I believe something strange is going on with this business. I came to know them from Groupon I called and scheduled a meeting last Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.. appointment that was confirmed. When I arrived the elevator that leads to their floor which is number three since they occupied the whole floor did not work. I climbed the stairs to their suite nobody answered the door. I asked around in the second floor and they told me if the elevator is not working it means that they're not there. I called million times I emailed nobody answers. I've had 2 appts at West LA Implants, and in both cases, Dr. Barriere and his staff did a great job figuring out what the issue was or wasn't. In the 1st appt, I came to him after another Periodontist said I needed some complicated gum procedure that would be painful and expensive. Dr. Barrier did a thorough exam and said he didn't see the issue (an implant just needed to be tightened). It would've been easy for him to agree with the other Dr and have me spend a bunch of $ w/him for the procedure. Recently, I had a toothache, and while the x-rays didn't show him anything, he opted to have me get a CT scan as well (he has the scanner in his office), and it, in fact, showed an issue with a root that needed to be addressed asap. If he hadn't had the CT scanner or listened closely to my concern, the issue probably wouldn't have been discovered. read more

I had a broken tooth that needed to be fixed. Dr. Barriere's diagnosis was placing a crown over the tooth. He and his dental assistant Ellaia, who did the temporary crown, are the best in their fields IMO. The doctor is also very attentive, accommodating, and nice. However, this is the most expensive dental office I have ever been to. I have dental insurance, and I have always been charged my co-pay. This office charged me $350 over my co-pay, and this is after a so called discount. I was told the doctor used a better quality of crown. In other words, my three other previous crowns were no good as I only paid my co-pay for them!!! I am also a candidate for an implant, and since I was given another unaffordable estimate of the cost, I decided to shop around. I called West LA Implant a few minutes ago to get a copy of my scan, and the billing agent said it would cost $190. I have gotten copies of X-rays, scans, and even MRIs from one doctor to take to another, and there was never a charge! This is really upsetting because I would have liked to stay with this doctor, but I cannot afford the cost as I am a retired person on a fixed income. read more
