Extremely disappointed that this company was my first experience as a first time solo renter. Everything went well enough until I submitted my application. Once it got approved, they pressured me into changing my move in date to much earlier than the one I requested in order to hold my spot, which would be another $1000 in prorated rent. Okay, fine. They also asked me to send the deposit before they let me see the lease. I had a bad feeling about this but I didn't want to lose the rental, so I did. Everyone I've talked to about this has told me that was a red flag and I wish I'd been more cautious. Ultimately, once I got to look at the lease it had terms that I've never had when renting with other roommates and that I didn't agree with. Ultimately, that led me to decline the rental agreement. I'm frustrated and wish I hadn't wasted my time with this company. If you are considering one of their rentals, please proceed with caution. Ask questions, advocate for yourself, and don't send them HIT until you've seen both the property and the lease. These agents are sneaky, they're greedy, and they do not have your best interest at heart. read more

They are honest, fair and fast. Much appreciated in this HOT Huntington Beach market. 2. Attentiveness & Responsiveness - I haven't had to reach our for much (I try to be extremely reasonable), but when I have, I hear back immediately. 3. Maintenance - see #2. And don't be a pain in the butt! Lightbulb out? Fix it yourself! Smoke detector? Put some batteries in! Sink need a little caulk? Watch a YouTube video. Has West Life ever asked me to do any of that? No, but I try to do my part as a thoughtful tenant. That said, every time I've called maintenance, I have someone out within 1-2 days, depending on seriousness.
