I scored an amazing deal through the Goodie Bag app at West End Bagels--two surprise bags of bagels for just $3 each! That's 6 bagels per bag, so 12 bagels for $6. How could I go wrong?! The shop was easy to find, located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. When I arrived, I waited in line and mentioned my reserved Goodie Bag (pay on the app to reserve). At first, I didn't buy anything extra, but once I got to my car and saw the variety inside - plain, poppyseed, garlic & onion, sesame seed, cinnamon raisin, and wheat - I decided to head back in for some cream cheese. They didn't include my favorite everything bagel but with the mix I got I couldn't complain! I picked up jalapeño cream cheese and a hazelnut raisin flavor which was unique and tasty. The bagels might have been (not sure) day-olds, but they were still delicious. Over the next few days, I enjoyed some fresh and froze the rest. While thawed bagels never taste quite as good as fresh, these held up well. West End Bagels also offers paninis and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, which I'd love to try next time. I've been going here periodically for the last few years! I have only gotten bagels and never tried their sandwiches. The whole place has a New York theme - very appealing to me being an East Coaster and knowing that NJ and NY absolutely have the best bagels. I have yet to try their cream cheeses because I always get bagels to bring home and serve them with my own cream cheese but today I noticed they had a couple of fun flavors that would very well appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth: cookies & cream, and also funfetti. My absolute favorite thing they have that will always keep me coming back is that they have colored bagels that they call "wagels" and the colors are always themed for the holidays - and if there's not a holiday, they will often have rainbow! They look fantastic! Today I got Christmas themed ones, but in the past I've gotten green for St. Patrick's Day, red for Valentines Day, pastels for Easter... They have real wow factor! I knocked off one star for being pricey because 4 wagels cost me $14. ...fyi: their general rule on weekends is that they won't cut bagels for you because they are too busy. These aren't bagels; they are puffy bread. Was I surprised when I visited today (1/23/25)? Not at all. I could tell the way they looked that they were not boiled. I tried peeking in the back to see if there was a kettle to boil the bagels, but I did not see one. I did, however, purchase two bagels, an onion, and an egg. I knew they weren't authentic, but I bought them anyway. I just drove across the country and had a good bagel in Greensboro, NC., at Brueggers's Bagels. I went there three times within a week. Their bagels were fantastic. I could see the bagels boiling, and you can tell the difference, but Americans like everything big. Authentic or not, as long as it's big, we'll buy it. I hesitate doing this because I love supporting small businesses but their customer service is really bad. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich to go. I ran in and grabbed my bag and got in the car to leave. I took a bite within 5 or so minutes of leaving the place and noticed my sandwich didn't have cheese on it. I legitimately hate bringing food back even if it's made wrong. I don't know why, but I always feel bad doing it, but I was close enough and had the time. I spoke with the lady and the front and she expressed zero care, almost forced me to say what I wanted them to do about it. I felt horrible enough for even asking. I even said, I'd be happy with half a sandwich since the other half is not salvageable. She went back in the kitchen and came back out and told me in the future I will need to bring the sandwich back without a bite to get a new one made.. how is that remotely how something like this should be handled?? I visited for the first time and got the West End Classic panini . The young lady taking my order was super friendly. I thought the panini was good but the portion of turkey was too thin and didn't fill my sandwich from end to end so there was large gaps of nothing but mayo. I like their chipotle mayo and I'll try them again when I'm in the area. read more

Customer service is awful! Internal issues with online ordering is a their problem but places the blame on customers...with absolutely no attempt to make anything right. All we wanted was what was ordered and have screen shots and confirmation of the order but all the employees and the manager was rude and would not make it right. These are by far the best bagels outside of NY & Philly. We typically get a 6-12 to eat for breakfast throughout the week as they are not on the way to work. It's located in a shopping center and is pretty small inside - some counter height seating and 2 small tables against the wall are all there is, so don't plan on eating there. The lox spread could use some work, and sometimes the toaster seems uneven, but when it comes to the correct balance of chewy, crisp, and doughy - this is the place to go for a proper bagel! read more

The shop has coffee, Boars Head brand meats, bakery items such as muffins and cookies plus all kinds of spreads ( whitefish, hummus, variety of cream cheeses etc.) for the bagels. This is close to my neighborhood and somehow I'm managed to not check it out before now. I wanted a Cinnamon & Raisin bagel toasted with lox and cream cheese. She said ' oh you want the supreme' I said if that means adding the tomato, onions and capers, no, I don't want the supreme, I just want the lox and cream cheese. When you have people straight from New York telling you to try a bagel place, you should probably drop everything and try the bagel place. And this is, in a sense, what we did. West End Bagels is tucked into the middle of a strip mall. When we arrived the place was packed. There was barely enough room inside to stand however, the staff was attentive and quickly took our orders. I decided on the bagel with lox and cream cheese. This is my favorite bagel and West End Bagels knocked it out of the park. The bagel was the perfect consistency being just firm enough but not beef jerky firm where when you take a bite the insides of the bagel go everywhere while you try to shred apart the bagel. The lox were great too. I've been to a couple of bagel shops that use a cheaper brand that's really thin and doesn't taste or smell good. This was not the case here. The cream cheese was a solid 10 out of 10. Very dense and creamy. Bagel choices are pretty consistent with every bagel spot. Plain, garlic, onion, poppyseed, everything, etc. Bagels can be bought single, half dozen, dozen or even more. Facebook seems to be the best place to keep up with what is going on or their specials. I tried the website a few times and it seems glitchy. I would love the option to be able to order ahead given how busy the place was on my last visit but that's not a deal breaker. I wanted to see and taste what this place was all about and I was not disappointed! Oh how delicious the bagel and spread was. West End Bagel is nestled in the shopping plaza near Publix. Follow the bagel signs! I ordered an everything bagel with veggie spread/smear. The bagel had just the right amount of seasonings and a hint of salt. On my goodness it was so good. I was greeted right away. I told the waitress that it was my first time listing and she waited patiently as I contemplated kn my choice. The decor is just right, with great pops of color, and a cute area for sitting. The menu selection is great as they also have sandwiches - hot and cold. You can also purchase chicken said separately. I did. It was great too. I look forward to returning. They are open until 6:00am-4:00 pm on Monday -Friday and 6:30 until 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday! Go check them out! read more

Realized it's been 2 years so I need to update. This place has vastly improved both service and food. We get bagels on Sundays at least twice a month. Fantastic bagels. Big, chewy, good flavor selection. I Recommend the BLT on a double toasted Everything bagel. It comes with thick cut, well done bacon, thick slices of fresh tomatoes, and a heap of shredded lettuce. I paid to add cheddar, and when I couldn't find any cheese on my sandwich, I asked for a refund on the cheese. Strange, I know. But it's good to see how managers react in situations like this. I showed her my partially eaten bagel, and she offered to give me cheese. However, I declined and she refunded me one dollar. Possibly she didn't want to hand me the actual listed cost of the cheese (45 cents) with other customers in earshot. Either way, I felt respected and validated. The BLT was amazing by the way! They have a steady stream of customers in the morning, indoor stools and outdoor tables, and they sell a range of bottled drinks. The bagels are good but the customer service is severely lacking. Their internet was down so they did not have their online orders. When asked if they can make the online order with proof it was suggested that I must be the person who can smell internet connection and was there to dupe them out of bagels.
