The fenced park has a small gate on the east side that lets you walk on gravel paths to a picnic table and a bench. The south and east ends of the park use greenery to form a barrier from other businesses. On the east end is a plaque/kiosk that tells about the former Depot that sat across the street and the Lincoln Funeral Train that passed through in 1865. In the center of the park is a large cube that looks like it may have been a bank vault for the Klous Waugh Bank. I haven't been able to find any info about the park or bank, but it is nice to see a bit of greenery along a business corridor. Review #2744

The smaller west section of the park has a shelter and playground which may appeal to more folks than the disc golf. The facilities aren't new, but seem to be pretty well maintained. I visited a couple of parks during a recent work trip to Lafayette. I was in the area of Greenbush…read moreStreet and found two parks a couple miles apart. By far, this one was preferred. Munger Park is a 32-acre park developed on land donated by Cinergy-PSI. It is named after Thomas and Alice Munger, whose $100,000 donation made development possible. The park was dedicated in 1997. The trail, which I found very accessible, offers lots of open space for frisbee play. The trail goes around the pond and fishing is permitted (state regs apply). Munger Park participates in Indiana DNR's urban fishing program called FishIN in the City. The shelter is located next to the asphalt parking lot off of Greenbush Street. As Ken N. notes in his review, if you want the playground, enter at the south entrance; the north entrance offers the shelter, lake, and hiking. You can easily access all of it without moving the car if you're able to walk/roll, etc. about one mile. The shelter is available for rent each day of the week. You can reserve online, though be aware reservations are non-refundable. This is a really attractive park. It's relaxing, well cared for, and offers great views and easy ways to enjoy the area and take a stroll. The park also has benches to relax along the way. I'd easily return on future trips. This may be more of a 4-star, however, I liked it enough that I'm sticking with the 5-star rating.

If you want to use a shelter, see a lake, and do some hiking, go to the north entrance. Otherwise, you can count on a long walk to get from one side to the other! The park has really nice landscaping on both ends and access to the same trails. Both ends have parking lots on site as well. The playground is pretty standard with swings, climbing and sliding pieces. There is also a fitness station near the playground also. Review #1075

A building onsite that wasn't clearly marked looks trashy and need of a makeover. The geese seemed to have taken over the playground and lawn so it wasn't a place I would advise kids to run around. (Seriously, watch where you step!) But with a little deterrent and some paint/clean up, the park could be much better. So, on Wednesday afternoons, a Farmer's Market sets up booths to take advantage of the space! The park also has a couple basketball courts, a large shelter with picnic tables, and a new sculpture at the entrance called "Rooster" to welcome the visitors coming for the Farmer's Market. The park also has a community flower garden that adds a bit of color to the park. Overall, it seemed to be maintained well and had plenty of room for further development. Review #1140

This is such a beautiful new park; perfect for kids ages 1-10!…read more My 1 year old loved the area with the swings set back in the trees, and my 4 year old loved the slides that were up on the hillside. Lots of clean bathrooms to choose from, lots of space for kids to run, and the boating area looks like it'll be great for the summer!

Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon for a leisurely walk and some exercise outside…read more Parking was ample perhaps because we came at an earlier time however I can easily see this place filling up. It's great to see the restroom area, which was actually fairly clean a lot of seating and some picnic tables and there were people there having parties for children. The fishing pond area looks pretty clean, although I will say it's a little small for kayaking or canoe trips for an hour which you can rent the canoe there. The children's play area is very nice very modern and very innovative. It includes owl shaped, and owl, looking playground toys for climbing, as well as some built-in music tools. There are some various slides as well, which I found a little narrow perhaps because they're meant for children not for an adult and they are quite steep. The walk into the woods part is rather short, but it's nice. I hope this place is getting developed even further to create more walking paths. They also did a great job preserving the old school building, although you can't go in it because it's locked.
