gave birth to two twin baby Boys for a couple whom live literally on the other side of the world. China. The entire process for me was scary. I'd had my own two boys but I had never carried twins. West coast walked me through the entire process. As a surrogate, made sure I understood everything. Never made me feel lost. This entire process for me was new and one that anyone can feel lost and alone. Having the parent in China and me in California was hard. They gave me my space and were utterly involved from so far away. Looking back 5 years after, I don't regret this experience. Not a single thing...most beautiful thing. I May never be a surrogate again or a superhero, but I know that somewhere out there are two lovely boys that I carried two of whom are bringing so much meaning to so many people. It has been a long and difficult journey for us but we are surely glad that we wound up with West Coast Surrogacy after all. We began our search over a year ago with the goal of finding a surrogate in the Bay Area which we knew was going to be a challenge. We approached West Cost Surrogacy early on but decided to spend the extra money to hire an intermediate referral agency because West Coast did not have anyone in our area at the time. The referral agency set us up with a relatively unknown agency which had someone who matched our criteria but after we paid the agency fees, they informed us through an email that our candidate did not pass the psychological screening. We were rather shocked. The psych evaluation was almost a formality and we really did not see that coming. We called and e-mailed the agent immediately but it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, our agent did not return our calls and really took her time in replying to us through e-mail the following week. We were distraught. We went with them only because they claimed to have someone in our area. The whole thing really smacked of bait-and-switch. We talked to the referral agency and they said theirs hands were tied. They said we still had the option to re-match, but after the experience we had with them, the only thought in our heads was "what deceptions lie ahead if we were to continue with them"? Their service dropped so abruptly the very moment we paid them that it really felt like they just took our money and ran. I have to say we have never lost so much money so quickly. We wanted it to work so badly that we chose to ignore the warning signs. IPs beware! So we continued our search with the referral agency and this time we asked them to perhaps forget about our preference for the location but just find us a reputable agency that has been in the business for a while as we were stung so badly that we were still reeling from our loss. They put us back with West Coast whom we spoke to before we retained their service. Remember the only reason we did not go with WCS was because they did not have anyone in our area before but it just so happened that they did this time around and she is even in our zip! Tyler was very patient in listening to what we went through with the other agency and he addressed all our concerns. Our experience with West Coast was exactly the opposite of that of the other agency and things could not have gone better with them and our surrogate. As we were finalizing our agreement before the year-end, both Tyler and Amy replied to our e-mails all the way through midnight on New Year's Eve (yes, from 2015 to 2016!). How many Founder/CEOs do that? But the thing about WCS is not just the personal touch, they have also managed to get a very difficult and delicate process down to an art (or is it a science?). We have made large purchases and paid for expensive services but unfortunately for us, we had lousy experience more often than not. WCS provides excellent services for everything we expect, and we do mean top-notch. One might say that is just meeting clients' expectations, but we have lived long enough to know that is the culmination of many years of experience and takes a very competent organization starting from the top down. As immigrants we tend to be tough graders because things are more competitive where we came from but our experience with WCS has been so good that they truly are top of the world. We know a good thing when we see it and we know we struck gold with WCS. Our only regret is not going to them in the first place but we are surely glad we finally did. The only thing more magical than our experience with West Coast is finding our surrogate. It is her first surrogacy but she is absolutely brilliant. She is always so sweet, upbeat and happy, and she is constantly a step (sometimes several!) ahead of us and very careful about her pregnancy. She is absolutely a godsend, we are so blessed to have found her. *Any* IP will be so lucky to have her help. One of the most prestigious IVF clinic in Los Angeles referred me to West Coast Surrogacy. I had a wonderful experience working them in the past year. The brilliant matchmaker Tyler always does his best to bring the right surrogate and client together. I have worked with two case manager Debbie and Lindsey, both of them are easy to work with and I can even reach them on the weekends and evening. I also met the owner Amy, she is the most reasonable, understanding and kind lady. I mean All the stuff in West Coast are very friendly, responsible, flexible, caring and professional. I can always reach the stuff easily and they are efficient as well. They handle case by case, and try their best to bring miracle to live. I have had one very successful surrogacy journey that resulted in me delivering a beautiful baby girl to the most amazing couple which remain good friends! I am now working on my second surrogacy journey with another very lovely couple. There are so many great things I could say about West coast, such as the amazing caring staff, professionalism and compassion they all hold, but if I could only say one good thing it would be how determined they are to make sure that they find the perfect match between IP and surrogate so that they may have the best experience. I was reluctant to post a Yelp review. But when I saw Kristie's review, I felt compelled to tell my story. So you know, I never considered surrogacy as a viable option due to its stigma. But, as with many things in life, my personal circumstances served to change my viewpoint and prejudices about something I never thought possible. This was my experience with surrogacy. But more importantly, this was my experience with WCS. Before I dealt with WCS, I had the irrational/misinformed belief that an agency is paid an exhorbitant amount of money for very little in return. I was wrong. As I learned, WCS earns its money 1000x over with the service it provides throughout the process. For example, WCS must vet each surrogate by analyzing her psychological profile, background, belief system, honesty, health, etc. Only after this long process will WCS be able to introduce the surrogate to potential IPs. This is an extremely sensitive process, because WCS must ensure a pleasant relationship between (1) IPs who have been through so much before coming to WCS, and (2) surrogates who have waited so long to be allowed to be surrogates. As for WCS' fees, as an IP you are paying for the costs and time expended to vet the surrogate, to review and present the best possible options to IPs, to foster successful matches, to get through the contract stage, and to monitor/help throughout the pregnancy. So Kristie's reference to "cash flow issues" or lack of surrogates is, quite frankly, unfair and unjustified commentary. In reading my review, if you think that I just got lucky with WCS and am therefore biased, then you'd be wrong. After we were first matched with a surrogate, she did a 180 on us during the contract phase by refusing to agree to previously-agreed terms. So the whole thing began to crumble. We didn't know whether we were being overly-sensitive or strict in what we wanted. But thank God, WCS was there to ensure that we didn't have a nervous breakdown. Amy (owner), Debbie, and Tyler spent 30+ hours communicating between the surrogate and us to ensure everyone felt validated and understood (no other agency would do this). And although the match ended up failing, WCS continued to be considerate and empathetic to our situation. WCS waived the re-match fee, which our contract with WCS legally-required us to pay. They also served as our own personal therapists. In fact, the way that Amy handled the whole ordeal made me conclude that SHE WAS THE MOST CONSUMMATE AGENCY PROFESSIONAL THAT EVER EXISTED. ...AND TRUST ME, my wife and I are harsh critics. We are both litigation attorneys. We are trained to look for every misstep and every screw-up. Yet, I cannot for the life of me think of anything that WCS did wrong. This is my conclusion after a failed match and having to be re-matched. WCS value is unparalleled. NOW, let me tell you what I got for the rest of my money. After moving forward, WCS gave us Debbie, who was our personal case manager. But I prefer to call her our personal case hero. To put her value into perspective, you must know that a surrogacy pregnancy is fraught with emotional rollercoasters. The surrogate may be unresponsive. The surrogate may fail to apprise you of her gynecological appointments or findings. The surrogate may not stick to the diet that she originally agreed to maintain. So having Debbie to help out is an absolute godsend. Debbie followed-up regarding her diet, Debbie visited her home, Debbie attended doctor's appointments, Debbie texted photographs of sonograms we missed, etc. Debbie was an absolute angel. The value of Debbie and WCS is 1000 times what they get paid. MOREOVER, when we were stressed by the failure of the 1st match, both Debbie and Andrea (WCS' employees) offered to be our surrogates. We didn't have the heart to agree, because both previously served as surrogates and the risk to their health would have been too great (i.e. repeat caesarean sections = serious risks to surrogate). BUT THE FACT THAT THEY OFFERED?!? What other agency is so stocked with such caring people that they'll literally say, "Hey, we feel for you that the 1st match didn't work out, so let me risk my own health to make your dreams come true." If that doesn't tell you the caliber of WCS, then go elsewhere. All I know is that I kept driving down from L.A. to utilize their services, because WCS is quite simply the best. If, like Kristie, you have to wait to get the right profile from them, it's because they don't want to cause you emotional turmoil by bad matches or inappropriate candidates. But rest assured, they are thinking of you daily and fighting in every possible way to earn their money a 1000 times over by making sure they can bring a little miracle into your life. read more

There are no words to describe the pain we are suffering from a miscarriage, or holding the lifeless body of our baby. Being IPs who have been on a very long and very expensive journey just adds to it....It is during such horrible times that true colors show.....and WCS has been amazing - compassionate, supportive, helping, representing us, incurring additional expenses for us and not asking for the money. We live in San Jose, and are not close by. The fact that the owner Amy got so involved, spent day and night at the hospital with our surrogate, and us, and made arrangements for me to hold my baby's body; when I got to the hospital she arranged a private room for me to mourn with my baby's body. Her actions spoke volumes. She was responding to my texts day and night. This process is extremely expensive, and it was difficult to know how to choose an agency (its our life savings!), but I honestly can not imagine any other agency having its owner caring as much as Amy has done for us. I felt it when she first hugged me at the hospital and we cried together - she really cares, its not just a business for her. I cannot say enough about how much support and strength I have got from Amy and her staff....true angels and professionals. I pray that no other IP/surrogate has to ever endure what we did, but I also can not imagine dealing with all this with any another agency. read more
