Update!!!! I've had the Nosh burger with chipotle aioli, and havarti... I HIGHLY recommend! It is incredibly flavorful, and I couldn't put my burger down. The bun was perfect, the meat was delicious and cooked perfectly, and I have seriously found my favorite burger in Lodi. Boyfriend got the schnitzel, and WOW! Definitely had a fun night out here. Their menu is small , but everything we tried was delicious. It definitely adds variety to the downtown lodi area. I ventured into this lovely German joint over the past weekend with my friend after we enjoyed an afternoon of wine tasting in Lodi. This spot was clean, the staff were friendly and straightforward, and the food was delicious. I enjoyed a burger, add bacon (because WHY not), and shared a side of fries. Definitely a must visit place in Lodi. Interesting food ideas, beef fat fries with beer cheese sauce, bacon and pickled onions and jalapeños. Also a schnitzel sandwich served on a pretzel roll, and nosh pockets, which are Cornish pasties filled with ground beef, onions and cabbage, also served with pickled onions and a dipping sauce. Everything was delicious, and these 3 items left my wife and I very satisfied. Nice selection of beers, wines, and mixed drinks available, very attentive and friendly wait staff. My only deduction is because the space has kind of a dual personality feel to it, being divided in two, with one side being an intimate bar area, very close confines, with a big screen tv, and the other an unremarkable dining area, that seems kind of cold and utilitarian. We chose the bar area, and enjoyed the ambiance, but it probably fills up pretty fast, and I wouldn't want to be seated in the dining area. We were very disappointed - first of all, it feels like a cafeteria, with metal chairs and tables and nothing on the walls except a couple of TVs. It felt like eating inside a very uncrowded cafeteria ..even the trays that they serve the food on were metal. There was absolutely no charm to the interior. The service was mediocre at best, even though the waitress was pleasant, we didn't see much of her.and the food which is supposed to be a German was also mediocre. My bratwurst in a bun was no better than a steamed hot dog I could make at home. I will say the unusual fries were very good.But I certainly wouldn't recommend this place. It feels like the owner didn't want to invest much money into this place. And it shows. There are so many more charming places in Lodi to go for a beer and sausage. read more

I've been here twice, both times terrible service.... its unfortunate because they have a cute place and decent food and drinks but service absolutely horrible... the owners really need to crack down because I'm not going back and I'm sure others feel the same. Bo one greats you, no sign that says seat yourself. Then both times both girls come over after way to long and both don't know the drink menu and say you can go into the other room and look at the drinks. If you're looking for unique dishes try the Snitzel and Waffles (a German take on chicken and waffles) or the loaded avocado toast. There are healthy options like a fruit parfait! Wow. Just left lunch from this restaurant and we had a GREAT time! Our server was extremely nice and attentive to our every need. My son, who is a toddler, was running amuck and she was so friendly and hard-working to give us everything we needed. While we were casually having a conversation at the end of our lunch, we found out that our waitress Melissa was actually the owner!! She was hustling just like everyone in the staff. I was hoping to give this place a 5 star because it looked so promising but I have to give an honest review. What really upset us about our experience here yesterday was the Bavarian Pretzel we ordered. Instead of a Bavarian pretzel, we got what I'm almost positive to be Super Pretzel (frozen kind you can purchase at grocery stores). Based on yelp review photos, we were expecting a decent sized Bavarian pretzel. What we got were 3 mini pretzels covered in the same salt you would get in the Super Pretzel. It tastes and looks exactly the same as the frozen stuff, I know this bc we have it in our freezer. When I asked one of the waiters why we didn't get their Bavarian pretzel, he mumbled something that I couldn't hear and then said they'll go back to their regular Bavarian pretzels tomorrow. OK, so then why weren't we notified beforehand that we weren't going to get the real deal? We wouldn't have ordered it if we knew they were going to serve us those mini ones that I can heat up myself at home. So that's my biggest gripe and why this restaurant lost a star from me. Also, the waiter got our salad order wrong and it took a really long time to bring the correct salad, which wasn't worth the wait at all. We were, however, impressed with our beer and cocktail. They have a lot of other cocktails on their menu that I would like to try someday. I think we'll only come back for drinks next time, not food. The burger was pretty good and fries were great. I think just our 1st impression with the pretzels really threw us off. The waiter was nice and friendly though and apparently it was just his 2nd day working there. read more

Would love to love this place. There are a couple of issues. First the good, fun atmosphere, communal feeling. Great waiter and the Pretzel with Mustard and Beer Cheese and the Schnitzel Sandwich were great. Now the bad, no handicap seating in the bar. Only tall very narrow metal stools no foot bars. Dining room, no handicap seating. If you are in a mobility device there is nowhere to pull out a chair to allow the handicap chair in only long benches. I have to say, it is not handicap friendly. The other thing I noticed was being a "German" bar there was no German import beer. Just saying. read more

If I could rate this restaurant 0 stars I would. I was so excited for a German schnitzel. I had had one in years. When I ordered one, it came to my table burnt to a crisp, hard, and because they used pork, it still had that nasty pork smell to it as if they hadn't cleaned it properly. I then kindly returned the schnitzel and they brought me a brawtworst, which I was also excited about. About 10 min after diving into my "so-so" brawt, I take a look and notice about an inch of green mold on the bun. I mean, come on...really?
