I requested that they pre drilled everywhere they were going to add mounting brackets and they accommodated my requests. I needed a gutter downspout removed and sealed at one end and a new hole made for a rain chain at…read morethe other. At the first rain water poured from the place where the previous downspout was supposedly sealed. Bobby told me he would personally fix the leaking seal, but instead he sent the same helper who had botched the seal the first time. Because Bobby was "on his way", I asked the helper to wait and have Bobby do the job. He ignored my request and was finished when Bobby arrived. Bobby noted there was still a little water from a previous rain, which means the helper applied the replacement sealer on wet metal. I heard the helper tell Bobby the sealant needed to cure 9 hours, but Bobby flooded the gutter with water because it hadn't been cleaned the first time the helper came. Then Bobby told me they'd used silicone to reseal the hole, and from everything I've read silicone does not adhere well to galvanized steel and will fail quickly. Bobby told me that all sealant for gutters is silicone and I knew that wasn't true, which I've confirmed with other companies that seal gutter leaks. I wrote an email to Bobby requesting he either refund the $200 cash I paid or come and try again to do the job again using a sealant that works with galvanized steel. He did not even bother to respond. I am going to have to hire another repair person to have this job done correctly as it is apparently not something Bobby is willing to do. If you need gutter repairs done, I would strongly suggest you look elsewhere, possibly with someone licensed who is more knowledgeable. THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU HAS RATED THIS COMPANY AS "F". "BBB confirmed this company had not obtained a necessary license from Contractors State License Board." According to BBB, this is a required competency license.

They appeared to be working harder and faster than any other roofing crew I had seen, and they got the job done in 3 or 4 days instead of the typical 5. When I got a letter from my home insurance company stating that they would cancel me if I didn't get a new roof (the same thing has happened to most of my neighbors, I suspect), I called Alex Perez Roofing, plus two other companies for comparison. Alex himself came out, and he spent a long time talking to me and my partner about the job. He answered all of our questions. He didn't have a slick sales presentation like the other two roofing companies that we called. As a former roofer himself, he was more focused on explaining the dynamics and the work of the job, rather than trying to get us to agree to a a top-tier "premium roof package." Unsurprisingly, his bid came in lower than the other two companies I called. In an apples-to-apples comparison (50 year warranty, special venting at the top of the roof line) his company had the best value. His guys showed up on time, worked hard, were very polite, and left the job site clean. On the office side, Alex's staff kept me well-appraised on where we were in the process, and when invoices were due. When additional dry rot was discovered after the roof was pulled off, his office staff emailed me a comprehensive report and photos, and they had a lengthy phone conversation with me about it at my request, ensuring that all of my questions were answered. Alex also dropped by the job site regularly to check on things. The whole crew struck me as honest, regular working people just trying to get the job done, never trying to upsell me on any special packages, warranties, or guarantees. I would recommend them, or at least suggest that you call them out for a bid to compare them with what some of the bigger companies are offering.
